I've been scouring the internet, but I feel like I keep overlooking stuff that could fit my purposes well, so I'm polling the playground.

I need spells/effects/creatures/etc. with a "time" or "temporal" theme.

The players are currently 1 year in the future, 1 year ahead of their regular time. Because of this displacement, their bodies are decaying at unsteady rates (aging more quickly). They need the protection of special devices made from a rare type of amethyst crystal.
Said crystal is found, of course, in the ruins of an old cult, worshippers of the serpent god "Tempos". Tempos' followers are mostly/totally/probably already dead now, and the ruins are almost empty. But the traps are still there, and creatures wandering into the cave have become warped by the crystals' strange magic.

So, I'm looking for stuff to throw into this time-themed dungeon. Spells like haste/slow, time stop, temporal stasis are easy. Expeditious retreat, sands of time, bestow curse are also easily usable.
But I'm looking for other abilities that I can re-flavor to suit my purpose/theme. Stuff like dimension door (pausing time/skipping ahead) that isn't immediately noticeable as being an option for a time-themed dungeon.

Anything from 3.5 or PF is welcome. Go ahead and throw anything, regardless of level or CR, and I'll sort through for the usable bits.

I don't know if there are specific rules for it, but I think teleportation circle traps are in order, as well as rooms that temporarily age/de-age the party, people in the temple who are alive but have no idea when it is and are thus driven crazy, and at least one person who walks out of a foggy closet that shouts "Welcome to the world of tomorrow!"

Psionics is your friend here - there's lots of time-flavoured stuff in the XPH and Complete Psi. The Elocator and Zerth Cenobite PrC's are particularly good wibbley-wobbley timey-wimey... stuff. Zerth Cenobite lets you punch your opponents into the future! (1/day only, but still...)

May I present the Time Wight (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20030620a) and the Temporal Drake (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20031122a), two time-themed critters to throw at your players? The Temporal Drake in particular is one of the best written time-themed monsters I've seen anywhere.

Oh, and for completeness's sake I must mention the Phane (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/monsters/abomination.htm#phane), an epic-level monster.

Check out the 2e Chronomancer's Handbook (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0786903252) or Mongoose' Chronomancy (http://www.ebay.com/itm/D-D-3rd-ed-Encyclopedia-Arcane-Chronomancy-D20-/370141506728).

Also, for flavor, check out the old Immortals rules for BECMI. Time-travel is a fairly common thing, considering one of the 5 elements of reality is Time (in addition to Matter, Thought, Energy and Entropy)

Whenever someone mentions "Time" and "Creature" in the same sentence, the first thing that jumps to my mind is the Phane (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Phane) from the Epic Levels Handbook, a personal favorite of mine.
Edit: Ignore me, I failed the spot check to notice someone else had mentioned him.

Dragon #359 introduced the Epic, Time Dragon. They are one of the most powerful creatures in the game. Perhaps your "Tempos" was in fact one of these nigh-deific beings.
As for weird encounters, maybe the party could run into itself? The unstable flow of time in the temple leads to echoes of the party encountering them. Could be goatee sporting party members attacking them or maybe a terrified and scarred character warns them of some dire threat in the next room.

The ruin chanter and ruin elemental from Monster Manual 5 are very nice flavor for time-related ruins. A ruin chanter is maybe trying to carve out his own area in the ruins, and has gotten trapped by some time-warping device. Now, his ruin elementals are going berserk, fighting with other denizens of the ruins.

Some variety of zodar is always cool, I think they were in...Monster Manual 2, or maybe Fiend Folio. They usually just wander around and watch stuff. Very mysterious.

Finally, one of the types of inevitables is supposed to guard time. I think it's one of the ones from Fiend Folio. Slipping my mind at the moment, but I think the two from the book I'm thinking are Quarut and Varakhut. Anyway, it might be trapped in the ruins, damaged and with programming messed up. Maybe it even seeks the help of the party. This is a pretty powerful inevitable, though, so you probably don't want to set it against the party in straight-up combat.

The Quarut is the Inevitable that deals with attempts to play with Space/Time. Varakhut is there to prevent deific ascension.

Ah, right. I used an epic Varakhut in a long-running campaign of mine based on renegade black ethergaunt that had stolen a god-artifact and created his own personal mini-universe as his personal test tube. The varakhut was trying to figure out who stole the artifact, when it managed to get caught up in a plan to stop the creation of the miniature universe. The players begin play inside the miniature universe, and needed to figure out what the hell was going on, and how to get out.

Nice campaign, significantly cooler thanks to rotating DMs making the plot about 500% more complicated than it otherwise would have been. Mind screw for the win!

Another thought, courtesy of some vintage Dr. Who. Time distortion can have a strange effect on people that are born or who dwell within it's area, often awakening psychic powers in otherwise normal people. Such people often have "the sight," an ability of limited prescience, and a great flavor maker. Throw some low-level psionics on the local commoners, and have them talk in vague terms about "the coming darkness" or "a vision of your death" or some other iconic imagery. Creep factor skyrockets.

Also, along the same lines, the Phrenic Template from Expanded Psionics handbook is a great way to mix up otherwise ho-hum monsters in unexpected ways. Look! An owlbear!...wait....WHY DOES THE OWLBEAR HAVE MINDBLAST?
