During the ride down Liam had used his extra money to make a few adjustments to some of his mons pokeballs. Using a scalpel to remove a small circular part of the red cover he'd then pick out one of a small set of chips he had in his bag and fit them into the slot.

However now they'd arrived at the beach Liam gets changed in the presumably available changing rooms before tossing his bag into one of the outdoor lockers. Once he has done that he lets out Cerb plus Shock (getting their pokeballs out from a handy pocket built into his trunks), Cerb peels off after Liam has a quick talk to him and curls up in the shade under a nearby tree where he can observe the locker from while still being able to relax. Meanwhile Shock and Liam reach the sea and take a running dive in where after a few seconds there's a red flash as Liam lets out his latest mon, the magikarp from the center.

"Good idea, pretty sure some of our pokemon might enjoy the beach. After all we may be away from large bodies of water for a while." Sylvia sent out all of her mons as well. She has Talon rest on her shoulder and Shupply taking her usual spot on her head, before turning to her Sea serpent call Arashi and started to caressed his scales under his jaw, pressure points that she found that seemed to pleased him. She discovered it shortly after he evolved and typically will use it to calm him. "Lets get you into the water and see about finding us bathing suits."

Reg, you can just say whether you went to the beach, went to the bistro with Russ or asked to be dropped off somewhere else.

The beach was pretty busy. Seems more than a few people had come to visit Orre in preparation for the upcoming World Championship League. Just at the edge of the beach was a basketball court, where a friendly game had erupted between a group of Unovans and some local Orrean boys, with the losing team buying the drinks. A group of sexy Sinnohan models were sunbathing, getting more than a few looks. Some Johtan teens had got a volleyball game going, and had drawn quite a crowd, even using their pokemon on the teams. At the edge of the beach, near the road, sat a small bar where people could sit in the shade and enjoy tropical drinks or ice lollies. Across the road, at the edge of the city, was a nice shop called Saxton Fashions where Sylvia and Autumn could find some nice tasteful swimsuits.

The pokemon were enjoying themselves, especially the water pokemon. Shock was surfing on Tan's back, while Arashi had relaxed after his massage and came over to look at the new Magikarp, who was looking rather confused. The Eevee siblings were all just digging around in the sand.

Russ on the other hand got to enjoy more of Christian's tales while on the road. They pulled out of the tourist zone, full of expensive shops and people from abroad, and into a more relaxed part of town. It was the 'Open' side of town, where the Genetics and Orrean businesses ran. While tourists were more than welcome to come to this part of town, and indeed the prices were much lower, it was made clear that Genetics were likely to be found here. Still, the less high strung and less racist of the tourists loved it here. While main street was populated with the expensive fashion shops and posh restaurants, here was the busting market with bust stalls and more rustic food. Christian pulls up his car on the corner of the street, and leads Russ to the dojo.

'THIS IS WERE ALL THE WRESTLING GOES ON. THE BIG MATCHES GO ON AT THE ARENA, BUT THERE ARE NONE ON TODAY. HERE IS WHERE MOST PEOPLE WORK OUT AND PRACTICE. SINCE I AM STILL ON DUTY, JUST COME HERE AFTER YOU EAT AND TELL THEM OLD CHRISTIAN SENT YOU. CATARINA WILL LOOK AFTER YOU. MIGHT EVEN GET YOU A PRACTICE MATCH TODAY. IF SHE LIKES WHAT SHE SEES, SHE'S THE ONE WHO BOOKS THE MATCHES FOR THE ARENA.'

He leads you down a couple side streets, greeting some old men who were playing chess and having a quick chat with a local Arcean priest on who they'd be cheering for in the next Colliseum match. Eventually you come across a nice little cafe, with chairs outside on the veranda. He leads Russ inside, and Russ can already smell all the wonderful tastes assaulting his nose.

'THAT THERE IS MAMA. HEY, MAMA, CHRISTIAN BRING NEW CUSTOMER. HE'S A GOOD KID, NAME IS RUSS. HE HELP OUT KIM AND HER PARTNER KELLAM.'

The large woman in her late 50's comes on over and gives Russ a large smooch on his head.

'Drec cgehho get? Ra muugc yc ev ra'c ypuid du vymm ujan vnus rihkan. L'sana meddma uha. Mama luug oui ib cusa borscht! Christian, oui fyhd cusa vuut vun ouin mihlr du ku?'

'NO MAMA, I GOTTA GET BACK TO WORK. RUSS KNOWS WHERE TO GO AFTER HE FINISHES. HIS LUNCH IS ON ME.' Christian pats Russ on the back and makes his way out, while Mama forcibly steers Russ into a seat and plonks him down.

'Fyed nekrd rana. Borscht eh y sehida.'

Taking a look around, Russ can see the cafe was busy, but not really full. A trio of Mewish Rabbis were having a discussion on if the new League was a good thing or a bad thing after what happened in Pewter. A trio of ninjas were eating some soup in a corner, chatting about a fight they had with a mechanical ninja. Some photographers were discussing about an assignment they were having, something about the Crown Prince of Unova. A rather shy couple, a tall Sinnohan man and a local Beautifly Genetic were having a date, even if both were looking a little shy.

An old waiter comes along with some borscht, a big meat sandwich, a dish of paella and a small hand-made mini-pizza topped with herbs and mushrooms. Oh, and of course a massive salad. 'We don't know what you like, but I'm sure you'll find something here you'll enjoy. Would you like some for your pokemon too? We only ask you not send out pokemon bigger than Christian' He laughs a little, but it probably wasn't a joke. Anything bigger than Christian would probably smash the big thick chairs or bust a hole in the roof.

The Karps reaction wasn't exactly surprising can considering how much time it had spent inside its ball, so Liam was trying to get it re-accustomed to swimming by swimming around it abit before diving under the water for a few seconds and then resurfacing infront of it to see if it got the idea.

Autumn lets her pokemon out to play, or sunbathe in the cases of many of them, mainly the grass-types. The only one that comes with her is Kasai, he was rather protective of Autumn now. The combusken kept up far more easily than he had when he'd been a torchic. She picks up a swimsuit at the shop, grinning as she rememebered Saxton, that was an... interesting day to say the least, then heads back before whistling to Lillian, Ki, Cayman, and Su. Splitting into two teams; Lillian, Kasai, and Autumn on one side with Ki, Cayman, and Su on the other. All six start a game of soccer. Autumn and Ki act as goalies while Lillian, Kasai, Cayman, and Su take to the game. Cayman and Su taking an early lead before Kasai and Lillian start to get some momentum and even out the score before long.

Russ checks over his roster, before realizing that he doesn't even have a big mon. So he takes them all out, and they all enjoy their food. Kuji would totally try to describe a big scene as well, but is probably feeling too drained to do so, and will replace this sentence when he gets an idea. Russ, however, enjoys his portion of the meat sandwich, grinning all the while at his Pokemons' antics.

Soon he finishes lunch, picking himself up and thanking the waiter before recalling all his Pokemon, and sets out for the dojo!

Meanwhile, Emma grabs a swimsuit as well, while her team gets up to shenanigans. Scales slithers off to coil up on Arashi's head, being the biggest snake around. Sirocco, feeling insulted that his splendour had not been asked to surf as well, vine whips his way onto Tan's back, as Orange begins making sandcastles on the beach and promptly laughing as the tide destroys them. Blue finds some particularly big looking chairs and climbs up them, not minding one's overly fat tourist patron before jumping off, flapping his arms frantically.
The tourist, however, probably minds, though Blue's already off for taller pastures by the time he realizes what happened.
Black is digging out a pattern in the sand, while Silver watches with growing curiosity. Once he's satisfied with it-a depiction of the beach, the waves, and the scene-he drags Psychedelic over, who after some barking is convinced to let out a number of spores into it, and then begins to melt the sands, trying to capture the scene. It doesn't work well, but for a dog, that's still a lot of thought put in.
Finally, Pink just finds a towel, lays down, and takes a nap.

The young boy walks on pins and needles as they entered the shop, trying his best to entertain Chi and answer any of his questions while remaining vigilant. As it was the boy felt terribly vulnerable with the group split up, and all of the Ranger's assurances of their safety were worth very little when he knew first hand that his foes could teleport and changed their forms freely; though at least his training would hopefully give him ample warning if Ennis or some other specter attempted to approach them.

Once he was certain that there were no hostile auras nearby he allowed himself a sigh of relief; doing his best to reciprocate Christian's Mother's merry greeting, before sitting down with Russ and bringing out most of his mon. It pained him not to bring Garret out as well, but the poor fella was still far too spirited to remain in such a large gathering without stirring something up; and even then, Damien would not be so cruel as to have him sit in a restaurant of all places while forcing him to ignore the ample amount of food present. That said, he made sure to ask for some Take Out for the troubled pikachu.

As they waited for their meal Damien left the task of catching up the rest of his mon to Aden, who joyfully retold the epic struggle in the air leading up to him saving the day; with Geoff occasionally interjecting to tone down many of the Litwick's hyperbole, and to correct his occasionally 'misremembered' details.

In his defense, Damien did try to enjoy the meal with Russ and his mon; though his mind kept homing in on the conversation of the other patrons, his state off vigilence refusing to relax even with the promise of good company and delicious food. He really couldn't deny some of his mon's claims of him being prone to overworking himself by this point.

As the boy made sure to ask Geoff to telepathically inquire if the gathered shinobi would not mind discussing their encounter with this mechanical ninja with them after they finished their meal, and to ask Russ to wait a bit before heading to the dojo so he'd be around for the meeting if need be; before looking up at the photographers curiously, "Uhm, Excuse me misters," he began, waiting to see if the pair would give him a chance to speak or not before continuing, "Sorry, we just got here a while ago and we haven't had a chance to check the local news yet. Is there some sort of diplomatic conference going on in Orre soon?" he inquired with innocent curiosity, wondering just why a Prince from such a far off country would be visiting Orre.

Beach Crew

Things were hectic down on the beach, what with everyone doing their own thing and having some fun after the life or death battle.

Liam keeps trying to get his Magikarp to swim, and after a couple of demonstrations, it does go under the water. The problem was, when it came back up it was swimming upside down. Still, it looked rather pleased with itself.

The fat tourist Blue had used as a bouncing pad chases after the little guy, but gives up after a short dash and realizes he's too unfit for this sort of thing. Black looks quite pleased with himself, until a life guard gives him a small whack with a newspaper on the nose and points to a "No Fires" sign, and directs him to the barbecue area of the beach if he wishes to continue.

Kenshi looks a little confused, what with all the loud noises and bright sunlight, but Talon grabs him and pulls him up higher where the sky was less crowded and busy. Soon the pair and diving and flying through the air, and Shupply tries to keep up, but not having the speed of a flying type, starts to lag behind.

Autumn and her team attracts a small number of watches, some of the people who were just recently watching the volleyball match. A few small bets pass hands, and most seem to be backing Kasai and his team to win by two goals.

A woman in a bikini and holding a tray is walking around the beach, offering some refreshing MooMoo milks for a discount price $350 a bottle for any takers.

Russ

The big lovable idiot pats his belly and rushes out the restaurant, not hearing Damien as he asks Russ to wait. Russ soon arrives at the door to the dojo.

When he enters, there is a large ring in the middle, and lots of people exercising on the machines and weights around. Form a quick glance around, probably about 30% of the people here were Genetics. Much like the Devil, a good portion of them had luchador masks, as was the Orrean tradition when wrestling. Two glittering golden belts were displayed proudly over the reception desk, along with a collection of photos and trophies. A dark skinned woman with long dark hair and glasses is behind the desk. It was clear just from looking at her that she was no wrestler, but even then, Russ got a strange feeling from her, as if she was more dangerous than the rest of these professionals.

'You lost kid? This is a gym, not a Gym. Tourist section is 3 streets that-a-way. You better head back before a big bad Genetic comes and gobbles you up.'

The nametag hanging from her chest said "Catarina".

Damien

When Geoff tried to read the ninja's minds, he was blocked by some Voltorb Flipping, and the 3 ninjas were a little on edge, looking around to see who was spying on them. Luckily, they didn't think to suspect a pokemon, despite Geoff being a few feet away.

'You not one for the news kid?' The photographer shrugs as Damien asks what's going on. 'There is a gathering of the crème de la crème of pokemon society. The sponsors of the big world tournament are here to examine the Colosseum and the preparations for the World Championship.'

'Yeah. Alister Stone, acting-chairman of Devon. We got him at the library. Mr Deoh, owner of Pokewood studios. He gave us a nice interview. Let slip about his next film, something to do with a tribute to the late Cynthia. Speaking of Cynthia, we even got her son Charles, booking a trip to the Agate ruins.'

'So we are looking at the rest of the bounty. We want to get Roxie, but she's next to impossible to find. She's likely already off into the desert, looking for inspiration on her new album. We heard Liz Freidrich's kid is here, but no one even knows what she looks like. Pity, interview with her could lead to big bucks, what with the passing of her grandmother and Liz inheriting the estate. We got a snap of Bugsy down by the docks, but he confiscated our cameras. And when we did see Miss Elesa, her body-guard chased us away. We were hoping to talk about the rumors of her modeling the new Saxton line.'

'But you see, those are all small fries. The big attraction is the Royal couple. Rumor is, the Crown Prince of Unova has a thing for Princess Anabella of Hoenn, the kings middle daughter. Both are even here for the inspection. But no one can get a picture of the two together. Anabella was spotted down by the Genetics orphanage, reading to some of the kids. Dunno how real her emotions are, but she's often seen doing charity work like that. The Prince on the other-hand has been hanging about in the light-house. Interest in tech, that guy. Chances are he'll visit the robot Professor or the Gym Leader too.'

'Yeah, if someone got a picture of those two together, or even confirmation on if this pairing is real or not, that person could be making a small fortune.'

All of Russ and Damien's pokemon who ate the food have a small happiness increase and gain a boosted +1 to power and overland for the day, while Russ and Damien get a bonus +1 STR modifier for the rest of the day.

Damien nods in acknowledgement thanking them both for answering him, before turning back to his food happily, if a little frustrated by Russ departure and the shinobi trio's reactions. He'd really been hoping to be able to talk with them without making much of a scene. On the bright side the food was positively scrumptious, and all of his Mon seemed to be enjoying themselves; though it did make Garret's absence a greater shame. Atleast the little guy would still get some good food out of it.

For a while the young mystic contented himself having a nice time with his Mon, until finally working up enough courage to go over to the trio once his Mon had just about finished their plates; having decided that any more subtlety would likely cause them to become even more paranoid concerning his intentions. "Uhm, excuse me," he inquired nervously while looking as nonthreatening as the young teen could, waiting for the trio to scope him out and give him the go ahead before approaching any further.

The three ninjas look at him warily, but don't seem keen on starting anything after Christian's Mama walks by. Even ninjas would fear that woman's scolding.

'Yes?' The leader of the trio seemed to be a girl a little older than him, with long curly pink hair. The other 2 were a short skinny man with a strange mask that looked like a cross between a vulpix and a pikachu or something, and a man in his early 20's with an eye-patch.

'Listen, kid, you wanna practice weigh lifting then head to the beach. You just wanting to brawl, I can direct you to some nasty alleys where you are sure to get jumped. This here is where grown up's come to get serious. You think just cos you've got some muscle on you that you can cut it?' She leans forward and looks at you with an inquisitive eye.

Liam treads water long enough to whistle to Shock who slides down Tans tail and swims over to see what's going on. After getting the idea explained to him Shock moves over to act as a stabilizer for the Karp while Liam swims ahead both above and below the water. Taking the Karp for a circuit through the sea.

The woman looks a little annoyed. 'Fine, if Chris says so, I suppose I owe you at least a chance. So what's your moniker, kid? Your wrestling name. You a face or a heel? You ever used performance enhancing drugs? Are you a genetic or are you related to one? Do you fight with a mask or cape or other fashion gimmicks?' She pulls out a tape measure. 'C'mon, take that top off. I haven't got all day.'

You get the feeling this was more like a farmer would inspect new cattle or a person would buy a new car than a normal interview.

The girl looks at you a bit confused. 'Why would you want to know? I take it you were the one trying to listen in on us?'

The man in the mask kicks a chair over to you. 'I am guessing you have also encountered these .... people? Why else would you approach a group of armed ninja who outnumber you?' He gestures to the chair. 'Perhaps an exchange of information is in order?'

With Shock and Liam to guide it, the Magikarp seems to improve, and soon swims as well as Arashi did pre-evolution. Even if it still looked a little puzzled by where it was and who it's new owner was. Still, it at least looked happy.

Russ quickly takes his shirt off, answering her questions. "SEISMIC TOSS! Uh, face, I guess. Nope! Completely clean. My mom turned into a Genetic after I was born. Does that count?" The way he nonchalantly said that surprised him. "Uh, nah, I don't." It was probably a bad idea to bust out the legendary mask here, or his souvenir mask he got from one of the wrestlers. Plus, MAN was wearing that now anyways.

Seeing that the Karp wouldn't somehow drown while he was talking to it Liam swims closer to the shore until he can stand with his head above the water, then thanks Shock for the assistance with a small salute. Once Shock is sure the Karp isn't going to tip he returns the salute before swimming off and trying to get back onto Tans back with a quick water gun assisted jump.

Returning his attention to the Karp has a go at explaining the situation to the fish.

"Well it seems you where stuck in a Pokeball for a pretty long time, probably decades in fact. Currently your in Orre which is obviously a long way away from your home in Kanto which i think is that way incase you want to try and swim back."

After pointing in the general direction of Kanto Liam points back to himself.

"I'm Liam by the way incase you were wondering."

Once he'd finished Liam watches the fish to see if it seemed to understand, based on its Pokedex entry he wasn't really expecting much.

While this was going on Cerb relaxing in the shade of a tree, his rings pulsing slowly and faintly as he used his stealth ability to stay unnoticed.

It doesn't take long for the ten goal limit to be reached, Kasai blazing the ball past Ki for the final goal. Autumn pets the team as they cheer or slump in defeat, usually if Kasai was on a team it won, though Ki and Su paired together did give him a lot of trouble with their combined defense, and Cayman for a few fast tail slaps gave a fair enough offense. With Autumn as the goalie and Lillian for passing, it was a fairly even game, Kasai just had enough natural talent to come out on top more often than not.

Once the mon had a chance to rest and laugh off the result of the game, Autumn looks at the crowd, "anyone up for a match?" she asks. Her pokemon actually perked up and paid more attention, it was obvious they were interested in this.

Damien smiles abashedly, keeping tabs with his pokemon to make sure their auras didn't go hostile, before sitting down with the group of wary nins, "Yeah, I have; they attacked me and some of my friends a while back, stole from us and kidnapped some of our mon. My group's sort of looking for them right now," he adds apologeticly

Happy to see Kenshi getting along so well with Talon, Sylvia calls out to Shupply. "Come on Shupply, lets go have our own fun." The adorable ghost took up residence in her usual spot while the ninja went to go fetch her baby Rocza, not wanting to leave her out of the fun while most of her other pokemon were digging in the sand with the eevee siblings, except Ashe the Minccino. Poor thing was probably driving herself nuts with all her team mates dirtying themselves in sand.

Amelia though was simply basking in the sun for now, a safe distance from the water. While Kaybu had already submerged herself past into the waves lapping at the shore.

After recovering the young serpent, Sylvia approaches Emma. "So, Shall we hit the water now? Possibility a rematch race with our sea serpents later?"

The woman gets up and pulls out a tape measure, measuring his chest and biceps. 'Not a big deal, you'd have to take a blood test anyway. Except for a few divisions, we keep human and genetic matches separate. Not fair when someone can not only bench-press the same as you, but also breath lightning. It also doubles as a drugs test.' She grabs his face, turning it side-to-side. 'Not exactly a model, but not too bad on the eyes either.'

She steps back and examines him. 'Hmm, not great, but not bad. Probably a 6 out of 10 so far. I suppose I can give you a chance for Chris's sake. Ok, you want a match, then hop in the ring and show me a good performance against one of my guys. Cusauha kad eh drana yht ku ib ykyehcd drec knaahrunh!' At her yelling, three of the guys get off the equipment and head on over to the ring. A quick rock-paper-scissors match, and his opponent is decided.

Liam

Liam give a few seconds for this all to sink into the Karp's mind. Thena few more. After a while, it seems like the fish is just spacing out, when suddenly it finishes contemplating this and starts to splash about happily, soaking Liam with saltwater.

Sylvia and Emma

If you guys want to race again, same rules as the sledding race:

(both of you roll me a d100 + a dexterity roll + a wisdom roll + your pokemon's surface speed. highest one wins the race)
Winner gets a small xp bonus

Damien

The three ninjas contemplate what Damien said. 'Nothing new, but it confirms what we're experienced. Though they never stole a pokemon from us. But we do think they are responsible for some of our missing comrades.' The masked ninja seemed to be the brains of the group.

'And they tried to attack me not long after I got my sword' the female ninja chips in. She waves her scabbard at Damien, and he notices it looks similar to Sylvia's sword, except with a green handle. 'There was a powerful one, armed with a flaming sword similar to this one. He even overpowered us, despite the fact we were stronger than the normal robo-ninjas. That's why we came here. Since it's likely they are robots, we came to interrogate the Professor here. Seems she's involved in developing A.I., seems likely she's involved with these robots.'

Autumn

After a few shared glances and a few collecting of bets, one young Sinnohan man comes forward. 'I wouldn't mind a quick match.' He takes off his floral shirt and tosses it to the girl he was with, then releases a Snorlax and a Victreebel. 'Another 3 on 3 match with a $1000 bet?'

She gives a grin before heading to the water first.
"C'mon, let's get some practice first!"
She swims out to Tan, and begins practicing keeping her balance on the milotic while Shock and Sirocco mimic her. Meanwhile, Black whines, ears drooping at the newspaper before heading off to the barbecue section, while Silver gives a small laugh and heads to watch the surfer girls.

Liam splashes the Karp back before looking around, he needed someway to train the Karp but didn't really feel like doing anything too serious. After summarizing that the Karp must have quite strong jaws due to its knowledge of Ice fang Liam comes up with what he thought would be quite an interesting game.

Swimming over to Tan and pointing the Karp over to Arashi they both grab hold of the tails of the serpents, Liam grabbing just above the Fan of Tans tail and the Karp grabbing the tip of Arashis tail (although he is careful not to piss off the evolved mon). This way when the serpents wanted to go full speed it would be akin to riding a bucking tauros machine. Obviously the winner would be the one who held on longer.

Probably Str checks and i think both have +1 to those.

Sylvia swims out with Emma and climbs onto Arashi's back, greeting Scales when she makes her way up to the serpent's head. "Hello there," she then addressed both the ekans and gyarados while finding a good footing on the latter's head without causing too much discomfort to him. "We're about to have a rematch for that race we did down the mountain. Up for it Arashi?"

The sea serpent nodded happily, excited for a chance to even the score, before noticing a slight tug on his tail which prompt both him and his trainer to look down. To see the karp holding on to the tail. "Um, you sure you want be hold on? Their going to be moving really fast."

The Fish Race

The two sea serpents set off, flying through the water. They go so fast that it's not long before Liam and the Magikarp come off, with the fish hanging on slightly longer. Soon however, it becomes obvious that Ta has this race in the bag, and wins by a good second and a half over Arashi.

800 xp for Tan, 400 for Arashi, and 80 for the Karp

The Wrestler

Russ climbs into the ring, and the other wrestler reaches out and helps him up. Just as Russ is about to let go, he's sure he feels the other wrestler quickly give his butt a quick squeeze. 'Well, well, well. Looks like I found a right cutie.' He puckers and blows Russ a quick kiss, leaving the think headed Wrestler confused.

'Careful about that one. Alistair can fight dirty if he wants to. Heel through and through.'

Flatter. Russ is now confused. Stupid sexy wrestler!

Autumn

The man looks a little bored when you offer a friendly match with no bet. He balances the ball on his head. 'Well, sure, we could. But where is the fun in that. How about this? You want to put your bird up for bet? Looks like he's pretty skilled with a ball.' He drops the ball onto his foot and preforms some keepy-ups.

'That is, unless you're too afraid?' He shifts and kicks the ball at Kasai, who easily catches the ball in one foot.

Liam goes flying after a strong whip of Tans fan and lands on the beach with a fairly hefty thud but manages to regain his head in time to catch the Karp that had been sent flying a few moments after him. After deciding that was probably enough fun for the Karp for one day Liam returns it to its ball before taking a look around the beach for something to do.

Deciding that could do with a drink he heads over to the bar getting himself a beer and letting out Silk for an ice lolly since apparently bugs liked sweet things after all. Once they've been served Liam scratches the bug behind its antennas while he enjoys his drink and keeps his eyes open for anything interesting.

He had almost been surprised at well he had gotten along with the bug during Surges training and its array of status causing attacks plus its harmless look had come in handy more than a few times as well, so it deserved alittle treat.

'Assuming this is not all a trap, of course. I doubt the young man is lying, but we can never be too sure.'

'Unfortunately, we need to take a risk. Gathering intel will be key to victory.'

'So it seems...' The third ninja stays silent, but nods in agreement.

Beach group

A young man in a suit approaches Autumn as she walks away. 'Good choice. That man is a professional soccer player, here on vacation. Highly likely he wished to scam you of either money or your skilled pokemon. If you want a friendly match perhaps ...' He trails off as he stares behind Autumn, out to sea. 'What in the Void?'

A few screams and yells come from the ocean as everyone seems to be clambering out of the sea. Even Tan and Arashi swim up to the coast so fast that they beach themselves rather than stay in.

About a hundred yards out to sea, there was a large mass of brown water that suddenly appeared. And it seemed to be spreading. No one wanted to take their chances in there.

'Everyone stay out of the water till we find out what's going on. Someone contact the rangers and the gym leader!' The man in the suit lets out a Noctowl and heads towards the waters edge to get a better look.

Neither Liam's loyalty scanner nor Emma's empathic abilities seems to pick it up as a living being.

Sylvia, seeing how both sea serpents were reacting, quickly swam up to the shore taking both Shupply and Rozca with her. Once upon the shore moves back from the shore line aways, not wanting whatever in the water go get to her. "Talon," She called out to the bird. "Do you see something from up there? Ether way both you and Kenshi fall back, don't want you two to get caught up in something." She added while she strained her eyes to try and make out anything in the distance.

Liam makes sure Shock is ok before going back to his locker where he picks up his stuff and recalls all his team, replacing them with Ilm. Once he'd put all his clothes back on he and Ilm go down to just above the brown slick where he puts up 3m of lightscreen barriers infront and 2m on each side before closing off the back as well as any holes with a reflect barrier, in the grand scheme it wasn't to much but it would be interesting to see how the sludge would react to it. As well as getting him a nice close look. He also checks the horizon for any ships passing nearby that could be leaking oil.

Yeah, every water pokemon got out, I just specified the two non-land walkers so no-one wondered about them.

Liam observes the water simple pass through the light-screens. 'Hmm, they pass through as would normal water or air, so it's not a pokemon or some sort of attack. It must be some sort of pollution.'

Sylvia can't make out much with the cloudy water. It just seemed to be spreading, and not really diluting in the water. It was likely immiscible with water, so it wasn't mixing with the water, it was merely displacing it.

Russ

Catarina watches as Russ continues to look around flustered, even tripping over the ring ropes. She walks over to the edge of the ring and climbs up. She gives Russ a good whack on the back of the head (dealing 5 unresisted typeless damage) and knocks some sense into him (curing him of confusion).

'I'm not here to watch you two prance and pose. Get in there or I'll turf you both out onto the street!'

The opponent realises he shouldn't piss off his boss, and aims a kick right at the Alkamy family jewels, but Russ just manages to dodge.

The masked ninja nods. 'Let's not exchange numbers just yet, for safety. We can do that once both sides are sure we wish to work together.'

'As for names, the paranoid one over there is Hiroshi.' The masked man nods his head. 'He's the senior tactician of my clan. He's here to advise us and ensure our safety, though I am currently in-charge. Forgive his curt manners but he means well. The silent one is Viper, my cousin. And I ...' she gave a little flourish. 'I am Lady Sylvia Rosesong, daughter of the clan leader and future head of the Rosesong clan of ninjas.'

'And the only reason she's in charge is because she's the Little Princess of the clan' chips in Viper for the first time, talking with a much deeper voice than you'd expect.

Liam watches as the brown stuff passes though his barrier and retreats back above the surf while he thinks of what to do. Not having any testing equipment with him and collecting samples possibly being dangerous he settles on searching for the source of the slick.

Resigning himself to the fact he was going to have to make abit of a scene he lets out Lao to use for transport, hopefully the rest of the people on the beach wouldn't be to put out. After all there was a world tournament going on.

Landing on the beach with a thud the Aerodactyl takes a few moments to stretch its wings before letting out a roar that probably shook the bottles in the bar. Once it had finished showing off it stares down its snout at Liam making sure to show of its teeth at the same time.

Liam tries to maintain his composure while the Aero was roaring (after all Lao seemed to be one that wouldn't respond well to being a weak trainers mon) and brushes some of the stirred up sand off his jacket once the Aero has finished then meets its gaze.

"Feeling stronger since you where last out? I made a few upgrades to your ball... but I guess that doesn't really matter at the moment.

We need a lift over the sea to see where that brown liquid is coming from think your up to it? Might be a long way out after all."

Listening to Liam talk Lao leans down until he was only about half a meter away before he suddenly exhales, knocking Liam back into the sand. Once that was done he gives another of his mocking bows before shifting so everyone can get on.

Lao should be able to take at least 3 now with his power upgrade so the others can come on him or stay or find their own way, whatever tickles your fancy.

The man is slammed to the ground, but then uses his position to sweep the legs out from under Russ, Slamming him to the floor for 54 p normal damage, feeling the pain as both get back on their feet.

'Let us not waste time then. Tonight, at 8 o'clock. We can meet outside the Krabby Klub. If we both agree, then we can move the discussion into one of the back rooms of the venue. Let us not book ahead so no one can prepare to listen in, a quick bribe from us should secure the room with no questions asked.' The other two nod their agreement to the plan. 'Will that satisfy you, Mr Damien?'

Beach group

Lao takes to the air with Liam on his back, but even the mighty Aero doesn't fly too close to the strange water. From above, there was nothing really to see except the spread of the contaminant. Whatever was causing it was clearly underneath the water and coming up.

'The only way to see where it's coming from would be to go under the water, and that in itself is too risky if we don't know what it is. It's most likely a leak in one of the underground pipes from the water treatment plant. They make sure to clean the water before letting it back out into the sea, so if this has occurred, something must be up at the treatment plant.' The man bows to Sylvia and Emma as Liam falls from the sky a few feet away, dumped off Lao as they returned. 'If you wish, I can inform the Gym Leader about this. You guys can go on with your holiday. As you said, the authorities can handle this.'

Lao gives a small giggle as Liam extracts himself from the sand, before landing and helping himself to a picnic basket that someone had left behind when the majority of people got away from the sea. If the owner was one of the people who had remained behind, they made no attempt to get the Aero away.

Lao picks up the entire basket in his mouth and chomps down on it, eating the food and the basket itself.

I suppose I can help you this time, since you recognize my greatness. Just don't make it a habit. I have no desire to go into that water myself.

The Aero ends down and allows the pair onto it's back. It takes off and flies out over the pollution. Looking down, you spot a small fishing boat stuck on the other side of the sludge wondering how to get past, and a couple of kids who were sitting on the back of their surfing Bibarel who hadn't noticed it yet.

Liam and Autumn

'That's one impressive pokemon you have there' the man says as he watches Lao fly off. 'C'mon, the gym is this way.'

He leads the pair past a couple side streets, out of the touristy part of town. Eventually you reach the Gym, which was located near the coast. It looked like the gym was closed though. Instead of entering the gym, the man goes into a small unmarked building right next to it.

'Ratchet? You in here?' He looks about the large empty hall, and pokes his head into a side office. 'Looks like he's down below. Ratchet is not only the town's Water type gym leader, he's the man in charge of the whole town's plumbing. Since Orre is most desert, water is a big deal over here.'

He moves over to the wall, where a large screen was placed above a hatch. He taps the screen and it comes to life. A large map comes up of the underground sewer system, and by using the touchscreen, the guy rotates it, getting a 3d view of the sewers. There were some dots moving around inside it.

'Ah, see. Here he is!' He points to a white dot, next to a couple gold dots and some red ones. 'Hmm, the gold is his pokemon, and the red dots are unidentified. The funny thing is, he's here...' He draws a line with his finger. 'and the blockage seems to be over here.' That part of the map seemed to be flashing red. There was also other red dots on the map, but they mostly seemed isolated. Other than the ones surrounding the gold dots, there was only one other group of reds, a small cluster of them, and they seemed to be heading towards Ratchet and his team.

'I better go down and warn him about what's going on up here and see if he needs help. If you're coming, watch your feet. It's not nice down here.' He twist the handle on the hatch and pulls it open, before grabbing a small lantern off the wall and climbing down. You see the flash of a ball as the guy releases a pokemon, and hear the words 'Chinchou!' come from below.

The man replies to the slamming by smashing his head into Russ's face, causing 43 p normal damage.

The trio stumble through the sewers, eventually coming to where Charles said Ratchet should be. Before you all round the corner, you hear the sound of a battle round the corner. Peeking round, you spot a man in overalls battling a woman. The man took a swipe at a Beedrill with his wrench, while a a Poliwrath and a Nidoking were grappling each other in the centre. A large blastoise attempted to charge at the woman, probably a Skull Bash, but she jumped in the air and deflected the attack with an electric guitar to the face of the Blastoise, sending it flying past and into the wall. Behind the man floated a small gold Magnemite.

Charles whispers back to you. 'That's Ratchet, but I'm not sure who that is he's fighting with. And considering Ratchet himself is fighting, I don't think this is a gym battle.'

Autumn was getting a strange feeling, but couldn't quite pin down what. Not yet anyway.

Damien nods before excusing himself and returning to his own table to finish his meals, only to meet the disappointed gaze of some of his mon due to how short their vacation seemed to have been cut; thankfully this fact was at least alleviated by the fact that he had not gone out searching for this lead. Kaleb himself defended Damien's actions well, reminding them what had happened to their fellows at the hands of these cyber nins; interrupting business for pleasure was a small cost for stopping these wretched things from spreading their suffering. Given that few of the mon present could argue the points brought up dinner resumed, in reluctant acceptance to some.

At the conclusion of the meal Damien approaches the waiter, curious if their was some place he could go to to feed one of his mon in private; explaining the poor thing was still a bit wild and awfully skittish around most folk, and he wished to avoid any undesirable accidents.

The waiter asks Christian's Mama, and then goes and unlocks a private room at the back. It was a large room, with a long table in the middle that could sit 20 or so, and a bar at the side, currently un-stocked. Seems like this was a room for large parties to book out when they wanted a big dinner. The waiter brings a couple extra portions of food and then leaves Damien in peace.

Russ manages to hold him down for one ... for two ... and then the three cou ....No! At the last second the man manages to break free of the pin.

The two break and get back to their feet, ready to resume the match.

Sewer Fight

The woman swings her guitar round, blocking her eyes, and the sleep powder was easily blown away by all the fighting going on in the cramped tunnels. The Beedrill goes down, but quick as a flash the girl sends out a Crobat, and the flash of the ball blinds everyone.

Enter Like Lightning, +1 on all AC checks.

The Nidoking slams the Poliwrath to the ground, and starts to pound on it. The girl dodges to the side of the Blastoise with a graceful spin, then jams her guitar into it's face before strumming out some chords, leaving the giant turtle looking confused. She flicks her wrist and the Crobat flies towards the trio, aiming a Sludge bomb but just barely missing.

Russ

The man dodges the attack, and quickly points behind Russ. 'Look, cookies!'

The man looks a little unsteady on his feet, and picks up Russ attempting to Slam him, but the younger man just slips free of his grasp.

Sewer

The machete hits the Crobat, but it doesn't even blink, tanking the hit. It dodges the Slash, but looks a little shaken by the Spark. The Nidoking can't dodge like the Crobat, and gets hit. The girl manages to deflect the shot with her instrument, but gets hit by Ilm twice in the face.

The Nido drill runs the Chinchou, knocking it around with a critical hit before the girl Round Trips in a Wheezing.

The Crobat uses it's speed and it's powerful Wing Attack to hit Ilm, Autumn, Su and Charles, with only Lillian and Liam dodging. They all take 40 p flying damage.

The older woman shifts closer to the middle of the battlefield, then slams her guitar into the solid concrete floor, splashing up water. 'Why is everyone in Orre attacking me, Arceus judge it!' She strums a powerful riff on her guitar, and the entire ground shakes and rocks violently. Every creature without flying or levetation (like her own pokemon) take 68 p ground damage. Both Charles's Chinchou and Ratchet's gold Magnemite are knocked out cold.

'Gah, not much time left before more of you arrive!' She gazes behind you down the tunnel and Autumn can feel the presence coming closer.

Autumn can feel 4 unknown Shadow Pokemon losing in on the group, they are likely a couple turns away.

Autumn calls out to Liam, then she looks to the lady, "just wanted to stop the fight, there's something happening at the beach and we need his help now, it's why we tried to use sleep attacks on you rather than just attacking outright from the beginning," Autumn says, weathering both the strikes easily enough, a barrier forming under her feet when the earthquake would have hit, preventing all damage done to herself, "just stop fighting already so we can stop that oil slick or whatever it is from spreading!"

As the indicators on Yvain and Ilms pokeballs go dark Liam goes quiet for a few seconds before speaking, his voice sounding as threatening as it ever has even though it and infact his whole body shaking with either rage or sadness.

“I don’t know who in the void you are and as of now I don’t care.
Now let me show you something Iris showed me before I send you to meet Arceus”

Taking two more pokeballs out of his jacket Liam releases two more mons.
“Shrike, Cerberus! Take her down!”

Almost instantly out of the ball Shrike barrels towards the girl letting Liams rage surge through him and empower his attack.

Cerb has a few seconds to look around to see Liam and almost flinches when Liam comes into his field of view. However after the moment has passed he also pounces at the woman using the opening proved by Shrike.

Once they’re on their way Liam goes to his knees pretty much forgetting about the battle going on apart from a basic sense of what was happening and pulls the quickly fading mons in close before starting to pray and even plead for some sort of outside assistance. His eyes only open so he could keep an eye on all four of his team even through the haze.

“Damn it, Arceus help me… Give me something I can use to help… Let them help themselves, anything just help them! I’ll pay any price. Just don’t let them die down here.”

Still shaking and with his mind racing for any way out Liam puts his palm on the egg case in his bag with one hand while cradling the pair in his other arm. Forcing his mind out as much as he could considering he wasn’t psychic and only not smashing the egg case to provide a better contact point to the egg by the last logical part of his mind fearing for the baby inside.

Please tell me your like Chi and can heal Please… Iris gave me you for a reason now prove it and help them please!

The last sentence hangs in his mind for a long time and if had been spoken would have been a scream.

Charles comes over to Liam. 'Quick, let me have a look. I can help.' He quickly pulls out a medic case, and Yvain starts breathing again.

The two pokemon charge at the woman, and while Shike is fast enough to hit her, Cerb is not.

While Liam holds the egg, his hand starts to get warm. Then a flash of light hits Autumn, Liam, Charles and the woman in the chest. Each of them take 20 unresisted damage, then the light shoots into Ilm.

When Liam opens his eyes again, he feels much stronger. Strong enough to beat the woman. Stronger than he's ever felt, even stronger than Russ. He hefts the guitar in his hand, and it feels like he could smash someone's skull with it. But why was he wearing a skirt...? And why did he know there were over 20 poison type pokemon in this sewer, with 4 very dangerous ones coming this way?

Autumn felt a bit woozy, and she could no longer sense the Shadow pokemon. She looked down at Yvain, who was cradling in her arms, and noticed a medic's bag next to her. How come she could name every one of those tools? And why was her body feeling much weaker and slower than usual? She felt so fragile compared to normal.

All the pokemon and Ratchet were looking up at a strange blue pokemon who was cradling Ilm, and for some reason Autumn knew it was Phione, the 'Almost-Legedary' pokemon, a failed experiment of breeding Manaphy for the 5 pixies program. And she knew this one was strange in that it knew Tail Glow and Heart Swap despite being just born.

Before Liam could react, he sees himself come running towards him and swinging his gun, pistol whipping him in the face. He takes 28 p damage before his DR.

'I don't care what you did to me, I'll kill you for hurting them you bastard, my body or not!' says Not-Liam.

"Liam" almost loses his balance in the new body the muscles in it not reacting as he expects, after a few moments he manages to get a sense for it and returns "his" attack by shoulder charging his own body into a wall and pinning it up by a forearm to the throat. Shrike moves to assist his body while Cerb looks on confused, however after "Liam" whistles a quick tune Shrike stops and looks around, confused as well.

Rage calmed by the sheer bizarreness of the situation Liam asks whoever is in his body.

"What in voids name are you talking about. The only one who hurt anyone down here was you. And speak quickly before I figure out which body I have to kill."

Waiting for a reply "Liam" tries to get a view the rest of his team, last he'd seen Yvain had been breathing but he didn't know if Ilm had managed to survive as well.

"Are they both ok?"

Suddenly you realize that while everyone else was fighting and body swapping, Ratchet had grabbed his broken golden Magnemite and was making a run for it.

'They will live Master. I had to take a bit of everyone's life to keep this one alive, but it will survive. Oh, wait, are you my master? I kinda got mixed up when I accidentally swapped all the bodies. Sorry.' The Phione smiles and looks a little embarrassed. 'I'll tell all the pokemon who is their master.'

Before anyone can think of running after Ratchet, a shadowy form floats up through the floor and blocks the way.

Damien thanks them before entering the room and returning his larger Mon, before locking the door behind him and double checking the room to ensure it was safe to bring Gary out; the boy reaching for electrical tap and placing it over any exposed outlet and using a light air freshener where needed.

After all, while Gary was a lot better now then he used to be, he was still an impish fello and it was best not to tempt him if possible. Once the room was up to snuff, he'd finish returning all of his pokemon except Kaleb, Yanko, Darren and Aden; sighing before turning to Chi. "Whelp, I'll see you in abut then," he quipped, shield in hand before getting ready to return Chi. If all went well, the boy would give out a final sigh before having his Mon take their positions and bringing out Volt Eater; the young mystic making sure none of the Mon stood in between its materializing form and the food.

Left an opening incase Chi reacts to Phione's birth notably.

As a reminder I believe you mentioned VE's loyalty rating was somewhere between 1.5 and 2 last we spoke of it.

As the boat workers were about to start following Emma steering Lao, a giant tentacle pierces through the bottom of the boat, smashing the deck and knocking about the fishermen.

Something big was moving about under the water. Something really big.

In the restaurant

Just as Damien was about to return Chi, the little guy waved his arms, clearly in a panic.

'Wait! Wait, something bad is happening! I'm pretty sure I can sense something.' His eyes shot between looking down below at the floor, and then looking out west, to the sea, as if unsure of which way to be concentrating.

Under the ground

"Liam" (Roxie) and Shrike both rush the Haunters, and both manage to hit the first while the 2nd easily dodges the attacks. Before Cerb can join in though, the Haunters grab "Liam" (Roxie) and his team, and pull them through the floor of the sewers. While getting dragged down, Cerb is hypnotised asleep, while the other hit "Liam" (Roxie) and Shrike for 41 s rock damage.

Cerb was put to sleep due to init order, so if he wakes this turn you can use the dice roll from that post.

Charles (Autumn) does as instructed by Autumn (Charles), bringing out Sadi. 'Umm, I have a Chansey on my left hip if you'd be so kind.' Roxie (Liam) meanwhile aims a pistol at the Haunters, but misses. 'Damn, not used to this thing, it's throwing off my aim!' she shouts, waving the Snagger gauntlet about that Liam always wore.

Her Crobat rushes at one of the Haunter and misses due to the ghosts impressive speed, and her Weezing makes a substitute.

Sylvia was unable to make anything out through the murky waters, but thought she seen another tentacle. Or 2? Can't really say for sure.

Emma tries to read the things mind, but it doesn't seem to even notice her attempts to communicate. It was like a tiny Joltik trying to get the attention of a gigantic Steelix. But she could hear it's thoughts.

'I .... STRONG NOW.... AWAKE! STRENGTH!'

The boat shakes vigorously, throwing the crewmen around.

Chi's attention shoots towards the direction of the beach.

'Something bad over that way! Something big and bad and definitely not nice! It's the scariest thing I've ever sensed since that creature escaped during the battle for Pewter.'

He rushes towards the door, before stopping and turning back to Damien. 'Damien, we have to go help! We're heroes, we need to help people. We can't just sit and hide here!'

The Crowbat cuts through the two Haunter in the upper floor, but before it can turn round, the two jump on it, hitting it with powerful Paybacks and knocking it viciously to the ground.

'Crap, I can't return my Crowbat without my ball belt!'

The Phione, sensing things were going bad, jumped into Charles's medical bag, which Autumn was currently holding.

Down below, Liam the rock star releases the two pokemon. The Haunter both shoot out powerful shadow balls, and they collide off the Empoleon, who looks to Liam expectantly. The Skuntank snorts violently.

Damien nods, returning most of his mon until Yanko and CHi were the only ones still remaining, and heading out the door, "Hey, I'm dealing with a bit of an emergency right now. I need to get in touch with Christian run off to the beach for a bit; could ya store the food?" he asked hurriedly as he dialed up Christian's number, and failing that Agent Joys. Things seemed rather bleak for the moment.

If Chi could sense it all the way here, whatever it was, was well under way; the fact none of his friends were picking up almost assured they were already involved given past experiences. He lacked a proper mount, for though he could try to ride Errol he would likely be better off on foot, and neither he nor Kuji had a car; it was times like this the boy hated being a kid.

Beach

The giant monster once again ignores Emma, but she seemed to have at least planted the idea into it's head.

'TO SHOW STRENGTH .... I .... I THROW THIS AT BEACH!'

It hefts the boat up with it's mighty arm, shaking it from side to side, getting it's aim right. The men in the boat are thrown about the deck, but just manage to hold on and not fall out.

Emma senses it doing .... something? Eating?

'MORE STRENGTH!'

Sewer

Autumn launches teh ground attack at the Haunter, but unfortunately both just float on over it. 'Void, they all have Levitate!' shouts Charles. Suddenly the whole ground shakes, and Charles looks deathly frightened. 'WHAT THE VOID IS BELOW US? SWEET ARCEUS THAT'S BAD!'

Under the ground, the Skuntank slashes at the Haunter, causing it to flicker in and out of existence. It manages to just hold itself on, when the Empoleon smacks it and causes it to explode violently. A strange black glob of energy floats in the air, but before Liam gets a proper look at it the entire sewer shakes and a giant tentacle breaks out of the ground, enveloping and absorbing it.

The other Haunter just laughs in mockery as it's comrade is consumed.

In the ring

The man bobs and weaves, dodging the slam but failing to connect with his fists either.

:smallsigh: this fight is almost over. c'mon dice, let someone hit someone!

Outside the Bistro

Damien sees a few people talking in hused whispers or running off to other parts of the city. Yeah, something was definitely up, and people were starting to notice. After a few moments of ringing, Christian picks up, and Damien can hear the sound of an engine full blast.

'HELLO LITTLE ONE, NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR TALKING. SOMETHING BAD IS HAPPENING DOWN AT THE BEACH, AND WE ARE NEEDED!' Damien hears another voice, shouting at the genetic giant. 'Don't take calls while driving Christian!' 'HEY, DON'T WORRY. HANDS FREE BOSS. CHRISTIAN WON'T CRASH! NOW LITTLE ONE, BE CAREFUL. I'LL CHECK ON YOUR FRIENDS WHEN WE GET TO THE BEACH.'

The wrestler dodges the the side, delivering Russ a swift kick in the back, propelling him into the ropes on the side of the ring. Russ takes 43 p normal damage.

The whole building shakes, and a few wrestler stop watching the matchto go see what was happening. From the look in the opponents eyes, he wasn't letting you leave just quite yet.

Damien sees the photographers coming out the diner and splitting up, obviously having heard what was going on and wanting to cover it. Right behind them, the ninja trio exit in a hurry too, nodding to you as they leave.

Emma and Silvia

Thinking it wanted to show off, the giant creature launches some gigantic tentacles at the coast, smashing buildings and docks, and looks as if it was dragging itself towards the coast.

'YES! I SHOW OFF POWER BY PUTTING BOAT ON BEACH!'

The pokedex registers the creature for a few moments, processing what it could be. Eventually, a small chime sounds, and the entry for Tentacruel shows up, along with a warning. Subject Above Projected Sizes! Please Stand By For Confirmation.

Liam and Autumn

The entire sewer starts to shake, and the water at your feet suddenly starts to flow backwards with increasing speed.
'Getting out of here seems like an idea. Let's leave the gym leader for later! No point trying to catch him and dying here.' Roxie runs towards the exit away from the beast below, chucking a ball at the Haunter but missing in her haste. She also returns Ilm

Charles rushes at the Haunter, shoulder barging one into the wall and sliding down to grab the Crobat. His Chansey grabs Yvain, while Phi was hiding in Charles's bg, which Autumn was currently carrying. 'I'll distract them, you two get going and protect the weakened pokemon. If this body is half as tough as you say, me and the Wheezing can hold these two back.'

The Haunters claw viciously at Charles, but he blocks one of them with his elbow. The one down below stabs it's own head viciously with it's own clawed hand, causing a gashing would. It then flicks some black blood-like ectoplasm on the Skuntank, cursing it.

Damien

A couple of blocks to the north a big tentacle looking thing seems to smash into the ground and anchor itself, while 4 blocks south one erupts from under the ground. Most people seemed to be fleeing east, heading in-land, but a few people seemed to be heading elsewhere.

Damien burst into the gym and sees Russ up in the ring. The two fighters exchange hard blows, but Russ stays standing while his opponent hits the deck.

A imposing woman looks over at Damien, as if expecting an explanation on what was going on and why he was here.

Russ

The man sees the punch incoming, and tries to take out Russ with an uppercut before the punch lands. It cracks Russ right in the chin, and the blow was solid. Russ takes 66 damage, but remains standing. His opponent wasn't so lucky, keeling over due to Russ's last hit.

From the corner of Russ's blurred vision, he can see Damien and Chi burst into the gym.

Underground

The Empoleon looks a little confused, but then nods and throws itself out infront of the tentacle and smacks both it and the Haunter with a powerful water move. It starts to flood the pipes behind Liam and his feet start to slip, but he's too busy getting away to stop and look back. After a little bit of running, the Skuntank appears beside him, with Cerb held in it's mouth, who seems to be waking up again. All Liam can hear behind him is the sound of battle and the Haunter cackling like a mad man.

The floor above, both Roxie and Autumn make a break for it, with Roxie grabbing her Crobat from Charles as they pass. Charles (in Autumn's body) Sadi and the Wheezing would be rear guard. The Chansey was struggling to keep up, but tried to stay ahead and lead the way since it seemed Charles had been down here before.

The Phione linked into everyone's minds. 'Miss Florence Chansey knows where to go. Follow her. Master Liam, we should try and get you back on the same level as us so we can meet up.'

Can I get a dex check from the both of you por favor?

Aerial Ninja Rescue Service

The Aerodactly nods and gladly gets away from the contaminated water and swoops back to the beach front. As the creature slowly pulls itself to the beach, all the water displaced from it moving causes waves to splash up on the beachfront, knocking down several beach stalls and volley-ball nets.

Two large tentacles slam down on the beach.

'NOW WHERE TO PUT THE BOAT DOWN? I WANT TO PROVE I AM THE AWESOMEST ONE!'

The poor boat crew were freaking out at this point. A few vans and jeeps pull up near the beach, and from the air Sylvia can spot Christian's massive frame next to a small group of rangers.

As they're about to round the corner Liam returns the Empoleon leaving out the Skuntank.
"Right then give us some cover as we go, and Cerb give them a confuse ray."
Once he's out of the Skuntanks mouth Cerb send a Confuse ray towards the Haunter and the Tentacle before running away. Then the Skuntank begins filling the passage behind them with smoke as it also begins to retreat.

Quick switch to bring the Empoleon back
Cerb uses Confuse Ray to hit the tentacle and the Ghost
Skuntank uses Smoke screen, no targets just to fill up the passage behind us.

After that Cerb moves 9m, Skuntank 8m and Roxie I think moves 9m as well

"Warn me next time!" he callas out, tighting his grip on Chi in one arm as he calls out Vincet; the bird of prey more than a little confused by all the tentacles and the jet pack golett, thankfully spotting Russ seemed to be explanation enough for the latter. "Well, CHi; you wanted a slice of adventure, guess you'll have to settle for a whole cake instead," the mystic quipped poorly, trying to keep any nervousness out of his grin as he eyed the behemoth over the horizon.

Everyone

Chi reaches out and makes a connection with Emma easily due to her connection with Mew, and senses Sylvia next to her. When he looks for Liam and Autumn, instead everyone overhears a strange mental conversation.

'Is that Liam? Is Autumn nearby?'
'Hello, sorry, Master Liam is busy running from a giant tentacle.'
'Who is this?'
'Phione!'
'Oh, well nice to meet you Phione, I'm Chi!'
'Nice to meet you too. I'd love to chat, but, y'know, giant tentacle and whatnot.'
'Yeah, we found out about that. We're heading to the beach now. Can you get there?'
'Not right now, we are sort of stuck underground. It's rather dark and smelly down here.'

The two start to fill each other in on what was happening. It was rather strange for everyone listening to hear how calm and blasé the two were about the whole thing despite everyone else running for their lives.

Damien and Russ

While Damien takes to the skies, Russ takes to the streets with his RAT mount. Russ soon makes it to the back of the blockade that the Rangers were trying to quickly erect around the beach. Damien wasn't so lucky, as from out of nowhere a Shadow Ball shoots up and nearly hits him, almost causing GUT to drop him. The Golette quickly grabs a tighter hold of Damien, and as the young Mystic looks around he hears a psychotic cackling and can feel the presence of a Ghost nearby. His Scale of Giratina pressed against his chest and suddenly felt ice cold, giving off a strong reaction.

Emma and Sylvia

'What? You're talking to that thing?' asks Joy from the ground. 'TELL IT TO SHOO AWAY!' says Christian. 'No!' says another Ranger. 'First thing is to make it calm down and get it to put the boat down. Miss, can you get it to do that and keep it calm?'

From up above Sylvia uses her ninja eyes to spot a large inflated Wailord bouncy castle on the beach. Sure, putting the boat on it would likely pop it, but at least it would lessen the landing .... probably. Either that or into one of the beach-front swimming pools that were a little further into the shore.

From Emmas hip, her Pokedex pings. 'Congratulations!' says a small robotic voice. 'You have just registered the largest found Tentacruel onto your pokedex. Would you like to take a 10 minute survey and have your name put on our records?'

Liam and Autumn

Roxie throws a pokeball at the thing, but the beam hits it but nothing happens.

'We would have to weaken that thing to catch it. You wanna go ahead and fight it then?' shouts the musician currently inside Liam's body. Rounding the corner, Autumn slips and falls into the sewer water, cutting her hand as she hits the ground. Unfortunately, as she does so, she notices the water in the sewer was now beginning to resemble the polluted water up at the beach.

The Confuse Ray hits the tentacle dead on, but it doesn't even seem to slow it down slightly. It lashes out at the group in the lower sewer, wrapping itself around the Skuntank and Liam and Cerb both manage to jump it's sweeping grasp.

Not knowing if the Skuntank was high enough level to use the attack Liam and Cerb move forward anyway to avoid the blast area. Liam making sure they can still see the Skuntank to return it if needed.

Explosion, normal, physical creates a 7-meter Burst. The user’s HP is set to -50% of their full HP. If the user is above Loyalty 1, their Loyalty is lowered at least 1 stage.

[roll0] Surely there should be some sort of bonus to hit for being stuck inside its tentacle.

If that doesn't work becuase the Skuntank is to low level then it will use Flamethrower, fire, Spc, burns on a 19-20.
[roll2]+ whatever Spc attack is.

Either way Liam returns the Tank as soon as it's finished it attack by using quick switch. If the Skuntank has the stench ability it flinches on a 19-20 as well.

Using three sets of eyes and Auric Sight to search for the bugger. This is also a likely good time to mention that Damien can see Ghosts even while they're invisible.

Trying to, but it is very powerful, so it's difficult to be heard by it, though I can still influence it a bit even then with suggestions. I just need a spot to put the boat. It is also driven by pride in power, so the best way to keep it calm may be to give it some praise and attention.
She looks over to Sylvia next.
"You see anywhere to put the boat? We need to keep this guy calm enough to not begin tearing its tendrils back, and to keep its ego strong, I think."
And when the conference happens, she pauses.
Chi and Phione, I have a plan, and I'm at the source. This giant tentacruel just apparently grew to this size and power recently, and I'm trying to get it to calm down. It's incredibly prideful and doesn't seem to notice most things, so can you contact anyone else and let them know what's going on?

"Other than that I can only see some pools, but they are a little further in and I don't think it would be wise to get it closer than we'd have to. Plus the wailord bouncy house should provide some cushioning before it pops."

The Skuntank glows bright white, and then a large explosion blasts throughout the tunnel, severing the tentacle and causing the tunnel to start to collapse.

Charles looks a bit panicked, trying to think. 'Dammit, why can't I concentrate? You'll have to amputate it, only thing I can be sure of. If this mutated a pokemon, I don't want it in my body.'

'You want us to cut off your ARM?!?'

'Listen, if you have a better idea, give it to me. We don't have time to waste.'

Sylvia and Emma

As things were getting ready to get the Tentacruel to drop the boat, with Michael keeping his rangers from trying to fight it, the giant beast suddenly roars out in pain. It almost drops the boat and the workers.

Russ and Damien

With a bit of looking around, Damien notices a shadowy presence in one of the darker alleys, and a gleaming pair of read eyes stare back up at him.

The quartet soon land, Damien nodding once at Russ as the wrestler approached and sending GUT to his trainer. Readying his shield in the face of the hostile specter, the young mystic called forth Ulrich to better their odds. The mystic forging a link with the Riolu as it took it's position by it's would-be brother; the two youngest of Damian's clan sharing a nervous glance before the Riolu focused on the coming battle. its form and eyes gleaming Aura blue.

"Who are you, and why have you tried to assault us wraith?!" he called out to the tainted specter as he used his free hand to scan it with his pokedex, hoping on the fact that given his nature he would give the Ghost enough pause to at least gloat over him. Who knew? If they were lucky they might even be able to get something useful out of it concerning the fuster cluck hitting the city.

Ulrich has used Foresight, it's a self buff so all good there.

"Emma, do you think you can hold on to both the kids until Lao can land?" She asked, not giving away too much of her idea because she was sure there would be an attempt to talk her out of it.

Sylvia and Emma

The duo steer Lao down and he nears the arm holding the boat. Down below you see some of the rangers cut the bouncy castle free of the straps holding it to the ground, and Christian gives it a swift kick so that it slides along so it's kinda underneath the tentacle.

Autumn

The funny thing was, Charles was right. Amputation was the only way to be 100% certain that the arm wasn't infected, but with the blood loss it wasn't a great idea. Instead, Autumn figures out a way to decrease the chance as much as possible. She pulls out a syringe full of a coolant that is used on ice type pokemon when they get overheated. She injects Charles's hand, causing it to massively drop in temperature and turn blueish. It wasn't a good idea to do this to healthy flesh, but this was an unusual emergency. Then she takes out a emergency tourniquet and wraps it around the wrist. It'd buy another half hour or so, but still, she needed somewhere sterile to drain the blood as soon as possible.

Liam

Liam dashes down the sewer, when he suddenly notices a shadow up ahead, next to one of the walls of the tunnel. Upon getting closer, it looks to be something or someone, slumped against the wall.

Russ and Damien

The ghost looked at Damein's attempts of communication and then just started to giggle. It was a giggle, then it developed into a laugh. Then it was a full blown insane cackle. The evil creature just sat there, cackling at you all. Then, as suddenly as it appeared, it stopped laughing and gave Damien a middle finger while lights shot out of it's eyes, dazzling and confusing everyone.

Damien's evasive action is only met with with a sudden mind numbing vertigo; his attempt to manuever himself and his mon is met with only greater failiure as the boy stumbles in his steps and comes crushing upon the floor. With a grunt of pain and grit teeth the boy focuses through his mon's unclouded senses; keeping Vincent guarding him and the others as Ulrich surges forward guided by his brother's eyes, his forward gleaming brighter then the rest of his shimmering form as he attempts to body check the wraith head first.

Sylvia takes in a deep breath while she shifts the kid over to where they (i don't remember the gender) can hold on to Emma, before she jumping off the aerodactyl aiming to land on the tentacle.

Once on the tentacle she immediately starts sprinting towards the boat, running up and sliding down any incline or decline she may come across respectively. Once she reaches the boat, the ninja flips over the side of the boat and dashes over to the two workers and grabs them both before a cloud of smoke bursts from under her hair.

Assuming all goes well, Sylvia appears on the ground with the two workers by her side.

Dex check: imma just assume at least one is needed.

Sylvia the Magnificent and Emma

Sylvia ninja flips like a boss onto the giant Kaiju pokemon and grabs the boat workers, teleporting through the boat and appearing a few feet above the bouncy castle to land safely upon it. The fishermen quickly start shouting what she can only assume to be thanks is rushed Orrean.

Laim

Edging closer, Liam sees that they are unconscious. When he gets up to the person, he makes out that it is indeed Ratchet. Except something was off. Liam noticed he was missing both his jacket and his belt of pokeballs that he had last seen him flee with. His left arm was also twisted in a strange way that appeared to be broken.

Autumn

Charles and the pokemon assisting him finally chase off the last of the Shadow Haunter and he quickly runs over and catches up with you, looking bruised and banged up but Autumn notes her body was still in one piece. Still better off than the body she was currently in. He gives Roxie-Liam a hand with her Crobat since she still couldn't return it without her pokeballs.

'We should get top side warn someone.'

'Already done that' pipes in the little Phione still hiding in the med-bag.

'What about the sludge? The water control is still spitting that thing out! And I need to get down there and see if I can save any of the poison pokemon.'

Charles and Roxie give each other a quick stare down, and Autumn finds it strange to see herself and Liam looking at each other like total strangers who don't trust each other.

Eventually, Charles-Autumn breaks eye contact. 'It's up to the lady, she's ... well I suppose I am as well .... the one with the infection. What do you want to do? Head ack and get that treated as fast as possible? Or find the controls to stop the sludge?' Roxie nods with letting Autumn decide, since she was the one taking the greater risk right now.

Russ and Damien

The Haunter is hit by the attacks, and it looks like it will fall down. Before it does though, it steadies itself by grabbing the wall with one hand. It holds the other hand over it's face in pain, panting. Suddenly it rips it's purple skin off and explodes in dark energy. As you are all blinded by the dark explosion, a ball of shadowy energy smacks GUT right in the chest, blasting him back and causing 53 s ghost damage. The smoke clears to reveal your opponent was now a Shadow Gengar. It rounds on Ulrich and vomits up purple flames on the little guy, burning him.

It's a shadow pokemon and it's 4 on 1, so no bitching about it getting 2 attacks a round :smalltongue:

Vincent releases a furious cry as he took the skies, for none had the right to make Ulrich look like a buffoon but him! The fact he could sense Damien's growing frustration from his inability to add his mon in the battle only compaunded his own rightouse anger. With the fate of many upon its back the fledgling dove at the twisted creature that had dared do harm to it, wings glimmering brightly beneath the noonday sun as it tried to charge past the abomination.

Kneeling down next to Ratchet Liam shifts Shrike around in his arms so that he lift up Ratchets face to get a good look.

"So Cerb what do you think?"

Cerb obviously understands the question since as he keeps an eye on Ratchet to make sure his Aura doesn't flare up he also nudges Roxies shoulder causing Liam to glance over for a second before letting out a small noise that was somewhere between a sigh and a laugh.

"Alright then I suppose your right, we need to get him up top. Make sure we find out everything about what he's been doing. Give me a hand lifting him would you if your going to be such a softy."

Using Cerb to assist him in lifting Ratchet onto his shoulder Liam stands and continues running towards the exit. Ratchet over one shoulder and Shike in his other arm.

"Well, since Charles and I are in the most immediate danger, we do sorta need to get to a Center to get this," she holds up the currently blue, and extremely limp, hand, "You two are in less danger, but are not at your best, we need to get something done fast, and heading back down there as we are is not a good option. If we do, Charles and I will likely end up in a very bad spot and you two will be down two. Best bet is to get to the controls and hope we can get down after this... um, incident, is over."

Emma and Sylvia

Lao swoops down and grabs the last boat worker in his talons, the man freaking out as he is plucked up. The Aerodactyl then swoops down and flies over the bouncy Wailord, letting the man go so he hits the inflatable, bounces, then knocks down Sylvia and the other 2 fishermen she rescued. He lands with a skid upon the sand, and looks rather smug at his aim.

Damien and Russ

The Gengar takes the hits, flinching in pain so much that it could not act this turn.

Autumn

Roxie-Liam sighs, but nods. 'Let's go then. With all of us wounded and Zekrom knows how many of those things still around, I probably couldn't make it with this body.'

'We still need to get Liam back too. He has all your pokeballs. And if that big thing comes back, they are our best shot at escape.'

'Yeah, it's pretty strange that I have the strongest pokemon here. I thought for sure someone like you would be way ahead of me' she says, giving Autumn's current body a strange look. 'Still, my dad was a ship captain and could barely battle, so it's not like it's always in the genes.'

Charles looks uncomfortable, and doesn't make any effort to continue the conversation. Instead he just carries on, following after the Chansey leading the way out.

Liam

As Liam and Cerb make their way along the sewer, carrying the wounded, they come across a junction. There were tunnels leading off to the left and the right, as well as ladders leading up and down. Some sort of hammering noise seemed to be coming from below, but that almost certainly wasn't the way out.

Alley Fight

Damien strums the pick through the air even as the Gengar dodges Russ's attacks, and a deep soundwave echoes through-out the alley and beyond, rippling off the Gengar causing it to flinch in pain as dark shadowy energy leaked from it. As if in resonance with his scale, one of Damien's pokeballs glowed with power and a jolt of electricity shot out of it, smacking the Gengar in the face.

It was strange, as even Russ knows an attack from within a pokeball should be next to impossible. Between the electricity and the sound, the Gengar couldn't attack right now.

Beach Front

As Sylvia and Emma discuss what to do about the Mamoswine in the room, a large deep bass sound reverberates through the air from a few streets away, rippling the air with sound. Suddenly, Emma feels a lot of the anger and pride the Tentacruel was feeling just leek out of it, and could sense the giant begin to relax. It pulled itself slightly more forward and bent down, sitting upon the beach front. The Rangers seemed puzzled by the monster's actions and the sound, but kept their weapons and pokemon ready but didn't act yet.

Yes, where is Damien when you need him? Maybe a few streets away inadvertently helping you out?

Sewer Runners

As the group continues looking for a way out of the sewer, they round a corner and see Roxie, I mean Liam in Roxie's body, climbing one handed up a ladder. In the other arm, Liam pulls Ratchet's body up the ladder and throws him on the ground. 'Ratchet?' Charles runs over to help Liam up and check on the gym leader. He looks over to his own body to Autumn. 'Miss, do you think you could patch him up any?'

As Liam finally climbs up, something blue slams into his face and obscures his vision. 'Master!'

Cause I think we might want to check out whatever that noise was. Could have another problem on our hands." She said, reluctantly making her way over to Lao.

As Autumn checks Ratchet, she makes a startling discovery. There was a puncture hold on the back of his neck, and he was showing signs of being drugged. Judging from the state of things, he has been knocked out for a good hour or so and wouldn't likely wake up for another few hours.

'Sorry Master, but I don't think I should be calling you Liam until you're in the Liam body, since it's confusing. So for now, you're Master. As for how I know ....' The little Phione shrugs it's arms. 'Psychic imprinting maybe?'

Sylvia and Emma

Lao sees Sylvia approaching and kneels down, to let her on. Either he had done enough mischief to satisfy himself for the time being, or he was pretending to behave for the meantime.

Emma feels the Tentacruel yawn as it brings a tentacle to it's face.

'Feel .... sleepy .... and hungry ..... Growing so big is hard work.' It gazes at the rangers and members of public who were looking upon it. 'Wonder if new friends will feed me, now I have shown how great I am?'

A little way away, Joy Christian and Michael were looking upon the creature. 'Maybe a 5? It's big, but it didn't do much.' 'IF IT WAS ANGRY, IT COULD HAVE GONE 8 OR EVEN 9. I THINK IT'S A 3.' 'We're not out of danger yet, we still need to get it under control and stop whatever that leak is. It might still go hostile. I'll say a 6 right now. I'm just glad we don't have the first 10 on our hands.' 'There have been no casualties inland, with only a few serious injuries. I'll mark it down as a 5 if we can secure it.' The 3 senior rangers nodded.

Sylvia takes note of Lao's seemingly improved behavior. "Good boy." She praised the winged beast before letting her hands find a sweet spot on his neck and gently massaged it as a form of positive reinforcement for his "good" behavior; even if he was feigning it at that moment, eventually he would start behaving better if he was rewarded for acting better. "Doesn't have to be that hard now does it?" She added before finishing up her quick massage. "I'll make sure you'll get a proper reward for helping." 'Even if you were a bit of a pain in the ass.'

The kunoichi then took notice of the rangers discussing something about numbers. It sounded like they were classifying the events that just happen. If that was the case, then she assumed this sort of thing must be not uncommon then; like a natural earthquake or storm...

"Sounds like to me he just needs a good trainer to take care of him and keep him in check." Again the idea of catching it for herself crossed her mind, but she gets the idea out of her head again as she finally mounts Lao. "Well unless one of us would be allowed to try and catch it, I am going to check out that weird sound real quick." She waited for an answer before coaxing Lao to take to the air.

Damien allowed himself a surprised smile as he touched Garret's ball, the faint feeling of static yet dancing over his finger tips; ignoring the evil laugh. "Thanks! You know, what? For that and how good you've been lately, you're getting an extra serving later," he quipped happily as he pulled out his flute.

With the gengar Damien calls upon his magical melodies to undue the maladies that had befallen him and the others amid the celabratory cries of his youngest mon, before picking up the ball with the sealed specter.. Great job you guys!" he exclaimed as he pet and looked over his youngest mon, a blossoming feeling of pride within him at the sight of how well the pair had fared against such a deadly foe.

With a quick exhalation Damien changed caps from proud father figure to stern field commander, and handed out the marching orders to his mon; returning Ulrigh with a final piece of praise as Vincent perched on his shoulder, and asking Chi to check up on the others and let them know there were also shadow pokemon running around.

The young trainer soon brought out Errol, getting the dragon up to speed and impressing upon it the need for swiftness in this dire emergency, before finally addressing Russ once more. "How are you two feeling? Still up for making it the rest of the way?" he inquired as he began mounting the larger dragon.

"Great more twists and turns. I guess when we get to the surface your going to have to go with Charles and take Ratchet to the Center, maybe you can meet up with some of the others there as well. I'll go with my body to wherever in the gym the controls for the Sewer system are, see if I carn't trace the source of this stuff and isolate it from the sea and the other lines. Until we get there I'll keep on carrying him though since that seems to be the easiest way"

Liam also returns Roxies Crobat before lifting up Ratchet onto her shoulder again.

Phi can you read his mind and find out whatever you can about the sewer system, do they have PPM meters on the lines or anything that would help to trace the mukking stuff and what sort of plans do they have inplace to prevent accidental discharge?

Soon the two make their way back to the beachfront, and find the way barred by Rangers. Looking over the heads of people, Russ can spot Emma on the beach talking to Christian and Joy in-front of the monster. A shadow flies over head.

Sylvia

Getting enough height, Sylvia spots roughly where the sound may have come from, and seems some people riding pokemon away from there. Swooping down on Lao, she spots Damien and Russ getting stuck at the back of the crowd of onlookers held back by the Rangers.

Emma

Head Ranger Michael thinks for a second. 'Chris, think your Mama can cook up the largest order ever? All paid for on behalf of the city council of course.' Christian slaps his belly and laughs. 'I DO NOT KNOW, BUT I AM SURE MAMA WILL BE MORE THAN WILLING TO TRY!'

Joy leans over and whispers in Emma's ear. 'The city council has a fund set aside for monster attacks. Happens more often than you think in Gateon, hence why we rate them. If we can shut off the source of the toxin and befriend the Tentacruel, this may turn out a net benefit to the city, with something this size to scare off any other shadow Pokemon from attacking.'

In her mind, Emma hears the Tentacruel think.
'Umm, call me .... call me .... Call me Awesome! Yeah! I'm Awesome! ..... or just any awesome sounding name maybe ...'

Autumn and Liam

Phi attempts to read Ratchet's mind, but has no luck since the guy was unconscious.

Eventually the body swapped group gets above ground and back into the shack next to the gym. Charles searches Ratchet and finds the keys on him, letting you all into the gym. It was a rather straightforward gym, with an arena that could open up to a pool underneath, and a healing machine and first aid cabinet to the side. Off the the side there was a small office for Ratchet with his computer in it.

Assume between Chi and Phi that after this, everyone is filled in on what's happening with everyone else.

"Looks like we might not need to split up again after all, why don't you deal with him while I take a look at the controls." Liam pauses for a moment before gesturing towards Roxie "I suppose you should come along as well since it seems our skills have carried over with our bodies."

Checking out the computer room Liam takes a look over the controls and system display.

"Right then all we have to do now is check the readouts for an area we know was infected" Liam points to an area that they'd seen the gunk in.

"Compare that to an area we know isn't" Pointing towards the entrance to the tunnels they had just come through.

"Then use those results to identify the areas that are infected and isolate them from the rest of the situation, maybe we can pump it all into some sort of empty holding tank as well if there's one available."

Liam wasn't really sure how much experience Roxie had with Engineering so he was mainly just hoping talking would job his own mind and body into action. Separate as they might be.

Before Russ gets on to Lao, he feels discomfort in his shoe. Upon taking it off, he finds a penny had somehow fallen into his footwear.

Seeing Liam struggle, Roxie offers a hand. 'Seems you're quite the smart guy, huh? Okay, I think this is how you hack this password .... seems too easy. Likely the fact this computer would be guarded by a gym leader meant he didn't bother much with electronic security.' She traces her finger along the map of the sewers she brings up. 'Aha! Here we go. This is where I was heading. The large pump at the bottom of the sewers. There was a large loss of life from poison type pokemon down there. As far as I can tell, he was killing Skrelp, and then using the toxicity of their blood and mixing it with the Shadow Formula so that it would infect pokemon much faster. I can't shut off the pump here, but I could seal off the Formula while letting the blood continue pumping, or we could just crash the whole system and cut off water to the entire city to stop all outflows. Once we get the real Ratchet up and about, he could hopefully get it working again.'

Roxie sends a kill code to the control panel and shuts off all the water. 'Won't get rid of the toxins in the water, but at least it shouldn't get bigger.'

Phi strains himself, but shakes his head. 'I don't have enough energy to do that, sorry.' Suddenly Phi disappears into a pokeball, and Roxie grabs it out the air.

'Let's heal him up and that'll restore the move. Better to switch now, and not let your friend get a hand chopped off.' Charles nods. 'Yeah, it's my body. Miss Autumn should get out of there first.'

A quick spin in the machine and Phi was fighting fit. His psychic tendrils once again hit each of you, and soon everyone was back in their own bodies. The four of you and your pokemon head off to the hospital and Charles pulls out a medical ID and sets off to go get treated. 'Try and pop by later on. Anyway, it was .... a unique experience Phi. See you guys later.'

The young mystic couldn't get over how unspeakably huge the tentacruel was; it was like something out of the old kaiju flicks he used to watch before...well before this sort of stuff became part of his life anyway. Roxie nods. 'I'd like to question him too. Not only was the impostor responsible for killing many poison types, causing untold property damage and making some sort of giant kaiju, he also smuggled and killed Dragon types, since Skrelp evolves into Dragalge. You guys know they monitor and track dragon types. The penalty for messing with them is enforced by the dragon masters. This person must be either brave or stupid. We should find out what Ratchet knows.'

'That will be impossible senorita. Senor Ratchet will be coming with us. He's under arrest for terrorism and numerous other charges. You'd be best advised not to interfere.' Three men in uniform had appeared behind you. The leader and the one talking had his eyes obscured by pitch black glasses. All were armed with pistols and multiple pokeballs.

Roxie's eyes narrowed and she gripped her guitar tight. 'La Policia.' She spat on the ground.

Rat Rider

Damien is shoved atop RAT and the ferocious rodent takes off, making a beeline for the hospital. But as RAT as about to run into the doors, he and Damien suddenly slam into an invisible wall, face planting. A giant of a genetic, even bigger than Christian, walks over. His entire face was covered in white fur and he had a piggy nose. He cracked his fists menacingly, and had a Mr Mime out next to him. Both the genetic and his pokemon were dressed in porters robes.

'No running in the hospital. Behave yourself or I'll toss you out.' His voice was a low threatening growl.

Liam sighs and reaches into his pocket slowly enough that the people wouldn't think he was going to pull one of his guns to get his badge before showing it to the Policia. To be honest he'd been hoping he'd be able to get through a day before having to do something stupid.

"As much as I would like to be of assistance I'm afraid that the prisoner is under my jurisdiction. If you wish for references I currently operate with the permission of Chief Voiron of Kanto, Officer Joy of Orre and Dragon Trainer Elite Iris. If you like I can put in a direct call to Ranger HQ to attempt resolve this but as I'm sure you're aware bureaucracy is a slow process so until then we will keep you informed but must 'request' you give us continued custody until everyone is satisfied with handing the prisoner over."

In the lobby of the hospital, Damien spots Liam, Autumn and a tall woman with long spiky white hair staring off against a set of intimidating men in uniforms.

'He he he, you're a long way from home Chico.' He takes out a pack of cigars and lights one up for himself. The staff give him a dirty look, but no one comes over to tell the officer to stop.

'True, you can play the bureaucracy game. Not many people would argue with Iris. But there were two people you brought it. If we can't have Ratchet, I suppose I'll have to arrest Charles Shirona. He is a friend of the accused, and you brought them both in injured. And you have you to take Senor Shirnoa into custody. It would be a shame if his treatment was delayed due to interrogation, si?' He holds out the pack of cigars, offering Liam one. 'Unless we have a prisoner exchange of course.' He gives a slightly imposing smile, and one of the other officers makes to head towards Charles's room.

"Again I'm sorry but I'm going to need to see paper work especially if you want to detain a Sinnohan national as well as a member of our Ranger corps here on a diplomatic mission to oversee preparations for the world league, so perhaps it would be best to leave him to be questioned by me, less of a diplomatic incident that way after all. In fact my assistant has just arrived and will begin questioning Charles momentarily. A full report will be issued to your office as soon as we are able."

He looks at Autumn. 'Senorita, I too believe them to both be innocent, but the upstairs will demand answers. An 'impostor Ratchet' is not something they will accept. If you are keeping Ratchet, Shirona is coming with me.'

'If you believe Charles is innocent, and wish to help him, then hand over Senor Ratchet for questioning. I give you my word he will not be questioned without a Ranger present to observe. An Orrean Ranger.' He pats Liam on the shoulder. 'As I said, you are a good man. And as a good man, you won't let me take Charles out of the hospital and risk his health. And the only way you are stopping me is to hand over Ratchet. And because you are a good man, you are going to do this, aren't you?'

You can question him here, with ranger's present, and we can get answers as well and keep him close enough that, if cleared, he can fix the sewer system before it gets to bad, if not, you can take him into custody for more questioning or punishment. Is that a decent enough compromise?"

Damien narrowed his eyes slightly as he overheard the conversation, firing off several quick texts to Joy and Christian warning them about what was happening and asking for assistance, before steeling himself and walking in at Liam's call; before setting his pokegear to record, his hands casually pocketed and ready to send the recording at a moment's notice.

"I'm going to have to insist you agree with my colleague for now," he began, making himself known as he calmly walked towards Charle's room "By your own statement, as heard by everyone present, you came here to arrest Ratchet; local gym leader of Gateon Port. He is already in custody. As such, seeing as you did not claim to him until after you were notified that Ratchet was in custody as it was; even though you clearly knew he was present... I am going to have to insist you produce a proper warrant for the arrest of a third party individual who, as you yourself have just stated, is being charged for the crime of being someone's acquaintance; I'm going to have to ask your men to step aside and allow the patient to receive treatment before you you question him for your report. Otherwise if we follow your proposition I'm afraid that Senor Shirnoa is may not survive long enough to provide you with anything remotely useful to your investigation." he explained calmly with the most cordial smile he could manage.

"If you attempt to arrest him without probable cause beyond the mere fact that he was 'Ratchet's friend', lacking a proper warrant, probably cause and evidence to support it, And endangering the life of a high risk foreign patient after being warned that interrupting or otherwise stalling his emergency treatment which will result in permanent damage to his body and/or spirit or death in one of the best case scenarios given the nature of his condition; you would likely be at the heart of both an international fiasco and liable to be charged for two charges of Police Misconduct to which everyone present at this moment is an eye witness to, and to which all of your men would appear to be accomplices in," he elaborated methodically.

"Given that it's been..." he trailed off check his watch, "About ten minutes since this whole crisis has begun to settle; I think we can all agree that none of us here want to add that sort of fiasco to the events of today. As such, I would like to request that you and your men wait until after the patients are properly stabilized and cleared for questioning by medical professionals with witnesses on standby for the meeting. 'You say I have no proof that Shirona is linked to the crime? We know someone hacked the sewer system less than half an hour ago. I believe that this man was Senor Shirona, him being an acquaintance of Ratchet and probably knowing a little of the security, and therefore that is more than enough reason to hold him. While it's likely Shirnoa did this to stop the spread of the corruptive liquid, this still needs to be questioned. And as for police misconduct? This is an act of possible terrorism. The lines become blurry. Just be thankful I'm not taking all of this little soiree in for questioning under an interrogator. This IS me being lenient.'

'Under the guise of good faith and co-operation, I can agree to the compromise. Ratchet will be transferred to Policia jurisdiction, but shall remain here under protection of both the Policia AND the Rangers until he is healthy enough to talk. We shall order the doctor to document all medical irregularities with his body, as you have asked. And in exchange, you have jurisdiction of Charles Shirona, and we shall not interfere in his treatment.' He gives a large grim. 'As I have said, you are good people. I am glad we were able to sort this out.' He slapped the arm of one of his men. 'GO NOW, GUARD RATCHET'S ROOM, BUT YOU ARE NOT TO ENTER WITHOUT AN OFFICER OF THE ORREAN RANGER CORPS THERE!' He turned to the other one. 'GET JOY ON THE PHONE. TELL HER TO SEND ONE OF HER RANGERS OVER HERE PRONTO!'

He tips his hat to Liam. 'It was a pleasure working with you Senor. Please give Lady Iris my regards.'

Roxie sheathed her guitar in it's case, and whispered to Autumn 'He's one of the more decent Policia I've met. Most would have had Ratchet in an interrogation room by now, with the 3 of us and Charles in a cell stuck for the next few days.'

He turns and shakes his head to Liam. 'She wouldn't know me, just a fan of her work. We have long been hoping for the Rangers to get a Dragon Master to deal with Prometheus, but as you know, there are far too few Dragon Masters to be everywhere at once. And I apologize for not introducing myself. Captain Roh.'

When Damein enters the room he was told Charles was in, his view is obscured as his face is pulled into a pair of yellow breasts. It was warm and tingly. Very tingly in-fact.

'Hey, it's the kid from the plane! You came to visit us? That's so sweet! Damien, right?' Damien's body tingled as electricity passed through it. He could hear Chi giggling behind him.
