I know this isn't going to make a whole lot of sense, but I have an NPC druid, Belkar the Outcast from the Sunless Citadel series, who has become obessed with the Gulthias tree. The tree is really an overgrown stake through the vampire Gulthias.

Belkar wants to feed slaves to the tree in an attempt to understand more about this tree of death.

If in a fight, he completely plans on giving up about half way through. The party is already expecting to subdue, having brought manacles and are preparing for restraint combat.

My question is, when he invariably gets out, what PrC would make the most fluff sense? I'm not worried about power, I can add cool druid things to him along with lots of followers. I might add an undead template as well, but for now, is there a PrC for Druids that deals with undead? If not, a PrC that is more plant based rather than animal?

I can't think of any plant-based prestige classes other than land-forged walker, and that's for warforged. However, I made such a class a while back, the Viridian Aspirant (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235831). It's one of the homebrews I'm most proud of, actually. You could change one or two of the evolutions to better fit an undead tree thing, like replace the hawk/owl you can get with a vulture.

There is a noticeable lack of Plant-influenced PrCs. As for undead flavored classes that Druids can enter, I think your options are limited to Blighter and Walker in the Wastes.

One problem with Blighter however is that you need to become an Ex Druid to take the PrC.

Talontar Blightlord from Unapproachable East is a plant themed Druid PrC, and it has a little to do with undead.

If you're looking at homebrew, DragoonWraith's Deadwood (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168881) won a PrC homebrew contest a while ago, and that may be what you're looking for.

The Talontar Blightlord from Unapproachable East springs to mind:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ue_gallery/49916.jpg

it becomes a Plant Creature at 10th level- and at 1st level it can prepare spells from the Blightbringer prestige domain. These spells include Finger of Death, and Energy Drain.

Its animal companion gains the Blightspawned template- turning it into a disease-ridden plant.

EDIT: swordsaged.

Deadwood is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!
