Due to your various reasons, you have found yourselves as brand new members of the Black Ship Pirates, a large pirate group found primarily on the grand line. Your ship is heading to the grand line to meet up with the captain, Talis Lams.
Your ship's crew is rather small, consisting only of the shipwright, Troy Mathom, the doctor, Samuel Ventrui, and the captain, Kagami Kurotsuchi.

Samuel Ventrui

Once again finding himself without much to do on such a small ship Sam is relaxing in the crows nest. Keeping an eye out for any anything that might alleviate his boredom and quietly humming a few bars of music to himself.

Troy Mathom

Looking over the ship, Troy sighs. The calm before the storm. He knows going to the grand line means trouble; meaning a lot of work on a shipwrights part. He looks up at the crows nest to the ship doctor and wonders about the state of the crew. Shouldn't we be bringin' a navigator?

Kagami Kurotsuchi

Kagami examines a glass sphere filled halfway with a dark grey substance, then drops in a green tablet. The liquid immediately starts to fizz and turn a pale shade of sickly green, getting Kagami to frown, "hm, not the right mix yet, still to weak," she mutters, writing some notes into her journal, she needed to find something to strengthen the mix soon, as it was, it was way too weak to be worth the cost.

She turns to the rest of her crew, "any sign of land yet Doctor!?" she calls up to Samuel, "I want to get a navigator and a chef as soon as we can!"

Samuel Ventrui

Sam rolls onto his feet to get some extra height before covering his eyes from the sun and scanning the horizon.

A telescope at least would be useful

Quite the stroke of luck, you think, as you spot land on the horizons.

Samuel Ventrui

Sam shouts down from the nest to the others on deck.
"Yea we got something, can't make much out yet though!"

He also shouts down the heading to use if they aren't already on a direct course.

Kagami Kurotsuchi

Kagami shifts the ship slightly, veering to the port side for the island, "Let's hope we can get some supplies here," she mutters, knowing their 'funds' were an absolute joke, they'd probably have to take a few things, which did not sit well with her. At least they might be able to actually find a new recruit on the island, preferably a cook or navigator, the simple cooking the crew could do wasn't much, and it took all of them to find a good heading to get anywhere. It was annoying, but it's all they could do until they got more crew members or Talis decided to give them a new member from his crew... unlikely.

"Yeah, we'll need more supplies when we 'ventually get a navigator. It'd be a nice change to know where we're goin'." Troy smiles at word of land and crosses his arms.

As the island draws nearer you are able to make out its shape. On the side you are headed for there is a bustling city. As for the other side, all you can see is a high wall of stone. You cannot tell if it is natural or artificial. (natural might be, say, a cliff). Do you go towards the city to dock there, or try to drop anchor somewhere else?

Batpope Scott
2013-06-21, 05:17 PM
"What's our plan, Captain?" Troy walks to the bow and uses his hand to keep the sun out of his eyes while he looks at the enormous wall.

EdroGrimshell
2013-06-21, 08:49 PM
Kagami frowns for a bit, thinking, "anchor us away from the port, see if we can't find a cove somewhere we can hide the ship until our departure. Hide our flag as well, we don't want to draw unwanted attention while we're here," she says after a moment, "I don't want to longer here longer than we have to either... I'm really not liking the look of that wall."

Batpope Scott
2013-06-21, 10:26 PM
"A'right then, hidden cove searching it is."

Troy jogs up to the wheel so he can get the ship moving. "Hey, Doc, get the flag fer me would ya?"

Sailing roll, if I need it. [roll0]

Sam leans over to untie the knots holding the flag to the mast before hiding it inside the nest with him.

Soliloquy

There are no hidden coves on the side of the island you are on, but if you cross the wall, which you now realize is a cliff, you might find one.

Spacewolf
2013-06-23, 06:03 PM
Sam relays what he sees and offers the advice they circle around the island to see if there is a suitable cove on the other side and if not they will just have to use the port.

EdroGrimshell
2013-06-23, 11:29 PM
"We'll circle around once to see what's on the other side, then we can decide whether to go to the docks or not," Kagami calls up.

Batpope Scott
2013-06-24, 09:36 AM
"Got it, cap'n." Troy maneuvers the ship to circle the island, as is the plan.

Soliloquy
2013-06-24, 02:33 PM
From the other side you see that the rock wall is indeed a cliff, and that the other side is essentially half of a mountain, covered in plant life. There is a cove.

Batpope Scott
2013-06-24, 09:53 PM
"The cove'd be an ample hidin' place if'n we aren't gonna find other pirates 'ere."

Troy readies the ship to enter the cove, but waits to make sure the captain agrees.

EdroGrimshell
2013-06-24, 10:10 PM
"We'd have to circumvent the mountain both to get to the town and to get back to the ship, we'll go to the docks," Kagami calls over to Troy, "if it weren't for the mountain, we'd set up here, but as it stands, we'd lose our supplies before reaching the ship crossing the mountain."

Batpope Scott
2013-06-24, 11:28 PM
"Ah, good call. Goin' back around." Troy gets the ship back in motion to head to the docks. Mebbe we can actually dock now.

Spacewolf
2013-06-25, 02:41 PM
Sam keeps an eye on the various other ships docked as they come alongside. Trying to tell what sort of place the port was going to be from the flags on display.

Soliloquy
2013-06-25, 09:12 PM
There are only a few ships in the port, and no marine ships. You dock easily.

Spacewolf
2013-06-27, 10:19 AM
Sam climbs down from the Mast to see what's going on, although he had been expecting Lams to have at least someone keeping an eye out for ships docking in the town.

EdroGrimshell
2013-06-27, 04:09 PM
Kagami hops on deck and ties off the ship, "someone should probably stay with the ship," she says.

Is your ship flying a pirate flag?

Is your ship flying a pirate flag?

(No we took it down before getting into port and the sail has no identifying marks, and even if it did it's currently up.)

Soliloquy
2013-06-27, 05:43 PM
You hear a voice yelling "Boat!" and a figure begins running towards the dock.

Who is leaving the ship?

EdroGrimshell
2013-06-27, 08:08 PM
(Kagami's already off the boat, needs to be to tie off the ship, but she'd be likely to stay behind for research purposes if someone doesn't want to stay on board.)

Spacewolf
2013-06-28, 02:23 AM
(Sam would probably get off to at least check out the local apothecary)

Soliloquy
2013-06-29, 08:24 PM
Sam and Kagami step off the boat as a young woman runs up to the ship.

"Welcome to the abandoned town of Tieper. What brings you here today?" She says with a grin.

EdroGrimshell
2013-06-30, 01:52 PM
Kagami raises an eyebrow, "abandoned?" she asks, "if the town's abandoned I doubt we'll be able to resupply here."

Batpope Scott
2013-06-30, 05:36 PM
Troy sits himself down on a barrel as he waits and guards the ship. Better than goin' down someplace I ain't familiar with.

Spacewolf

Sam keeps his eyes open until the welcoming committee offered more information on what exactly was going on in the town.

Soliloquy
2013-06-30, 10:29 PM
"Oh no, there was never a 'non-abandoned town of Tieper', it's always been abandoned, from the day it was founded."
This woman is not being nearly as helpful as she thinks she is.

EdroGrimshell
2013-07-01, 10:52 AM
Kagami blinks, "not very helpful, considering we're looking for supplies, an abandoned town doesn't help us at all in that regard."

Spacewolf
2013-07-01, 11:08 AM
"Why don't you give us a run down of the history of this place so we know what your talking about and why are you here if the town is abandoned?"

Questions about the setting in the OCC

Soliloquy
2013-07-01, 01:33 PM
"Do you see that large cliff? Everything in this town was assembled from the objects dropped off onto this side of the island." She pauses before finishing, "even the people."

Spacewolf
2013-07-01, 01:45 PM
"Oh really? So are you animated by some outside force, do you age, get sick, have any doctors on this island and when you say this island is abandoned are you including your own people in that or are there alot more "Cliff people"?"

By the end of his rash of questions Sam was probably standing fairly close to the girl and closely examining her to see if anything stood out to him about her physiology.

Breathing rate etc, I take it she looks outwardly normal?

Soliloquy
2013-07-01, 02:23 PM
"Animated? If that's a fancy word for dropped, then yeah. Of course we age. We aren't monsters. We age, die, and are vanish just like all humans. Abandoned is part of the name. We all still live here."

She has short black hair, which covers her right eye. You also notice that she has an earring on her right ear. That's about all you can see though, as she is wearing cloths much too large, and the sleeves cover the hands.

EdroGrimshell
2013-07-01, 02:39 PM
"I think he means a drop such as that would have killed most humans, excuse us for being skeptical about the story," Kagami replies, "I'm Kagami Kurotsuchi, this is Sam, our doctor. Would you mind showing us around?" she asks.

Spacewolf
2013-07-01, 02:39 PM
Guessing he might have more look if he could get into town for a look around Sam tries to move the subject on.
"So what do the people from the other ships that come here do?"

I take it she's old for Vanish and Dropped from the mountain to just be euphemisms like getting dropped off by the stork and going to the farm?

Soliloquy
2013-07-01, 03:12 PM
"Sure!" She says, and starts walking. "most of them come here to refuel on supplies, or pillage, and that sort of thing."

Spacewolf
2013-07-01, 04:05 PM
Sam keeps an eye open for an apothecary while walking though the town as well as anything else out of place. With the amount of money he had he was probably going to have to ask about for growing spots of healing plants rather than just being able to buy them.

EdroGrimshell
2013-07-01, 07:55 PM
Kagami follows along. Her eyes would naturally drift to unusual ingredients she could experiment with, but she probably wouldn't buy anything until they had supplies in hand.

Soliloquy
2013-07-01, 08:04 PM
She points out most of the usual buildings one finds in a town, an inn, a tavern a healer's, a general store, a school, and even a dojo, but the tour ends with no apothecary.

The town is set up with the storefronts surrounding the docks, with the houses on the other side, or over the stores. You notice that there are far more houses than stores.

Spacewolf
2013-07-03, 09:59 AM
Sam goes back to the ship to tell Troy it seems safe to leave it unguarded before going to check out the healers.

EdroGrimshell
2013-07-03, 06:55 PM
"We'll just be purchasing supplies to last us the next island or two then we'll be on our way," Kagami says after the tour, "thanks for the help."

Soliloquy
2013-07-04, 11:23 AM
"Sure! Most of the stuff is for barter, and some's even for free. If you can't find what you need, check on the other side of the houses, but remember to keep looking up!" She leaves, returning to her watch.

Batpope Scott
2013-07-04, 01:45 PM
Troy walks over to the side of the ship as he sees the ship doctor come back. Upon hearing the harmlessness of the town he says "Ya see anyone interestin' down there?"

Spacewolf
2013-07-04, 02:13 PM
Sam shouts back "Not yet, nah."

Batpope Scott
2013-07-12, 02:25 PM
Troy grumbles acknowledgement to the doctor as he steps off the ship. He looks around for someone to tell him where a butcher or fishery would be. gotta restock the ship, I guess. Hope the cap'n isn't distracted by somethin' and goofin' off.

Soliloquy
2013-07-13, 10:31 AM
Troy cannot find a butcher, as there isn't one, but does manage to locate a fishery near the docks.
