Hello hello! Howdy dear forum?

Here's the concept:

I run a Pathfinder game and one of my players want to wield 2 shields and while hit with them to also keep his AC. Is this even possible? I have searched and searched and searched but found nothing so far.. Soooooooooo lighten up my thoughts pls

Thank you no matter what!

Improved Shield Bash (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/improved-shield-bash-combat---final) to retain AC...

but Shield bonuses do not stack. So the second shield will not help for AC, but with Two Weapon Fighting feats a second shield could be used in such a manner.

Stacking

Stacking refers to the act of adding together bonuses or penalties that apply to one particular check or statistic. Generally speaking, most bonuses of the same type do not stack. Instead, only the highest bonus applies. Most penalties do stack, meaning that their values are added together. Penalties and bonuses generally stack with one another, meaning that the penalties might negate or exceed part or all of the bonuses, and vice versa.

You can use this (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/3rd-party-feats/4-winds-fantasy-gaming/combat-feats/two-shield-fighting-combat) to get both the AC. But is there a way without shield bashing?

EDIT: Shield Bash is the normal hit with the shield right?

Yes, Shieldbash is the attack with an shield.
Improved Shieldbash let's you retain your Shield Bonus to AC.
Shield Master or Shield Mastery (Feat? or is it a Fighter Archetype ability) grants you the ability to attack with shields without any penalities (Stack Power Attack and Two Weapon Fighting on this and let your player have fun.)

I think you're thinking of the Shield Master (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/shield-master-combat---final) feat, but I'm reasonably sure the line about attack penalties refers to two weapon fighting, not "any" penalty. Otherwise there'd be nothing stopping you from stacking Fighting Defensively, Combat Expertise and Power Attack for +5 AC and +4 damage on each attack while ignoring the whooping -10 penalty.

The phrasing is awkward though, I guess there is a RAW vs RAI argument to be made.

There's a thread on the topic here (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2k22w?Shield-Master).

Edit: I found a post referencing a FAQ regarding Shield Master, but I can't find the FAQ itself. Link to the post is here (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2n8j3?Shield-master-feat-removes-what-penalties#6).

Add Two Weapon Warrior onto this and he gets a dodge bonus while TWFing as well!
