Search function was taken down because the archives were getting to be a strain on the servers, or so I heard.

On topic, maybe Lesser Bracers of Archery (5000) or Gloves of Dexterity +2 (4000)?

Both items are from the DMG.

OP beat you to the draw.

Also from the DMG, I'd suggest ring of protection +1 (if you don't have someone with shield of faith around), amulet of natural armor +1 (if you don't have a barkskin slinger), or cloak of resistance +1 (same, except I don't know if anyone ever casts resistance).

Anklets of translocation are from MIC, I think, and are kinda handy for emergencies, though not as crucial for an archer. Also, belt of battle!

How did I miss that? reading fail. And now that I mention it, how is an ECL 6 character affording an energy bow?

Can you get potions of heroics? There is pretty much always a feat out there that archers could benefit from (even if it's just one of the obscure ones), and it has a decent duration, too, even at minimum caster level. The spell is from Spell Compendium, and might be worth looking at, for some type of consumable.

Also, there are a number of spells on the ranger spell list from Spell Compendium that would definitely be wand-worthy. Arrow mind, hunter's mercy, and arrow storm are all cool abilities to add directly to archery skills, and then there is a huge list of skill buffs and such.

Also thanks for all the suggestions

Actually over Hank's Energy Bow I'd have suggested the feat Ancestral Relic (Book of Exalted Deeds, not an exalted feat by the way, but does require Good alignment as well as a requirement for the overall fairly decent Anointed Knight PrC for your Archer) with an appropriate bow type (Great Bow or a Composite Longbow). That way you can one up Hank's Energy Bow by making your relic into the Bow then stacking even better properties on it as you continue to level. Or changing it completely as you level in case you decide you rather have some Icy Burst Splitting Seeking Bane Bow of DOOM instead.

It's gotten to the point where I cannot imagine running an Archer without it.

Well, it's really hard to replace two of Hank's Energy Bow's properties in particular: auto-adjusting Str bonus, and Power Shot. You can borrow the former from Bow of the Wintermoon, I think, but the latter doesn't seem to have any other source at all.

It also deals Force damage (suck on that, ghosts and Damage Reduction!) which is amazing on its own, and the better damage dice (2d6) is gravy on top of it all.

Well yeah. But if I recall correctly the way Ancestral Relic is worded you can just turn a bow into Hank's Energy bow, as you can replicate any magic item of X price or less. So once you hit the magic gold mark for Hank's Bow you can just say "My bow is Hank's Bow". As you surpass that mark you can say "Oh, my bow is Hank's Bow plus splitting."

Unless I'm remembering the feat really incorrectly. Which is possible.

Not specifically for an archer, but a ring of the forcewall (MiC pg 123) Is always a nice item to have laying around.

Instead of a ring of protection, you could get a shadow cloak (DoTU pg 102) for a +1 deflection bonus to AC and a 3/day immediate action 10 foot teleport, or 50% concealment.

can't think of many other things. Archers don't get a terrible lot of support, and your bow the best of it.

Well, the efficient quiver is sufficiently cheap and nice to have for your arrows made of different materials (cold iron, alchemical silver and so on).

That said, we have this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=269705) on the matter...

From Magic of Eberron, we have the Bracers of Wind (http://eberronunlimited.wikidot.com/bracers-of-wind) or as I like to call them, "Bow before my Epic Archerness." The reason I like them? Not because they force ranged attacks against you to take -2 on attack rolls, not because they add +1 competence bonus to your attacks, but because of this little gem:

A faint breeze surrounds you when you wear bracers of wind, occasionally billowing your cloak or hair.

And that's just when they're lying idle. They have a built-in dramatic breeze for those really emotional moments or for when you're standing above your enemies threatening them. Why has Elan not got these already?

It doesn't give you a mechanical advantage, so it doesn't count!

All the plusses in the world cannot stand before the awesome power of Cool.

The warrior with a thousand bonuses will be forgotten next week, but the warrior whose theme song plays at the best times, and whose cape billows even in an airless vacuum will be remembered much longer.

What sourcebook is all of that from? I have a thing for playing archers, and want to know what book I have to show the next DM.

MIC (the abbreviation next to most of the items) is Magic Item Compendium.

Where is the 2d6 greatbow? I know the one in CW is 1d10. Gonna use a ranger in our next game and I want this.
