I was just looking through savage species and i saw this awful magic item.

Fairy Gold: This is a bag containing dried leaves that, for
8 hours after it is found, appear to be d% gold coins. Fey
creatures automatically see through the illusion, but all
others must make Will saves when they interact with the
bag of coins (DC 19).
Caster Level: 11th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, persistent
image, creator must be fey; Market Price: 4,950 gp.
Weight: 2 lb.

So obviously the item is meant to be used to fool you that the bag is gold when is not but seeing as it pretends to be only 1-100gp and it costs 4950gp to make... haha i fooled that guy into accepting my 50gp that i spent almost 5000gp making um yay me..

Any other really aweful magic items you know of

actually it costs something like 2475 to make; 5000 to buy
but if you bought it it's been found so why are you buying a bag of 50gp at 5000 gp? Criminally high conversion rates?

That's absolutely hilarious. "Hey, we found a bag of gold! Oh, curses, it's faerie gold, so it turned into leaves... wait, how much is that bag worth?"
