So I want to play a hero in M&M that doesn't ever die & I was wondering if there was a way to get past the "Regenerates a week later" time limit. A lot can happen in a week & I want to make sure I'm back up & ready within at most three days, my character concept is I'm the Centurion that stabbed Jesus with the Lance of Longinus.

You can spend power points to lower the time limit, right down to making a revival check when you die.

Complete and total immortality is 56 ranks (assuming Con 10). That lets you automatically recover one box a round (including incurable damage and regenerating any cut off bits), recover a point of ability damage every round, and if you die, you immediately stand back up. You'll also never die from aging.

9 ranks into Regeneration (Recovery Bonus). You can cut this down 1 rank for every point of Con bonus you have.

6 ranks for Regen (Bruised/Unconscious), 12 for Regen (Injured/Staggered), and 8 for Regen (Disabled). Total of 26.

8 ranks into Regen (Ability Damage).

10 ranks into Regen (Resurrection).

2 ranks to buy the Persistent and Regrowth power feats.

1 rank into Immunity (aging).

Thanks for the help :) & actually the Centurion that stabbed Jesus goes unnamed. "Longinus" was just a bastardized Greek name for spear/lance. (Please don't think I'm a jerk :smalltongue:)

The apocryphal legionary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Longinus) was given the name - originally in the Gospel of Nicodemus - either because he used a longche or because Longinus was a relatively common and historically recognizable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longinus_%28disambiguation%29) Roman name. Cassius Longinus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassius_Longinus) is close to being Roman "John Smith", at least among commonly referenced historical people.

Also, by just taking Longinus as a Romanization of the Greek word for a lance, "Lance of Longinus" is a redundant name for anything anyway, like calling something the Sword of Spatha. It might be safer to refer to it as the Spear of Destiny.

This has been your daily guide to Roman trivia.

Yes one apophrical text names him Longinus but it's because it was a common name & it roughly (very roughly) meant "lance"

It's more like someone becoming famous for wielding a an object & then getting that assigned to their name.

Someone who is famous for a pot being called "John Potter"
Someone who is famous for a library being called "John Book" etc.

Btw the reason I call it the Lance of Longinus is because alteration, since we are all superheros I figure that I should use a bit of alteration.

PS: It depends on what edition you're playing. In 3rd edition, you only need Immortality 4 (http://www.d20herosrd.com/6-powers/effects/effect-descriptions/immortality-defense)to come back two days later, at the cost of 8 points. (4 if it's easy to stop, like driving a stake through your heart or burning your corpse. With Immortality 20 (40 points), you come back to life literally every round.
