Hey I was just wondering if you could provide names of horrifyingly disgusting spells, and either link them (dndtools.eu is where you might be able to find it) I prefer spells, but psionics are okay, and no invocations or incarnum stuff :p

Examples:
Vipergout SC
The Necrotic (whatever) spells LM
Avasculate (LM or SC)

Hm. Implosion (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/implosion.htm) is fairly disgusting.

Fireball.

Just think about it for a moment. Really any fire based spell is going to be terrible; acid too.

Touch of Jubilex, also BoVD. Rapture of rupture, same book, wins for fun name (unless we can count necrotic skull bomb).

Depending on how you want to play out the damage while being grappled, there's always the classic Evard's Black Tentacles.

Implosion is fairly nightmarish. As is Phatasmal Killer.
Just think about it, you go to kill a spellcaster, and your buddy is collapsed in on himself, just before you die screaming in horror as the most terrifying thing that you can imagine appears in front of you.

Undulent innards (which gains points for the name) is an interesting one, because it's a buff. It makes your internal organs slither around your body, making you immune to sneak attacks and critical hits, and giving a bonus to saves versus poison, disease, and paralysis.

Avascular mass is stomach turning, as it causes the target's blood vessels to leap out of its body and function similarly to a web spell.

Murderous Mist, Heart of Stone, Mindrape, Slime Wave, Infestation of Maggots. I found Complete Divine to be pretty good for horrifying spells.

Searing Seed, I think from Dragon #300. If I recall correctly, it impregnates a character with the summoned sperm of a demon to produce a quick-growing demonic duplicate baby.

detonation-does exactly what it says. cranial deluge from Complete Psionic causes an enemy's head to explode if they reach 0 or lower hp.

I have my own array that I've devised, but I haven't posted them anywhere yet (that's coming up soon).

Sometimes it's not the spell, but when you cast it. Had a PC in one of my games cast Hideous Laughter on a target that was underwater at the time....

.....The party never looked at that sorcerer the same ever again.

Summon Swarm. Why? Because, looking solely at the spiders, a "swarm of Diminutive creatures consists of 1,500 nonflying creatures or 5,000 flying creatures. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/typesSubtypes.htm#swarmSubtype)" How big are these spiders? Well, they're diminutive, which means they're at least six inches, though they could be up to twice that long. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/movementPositionAndDistance.htm#bigandLittleCreatu resInCombat) Each.

So you summon 1,500 poisonous spiders to swarm, not around, but all over your enemies.

Or you have the option of summoning 300 rats that are each the size of an adult housecat. Or you can summon 5000 bats.

There is some wonderful witch spells in Pathfinder.
Swarm Skin (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/swarm-skin) Vomit Swarm (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/v/vomit-swarm), and Skinsend (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/skinsend) are some particularly delicious examples.

My last character had a LOT of fun with Vomit Swarm. I never did get to try Army Ants... *sigh*.

Also, Fleshworm Infestation (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/f/fleshworm-infestation).

autocannibalism (pf) no explanation needed

seething eyebane (bovd)

your enemy's eyes explode and spray acid onto him and anyone he's standing next to, blinding him permanently (or until he can get his eyes back). as a 1st.

solipsism (spc)

your target thinks that everything in the universe except himself is a fake. that's pretty messed up if you think about it

sensory deprivation (spc)

your enemy is not only deaf and blind, but you suppress his other senses too. ouch.

I haven't looked at the list recently but the summon undead line can get pretty gruesome, depending on what you summon.

Well, SU IV has a 90% of one-shotting a tarrasque (rising as your CL increase), so there's that.

I always found Infestation of Maggots to be pretty nasty as spells go.

Heart Ripper also gets added to the list because, while it is probably not agonizingly painful, I would imagine someone reaching into your chest to attempt to literally pull at your heart would be both scary and painful. And this is on a successful save.

Extract Water Elemental is described as particularly horrific. As per the spell description, the elemental is formed by forcibly pulling all water out of the creature's body, through its pores.

As low level spells go, Belker Claws bared mention. If the spell is anything like the creature's ability, you are essentially forming dozens of tiny hands to claw and tear at the inside of the creautre's lungs. It's amazing (from a fluff perspective. From a design perspective, it is simply nice for a 2nd level spell) damage is the only effect of such a spell. You would think it would also cause nausea at least.

How's about apocalypse from the sky?

Nasty, and horrifyingly low damage. (:smalltongue:)

Also a remarkably easy way to destroy any artifact. Just get yourself immunity to fire and Constitution damage, go out in the desert somewhere, and cast it.

I was gonna post this. Those spells are all beyond disgusting and horrible. Someone magics up an evil tumor inside your body that grows and grows and can use it to usurp control of your body and mind or kill you or do any number of other awful things to you.

Augh! :smalleek:

Aboleth Curse (http://dndtools.eu/spells/stormwrack--87/aboleth-curse--3352/) turns the target's skin into mucus.

Choking Sand (http://dndtools.eu/spells/sandstorm--85/choking-sands--3163/) puts sand in peep's lungs.

Clutch of Orcus (http://dndtools.eu/spells/libris-mortis-the-book-of-the-dead--71/clutch-of-orcus--1471/) gives the target a heart attack, and somehow gets the heart out of there if they die.

Dessicate (http://dndtools.eu/spells/sandstorm--85/dessicate--3164/) and Mass Dessicate (http://dndtools.eu/spells/sandstorm--85/desiccate-mass--3165/), dehydrate the target(s) by evaporating the water out of their body.

These spells are all Necromancy. It's like one big creepy school.

The Baleful Teleport spellpower (PF version at least) is described as doing its damage by teleporting away small *parts* of the target. This can be really horrible if you describe it properly. Even just "the psion attempts to teleport your skin three feet to the left" is... a rough way to die. If you go more in depth you can easy end up at Silent Hill level body horror.

Edit: said spell, was thinking power.

Flensing, Complete Arcane pg. 108

When you cast this spell, you literally strip the flesh from a corporeal creature's body, inflicting incredible pain and psychological trauma.

Heart Ripper, CA pg. 110

With a sweep of your hand, invisible bolts of force slam into your targets, instantly slaying each target by driving its heart from its body

Programmed Amnesia (pg. 118 same book)...does just what you think it does, ruining someone's life seems pretty nasty.

Pretty much everything from Book of Vile Darkness (BoVD) is a nightmare.
