Ok so Im looking at the prices for use-activated or continuous use magic items. The DMG p.285 says spell level X caster level X2000gp then multiply again based on duration of the spell.
1round/levelx4, 1min/levelx2, 10mins/levelx1.5, 24hours or more divide in half

The example is lantern of revealing. It costs 30,000gp

2 (see invis is lv.2 spell) X 5 (caster level listed as 5) x2000gp= 20,000gp

Times 1.5 (duration of see invis is 10mins/level)= 30,000gp so correct

But ring of invisibility is listed at 20,00gp.... but that's not right
(also note ring of invisibility is listed as the example use-activated magic item on a different page)

2 (invis lv.2) X 3 (caster level listed as 3) x2000gp= 12,000gp

Times 2 (duration is 1min/level)= 24,000gp so 4000gp more than listed.

1. Am i doing this wrong or how did they calculate the 20,000gp price?

2. I made a table to make a continuous use magic item of each spell level did i make this table correct?

LEVEL 1 SPELL- 2,000gpCl.1
LEVEL 2 SPELL- 12,000gpCl.3
LEVEL 3 SPELL- 30,000gpCl.5
LEVEL 4 SPELL- 56,000gpCl.7
LEVEL 5 SPELL- 90,000gpCl.9
LEVEL 6 SPELL- 132,000gpCl.11
LEVEL 7 SPELL- 182,000gpCl.13
LEVEL 8 SPELL- 240,000gpCl.15
LEVEL 9 SPELL- 306,000gpCl.17

Note: it doesn't include the last number you need to multiple by based on duration.

Thanks for your help with my long mathy question

The formula is only a guideline and even then is meant to be a last resort after comparing an item to others of similar effect. Unfortunately that means that the DMG/SRD items are priced as the authors thought they should be, rather than according to any particular formula.

Considering that we just had a thread about this YESTERDAY, I'll leave a link to it instead of repeating myself.
