Just wondering in terms of Martial Classes what do you guys find are the best (non-chessy) ways to have a high attack rating and chance of critical hit (which is an automatic hit, critical or not).

Rapier/Falchion/Scimitar + Keen gets the crit range to 15-20. : / No feats required, just 8,3XX gp required.

Anything that adds a +bonus to attack will help to confirm, so standard Weapon Focus and Bard/Wizard/Cleric buffs via Heroism, Bless/Aid, etc.

Is there anything above that though that can contribute to a higher critical hit chance?

Disciple of Disapater PrC doubles, then triples the threat range for metal weapons.

Not all critical threats are automatic hits; only natural 20s qualify.

As far as ideas, a somewhat dubious reading of the (3.0, unmodified, dependent-on-3.0-critical-range-stacking) Disciple of Dispater PrC would allow this; Kaorti resin weapons increase crit multipliers, but require the involvement of evil creatures from beyond reality.

Power Critical feat makes confirmation more likely.

Attack bonus is mostly just getting a lot of Str, greater magic weapon/+X weapons, and miscellaneous bonuses like Inspire Courage, pale green ioun stone, and maybe Weapon Focus. (There are lots of others, of course.)

IIRC, the only thing that unambiguously stacks with Keen is the 7th level ability of the Streetfighter Barbarian.

Edit: For attack bonus, the Heroism line are very snazzy.

Seems Critical Hits won't work the way I was hoping then so I'll need to go for a different approach. Thanks for the help though guys.
