Hi everyone,

I´m looking for pre generated NPC statblocks so I can come up with encounters on the fly. I´m thinking of something like the NPC gallery from Pathfinder´s Gamemastery guide, only for nonhuman characters. (orcs, goblins, elves... anything humanoid) Is there any Pathfinder or 3rd edition rulebook that has something like that? Web sources are also welcome.

The 3.5 DMG has pre-made stats for NPCs of all PHB classes from 1st to 20th. (Yes, of course they're crap, what do you expect?)

If not, creating them on Dingles Games ends up being very quick.

Player's Handbook II has quick (N)PC creation guidelines (but not statblocks) and just about any splat book has stat blocks for prestige classes (with plenty of errors, but what the heck).

There are also a few web sources I find moderately useful.
http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/D20_NPCs_by_Challenge_Rating
http://www.dmtools.org/index.php?sort=cr&cr=4.00
http://www.myth-weavers.com/generate_npc.php
http://monsteradvancer.com/

And finally, older versions (try version 5) of pcgen (http://pcgen.sourceforge.net) had quick random NPC creation, but the results are mediocre at best and it was temporarily removed in the newest version.

When it comes to having an actual book like that, I'd recommend Pathfinder's new NPC Codex (http://paizo.com/products/btpy8sdq). It has over 300 characters (NPCs), including at least one level of every class in the core rulebook. Changing things such as weapons or spells is easy.

I don't have the book myself, but I've heard very good things about. I have no idea how many of those pregenerated NPCs are elves/goblins/orcs, but I imagine changing their race is only a minor edit. Just copy the statblock and change all the racial bonuses. Even if you don't change the racial bonuses, most players won't notice!

As sort of an add on, when coming up with the stats for guards, zombies, goblins, etc, just use a single set of stats. It does get rid of some realism, but it greatly increases the time process. You can have one bandit's stats written on your sheet and then just leave space to mark off each of the 12 bandits' HP. I usually don't even fully stat out characters, only what I need and don't think are obvious.
