There are a few characters I never had a chance to play in 3.5, and I fear if Pathfinder does not have an equivalent, I would miss them. What is the closest thing in Pathfinder to the following:

1) Fiend of Possession

2) Any caster that can turn into an undead (Walker in the waste, Dread Necromancer)

3) Undead character

I know the houserules can allow anything, but I am asking for rules out-of-the-box because chances are we will not be modifying them for some time.

Pretty much any 3.5 content can be used with almost no modification in PF.

A Dhampir (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/other-races/featured-races/arg-dhampir) character might be something worth looking into.

1) Fiend of Possession
Not really any way as far as I am aware. The Gravewalker (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/witch/archetypes/paizo---witch-archetypes/gravewalker) archetype for the witch does have the power to possess one of their minions though.

2) Any caster that can turn into an undead (Walker in the waste, Dread Necromancer)
Undead Bloodline Sorcerer (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/sorcerer/bloodlines/bloodlines-from-paizo/undead-bloodline), Agent of the Grave (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/other-paizo/a-b/agent-of-the-grave), Reanimator (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/archetypes/paizo---alchemist-archetypes/reanimator) (especially with the Mummification discovery) and probably others. I'm getting lazy though.

3) Undead character
Aside from the ones I mentioned above, Dhampir (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/other-races/featured-races/arg-dhampir) is the one that comes quickest to mind.

Also don't forget that PF is compatible with 3.5, so unless your DM explicitly says no, you should be able to port stuff over.

1) Fiend of PossessionPossesion? Hm... Pathfinder has a ton of fiends (Demons, Daemons, Devils, Qlippoths, Asura, Demodand, Divs, Kytons), or at least evil outsiders (Cthulu will be added in the next Bestiary). So... Yeah. I'm sure there is a possession type out there.

I would probably search Demons or Daemons for a possesor type creature first. Asura and Kytons probably won't have one, and I know Demodands don't.

2) Any caster that can turn into an undead (Walker in the waste, Dread Necromancer) There is the Agent of the Grave (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/other-paizo/a-b/agent-of-the-grave) prestige class. That's the closest thing I know of.

3) Undead characterAs others have pointed out, Dhampir is a good pick for this. Vampires (a variety of kinds of Vampires) and Liches are still options, too.

Thank you folks for the quick responses. Our plan is to go diving right into PF, so no 3.5 content unless it is also in PF (think d20pfsrd). A number of suggestions are undead-lite. I mean if it can still die of old age…

It took me a while to read up on them.

I have tried, but could not understand Race Points. Dhampir has RP 11. What does that mean. Guess: When the rest of the party makes 15 point (for starting 6 attributes) characters, I get to make a 4 point (15-11) character?

Gravewalker seems to let you possess your skeleton at level 8 (as magic jar).

I was confused by Agent of the grave. It seemed at 5th level prc (min 10th level char), you could run around finding a vampire to kill you, at which point you lose all 10 level, and become a base vampire?

Reanimator seemed good. At 10th level you become a “living zombie” with mummification. No stat change, but some immunities. Also no type change!

No no no, race points have nothing to do with generating your character. One if the supplements released included rules for home brewing races, and to demonstrate the system Paizo posted the point break-down on many races. The RP show how balanced some races are to others. Dhampir is balanced around 10 point races, like most of the core (human is also 11 points I believe).

As a player, generally ignore race points. They're meant for GMs to determine which races are allowable in a game by showing a rough power comparison in a glance (doubtful any GM is allowing a Drow Noble at 42 points unless the other players have equally extravagant races), or as a systemized way to homebrew a race. It might be possible, if your GM is agreeable, to create an undead Player race together for you from the race builder system if you can't find one that meets your needs, or to recreate the fiend of possession from 3.5

That or it's letting you retrain. I've looked in the source it's really from, and there isn't any example of it.

Perhaps it means you lose all your levels and they are replaced by vampire hit dice for determining your health?
