I'm playing a Gravewalker Witch in a Pathfinder game. I was able to convince the DM to allow me to use some options from the 3.5 book Libris Mortis, including the Summon Undead line of spells. The text of the spell says you can summon a skeleton or zombie of a given size, but doesn't specify what creature it is. So after my level 4 Witch summoned a CR 7 Fire Giant skeleton with Summon Undead II, the DM said that I couldn't exceed the CR of creatures on the equivalent Summon Monster list, which seemed fair, so now I have to go through and figure out the most effective skeletons and zombies. Since they lose their special abilities and feats, I think I really just need the creatures with the highest Strength and Dexterity. I need the following:
SU I: Medium skeleton HD 1, small zombie HD 2 (CR 1/2 or 1/3)
SU II: Large skeleton HD 3, medium zombie HD 4 (CR 1)
SU III: Huge skeleton HD 5, large zombie HD 6 (CR 2)
SU IV: Huge zombie HD 12 (CR 5)
SU I: Medium skeleton HD 1, small zombie HD 2 (CR 1/2 or 1/3)
SU II: Large skeleton HD 3, medium zombie HD 4 (CR 1)
SU III: Huge skeleton HD 5, large zombie HD 6 (CR 2)
SU IV: Huge zombie HD 12 (CR 5)
