Hey playground, as the title says I'm building a character that has two prcs thus far, Anima Mage (10 levels) and Recaster (5 levels) with a base class of Wiz 3 (focused specialist conjurer). At level 18, I'm kinda stumped as to what other prc take next as we have 20 levels to build with. Also I've got two spare feats, and I've got no idea what to do with them. All official sources are fair game. So, I bring my dilemma to my brethren for suggestions with prcs and feats that will fit well with this character.

Feat selection thus far: Bind vestige, Bind vestige (improved), Improved Binding, Empower spell, Extend spell, Maximize spell, Persist spell and Residual Metamagic.

Main Vestige will be Zceryll with some Astaroth (diabolus) use.

Well, for a late game two level dip with full casting you can't go wrong with Abjurent Champion for free quickened abjurations.

Monk 2 with Kung Fu Genius? Also your tactic with anima mage doesn't work, as you won't be able to advance your effective binder level without taking a dip in binder.

Soul Binding Bonus: At each anima mage level, your soul binding ability improves as if you had also gained a level in the binder class. Your anima mage levels and binder levels stack for the purpose of determining your bonus on binding checks, the effectiveness of your vestige-granted abilities, your ability to bind higher-level vestiges, and the number of you can bind.I disagree.

Simply going off what that stated after i thought about it myself. However you are taking two feats which are then lost, as opposed to a single hit in progression and CL which is 'fixed' with either an orange prism ioun stone or if desperate, practised spellcaster.

Ignore Special Requirements is great for avoiding headaches with fussier vestiges. Beyond that you have most of the decent feats. Maybe trade your familiar for Abrupt Jaunt and grab a new one with Obtain Familiar?

I disagree.

Look, this is a hotly debated point and there's no use hashing it out for the umpteenth time here. If the OP gets his DM to approve "Binding advancement with no binder levels" (and it looks like he has) then by all means he should go for it, but suffice to say it would never fly at my table. TL;DR: YMMV.

Oh yes, I'm definitely getting the variant for Abrupt Jaunt, that's half the fun of a focused specialist conjurer. The build is flexible in the sense that I'm not really concerning myself with the nitty gritties of the Soul Binding issue, personally I don't think I need one, but if my DM thinks I need a Binder level, I'd get one.

This is not such a bad idea given that I'd have level 9 spells at level 20 anyway(18th level wiz). I just never considered it because I always build from level 1 up with the firm belief that dropping caster levels/spell known levels is the single most detrimental thing to a caster when advancing. This is actually the first time I'm going to use a class that drops those(Recaster). But your suggestion is solid, I still do come out with level 9 spells so its definitely worth taking a look at.:smallcool:
