I'm building a wizard for a campaign and I'd like to play an IotSV. We're starting level 12, so obviously wizard 9/IotSV 3. Grey elf for Int bonus (I rolled good stats, so I can put 16 in Con), no flaws allowed and we can use only core+complete arcane, divine, warrior, adventurer+book of exalted deeds+unearthed arcana.

I picked domain wizard (I have to give up familiar and scribe scroll because of an house rule) and the following feats:
- collegiate wizard
- spell focus (abj)
- greater spell focus (abj)
- skill focus (spellcraft)
- improved initiative
- sculpt spell

I'm supposed to be the party's god, so I took sculpt spell, but I can change both improved initiative and sculpt spell.

Do you think it's a good PC (it's a very difficult campaign)? Would human be a better choice than grey elf as for the race? Is there anything better than improved initiative and sculpt spell that I can pick?

Grey Elf is fine for a wizard. I have to ask, why Domain Specialist? Especially with the houserule of losing your familiar and Scribe Scroll.
I would suggest begging your DM to add Complete Mage to the list of allowable sources so that you can change your levels to Wizard 4/Master Abjurer 5/Initiate 3. Or possibly even delay the Initiate level by one to grab one more level of the Master Specialist PrC. The reason I suggest this PrC is that you gain Skill Focus (Spellcraft) and Greater Spell Focus (Abjuration) as a bonus feat. You also gain a caster level boost to dispelling effects and if you stick in to at level 6, you gain a caster level boost to all Abjuration spells. It is a very nice little class to use, especially to free up feats for later PrCs.

I alredy tried to beg him, but it didn't work, so no complete mage :(

I love master specialist PrC, but I won't be able to take levels in it, plus I have to finish every PrC I take levels in, that's why I think I'm going straight wizard untill 9th level.

I thought about domain specialist because I don't like specialist wizards (although I think focused specialist is good). Abjuration domain is a good one and I'd prepare most of the spells in it anyway, so I basically trade familiar and scribe scrolls for +1 CL on some spells and being able to cast spells of any magic school, wich I think is worth it.

Something to consider if you want a more versatile PC would be to take levels of Mage of the Arcane Order (from Complete Arcane as well) - that gives you a huge amount of versatility (you gain access to literally every spell under 6th level out there, whether it's in your spellbook or not.)

That would be a build more like Wizard 5/MotAO 4/Iot7V 3

Other suggestions for feats would be:

- I'm a fan of Spontaneous Divination (from Complete Champion), which you could pick up at 5th level

- Since you're already taking Spell Focus Abjuration, Energy Abjuration (can't remember if it's from Complete Arcane or Complete Mage) might be useful.

well...since you can't do dips then you don't have much choice on the class levels you take. Wiz/IotSV works for me. It sounds like you don't have much room for negotiation, but I would still try to get the spell compendium added to the list, just to make life easier. I can't remember which book Nerveskitter comes from(other than the SC), but you can use that instead of Imp. Init. or you can use both and have 9+your dex mod for your Init rolls.

Our GM is going to introduce SpC very soon (he translated it in italian for those players who don't understand english very much), but we'll need a quest to find it in game (and it' related to my PC's background), but improved initiative sounds good to me anyway since I'm the god, so having an high initiative score seems quite relevant to me. I took a lesser rod of sculpt spell, 4 10 ft. cubes of glitterdust sounds amazing to me. Do you have any other suggestion for spells of level 1-3 to use with sculpt spell?

Flyby Attack with the wall version of the warding could be fun. And is a solid caster feat in general.
