Can I take my sweet time making constructs?

As an example, let's say that I'm building a golem worth 50,000 gps, meaning that it will take me 50 days to complete it. However, every day that I am actively working on it, I get 1% of it for free. This may seem nice, getting a golem for half the cost, but could I spend twice the amount of time building it so that I can get the full 100% reduction?

Probably not because it makes absolutely no sense (what with having to pay for some materials, and such. Though to be fair, if you are a caster, you can probably make half of those with your fancy magic wand in the first place), but even if RAW it could be done, I would really love to see a DM that allows it so I can sell him bridges all over the world.
