Ok so I'm reading up on the fire storm spell and it says that I get 2 10 ft cubs of fire/lvl which I can place anywhere I want. The way I'm reading that is that I am capable of just stacking each fireball on top of each other effectively unleashing a hellstorm of fire on a single target causing 1d6/lvl (max 20) per fireball. Am I mistaken by this or is Fire Storm really that broken?

Yes, but the target gets Save and SR against each one (unless you can somehow put it on a Mailman Sorcerer).

The target may not be tall enough to be affected by all cubes.

Anyone who's in the area of the spell takes the listed damage. They don't take the listed damage multiple times for being in the area multiple times: They're just either in the area, or not.

Yeah... no. I'm sorry, but that's not what the spell means. It means that the area of the spell is made up of those cubes.

You can't place a hundred cubes in the same space with the same casting, but you can put them anywhere else.
