1.Candysmith: I love Willy Wonka, and this and the Warshaper interest me greatly. I also find the Oompa Loompa class feature amusing.

2.Vessel of the Ancient Gods: I never read that book, but I found the idea interesting, and I usually enjoy the Binder stuff.

3.Nightmare Slayer: I like the class mechanics, and I like Buffy, but it feels a little dull.

Leader of Men: Love the idea that the class is specifically based on the bonuses applying due to teamwork, rather than just applying bonuses and then just having the party members do their own thing next to each other. And Muskrat put the most work into a good NPC encounter (3 points).
Dark Driver: SO much role-play opportunity, and Hellfire Touch does not seem very overpowered considering how careful it looks he would have to be about using it in front of witnesses (and how few bonuses there are already for unarmed fighting) (2 points)
Crack Lawyer: Love the idea of characters that are really, really good at non-combat skills, and the encouragement provided by the existence of such characters to make the whole story deeper than just "combat-combat-exposition-combat" (1 point)

1st vote: Vessel of the Ancient Gods. I like the book, and it's an interesting idea. Binders are just cool.

2nd vote: Candysmith I didn't expect Willy Wonka to be a martial adept, but it all hangs together.

3rd vote: Nightmare Slayer It's a classic archetype, and this class helps you follow it better. I might give it more SLA's and less UMD, but it works.

Mephibosheth

1. Crack Lawyer by malonkey1 - I have a fondness for taking archetypes that don't translate well into D&D and attempting to shoehorn them into the system. :smallwink: Plus I think a campaign based around trials would be fun to play. This is niche, but owns its exclusivity and is better for it.

2. Dark Driver by Tesla - An interesting roleplay hook plus a new feat system? Definitely at least worth a second look. Some of the feats aren't too inspiring by themselves, but it could become fun with a few tweaks.

3. Leader of Men by Rabidmuskrat - Another attempt to implement a difficult archetype. This one is a more serious attempt at making a character that is broadly effective, and does a fairly good job. A lot of bookkeeping, but an interesting class

Nice job to everyone!

1. House Cannith VIPER: I think that this is a very interesting class in how it handles itself, and it fills a role that could be hard to fill otherwise.

2. Crack Lawyer: It is a very good class for what it aims to be, and it has a number of interesting applications. Honestly I think that it does a wonderful job of emulating the characters that inspired it.

3. Vessel of the Ancient Gods: I really like several of the class features it has, and I think that it is very well put together.

1) Candysmith. I love the homage here and the martial discipline (currently being used by a player of mine) is a riot.

2)Vessel of the Ancient Gods. Much like everything Mephibosheth does this is incredible. I love the animal vestiges and can easily see this replacing druids in some campaign settings. On a side note I hope to see the original entry pop back up at some point.

3) Crack Lawyer. Perhaps it's because I would get to stand up, slam my hands on the table and yell "OBJECTION" as loud as possible but I really like the Crack Lawyer. The abilities are fluffy, relevant, and scale nicely. My only qualm is that I (personally) do not care for the Profession skill being the center but I can see the logic behind it.

Great work, Everyone!

1) Candysmith. Nice variety, elegantly implemented, and most importantly, you chose Gene Wilder as the class picture.
2) Vessel of the Ancient Gods. Does a great job of bringing Anansi Boys into a game setting.
3) Dark Driver. It's always fun to set up roleplaying opportunities like this.

What time zone are you in anyway? Good here.

1. Candysmith - I want one. Next door if possible. It's too delicious and hilarious not to be my first choice. Even if the mechanics were impossible it would be in my top three, and they're not - they're surprisingly playable! Let's all be Candysmiths! The world would be a better place for it.

2. Dark Driver - I agree with some of the other comments here, it would be fun to play and has interesting mechanics. You'd expect a dark driver to have interesting mechanics.

3. Crack Lawyer - The picture is worth my vote. The mechanics are a little thin, but the concept is a lot of fun.

After tallying the votes, I think we can see that the runaway victor of the 40th GitP Prestige Class Contest is Mephishobeth and his Vessel of the Ancient Gods! A fantastic class with a rich background, lots of work went into these vestiges and background, NPC's, all in all a great piece of work. It wins Errant's Pick this contest as well. Fantastic job, Meph.

Great work by everyone, I have to say. I think that this contest definitely showcased a variety of interests and a lot of creativity. Just fantastic. Thanks guys!
