I was just wondering how many characters worth of text can be in one post, and if spaces count. Thanks for the answers :) Im just writing a project and wanted to know how much a post could hold.

From memory it's 50 thousand, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong. It does include spaces, quotes, and all BB code (conversely, the minimum does not include quotes or BB code).

If you need more than that for an article, you can split it into two or more posts. Reserving the first reply if you feel the first post will extend past that is acceptable also.

50000 is what I remember hearing but I don't think I've personally checked it.

Using the old typewriter rule-of-thumb that the average word consists of 5 letters and a space, this works out to approximate 8000 words of pure text, and books typically have around 250 words per page, so in those terms, about 32 pages give or take.

Wow.

It doesn't seem like that many pages...
