So the party I'm in has up to 8 PCs at any time. My original character(spiked chain fighter)killed himself on a natural 1 in the same battle that our wizard and another melee character died. Melee guy made an archer, and wizard became cleric. Seeing no arcane caster in our group(well there's a bard... I made a funny!) I took it upon myself to make a Conjuror.

I am now looking for advice on how to make God without hogging the light from 7 other people. The rest of the party is:

Spiked Chain Fighter(he and I had a lot of fun), Druid, Bard, Barbarian, Ranger, Archer, Cleric and Myself.

We're at Lvl 10 playing till Lvl 20 and I really just want some tips on how to make my guy obviously powerful, but he isn't flashy about it.

Also, I'm gonna talk to the DM(my roommate) about me betraying the party to the BBEG. If he helps me become a Lich, I will lead his army in conquest of the world.

Edit* Forgot that only core and complete series are allowed

Treantmonk's guide to wizards: playing a god (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=394.0) seems highly relevant to your needs. It basically does exactly what you're asking for.

I've been trying to build a decent Conjuror as well, and I've come across a few things that really stood out...first off, Focused Specialist ACF from Complete Mage...

If you take the time to flip through that thread, Treantmonklvl20, does a fantastic job making his case. Ill never play a regular specialist wizard again!

Second, the Abrupt Jaunt ACF from PHB2
Allows you, as an Immediate action, to teleport 10' a number of times/day equal to your int bonus.

Reserve feats from Complete Mage are awesome if you want to prep more utility/ battlefield control type spells (which, lets face it, if you want to be GOD, you should be doing)

There's the Rapid Summoning ACF. Trade away your familiar to make Summon X spells take a standard action instead of full-round.

The Master Specialist PrC for conjuration will help out your summons a bit. Capstone is three free Quickened conjurations a day.

Malconvoker in Complete Scoundrel is pretty good considering that it's not a full casting PrC (you lose out on the first level). But double the fun of your evil summons is great. Ask your DM if unrestricted conjuration allows you to summon things normally reserved for evil spellcasters.

Summon Elemental reserve feat should be mentioned. Who wouldn't want a little elemental following them around everywhere?

Someone always mentions the Alienist PrC, if only to say DON'T DO IT!

Treantmonk has a Conjuration specific guide as well. (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19869058/Treantmonks_guide_to_Conjuration:_Gods_tools)

Conjurer's handbook. (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19863086/The_Conjurers_Handbook)

Dictum Mortuum's Wizard (http://dictummortuum.blogspot.com/2011/09/wizards-handbook-part-one-attributes.html)Handbook (http://dictummortuum.blogspot.com/2011/09/this-is-second-part-to-wizard-handbook.html).

Not hogging the spotlight is all about battlefield control, buffing yours friends and debuffing your enemies. Avoid direct damage, save or dies, or spells that completely shut down a foe if you want to play nice. Slowed enemies, attribute drained enemies, sickened enemies, etc. are all fun, but dazed or stunned foes just sit there and die.

Even being a god wizard to tone it down I'd recommend being careful to match your opt level to the rest of the party. Eight is already a lot of people for a dm to manage.
