Do natural weapons (like a claw), count as being an unarmed attack?

so unrelated side nonsense question:

how can someone of a Medium size, extend their unarmed attacks to grant themselves reach? (ie some sort of stretch armstong type thing)...

The reverse, I believe. All unarmed attacks count as natural weapons, not all natural weapons are unarmed attacks.

There is a feat in one of Dragon Magazines which lets you combine your unarmed attack and natural weapon attack. Normally you may during full attack get your unarmed attack routine and then your claws/bite/whatever. You should only remember that you cannot make natural attack with limb you attacked before (so you can combine greatsword swing with bite or even shortsword with bite and one claw. Unarmed attacks of course lets you attack with your legs/knees/etc. so it's probably best to combine with claw attacks).
As for extending your reach - enlarge spell, willing deformity (tall) feat, warshaper PrC, inhuman reach feat.

To extend: there is in general no such thing as an "unarmed attack". There are unarmed strikes, but those are a specific natural weapon with specific rules, and there really isn't any way to confuse them with other natural weapons like claws.

As for gaining reach, willing deformity (tall) will do it, but you also have to take the feat that starts the chain, willing deformity, which does barely anything. Inhuman Reach will do the same, but requires the entry feat of aberrant blood, which does slightly more than willing deformity. I don't know of any way faster than two feats. Sorry.

3 levels of warshaper will do it. Morphic reach doesn't have a stipulation that it is used with natural weapons, manufactured weapons, or unarmed strikes. It just gives you reach.

As a bonus Warshaper as a move action will let you make your natural weapons bigger or even grow new ones. This class is so nice in letting you become monstrosity from horror movies or even challenge Cthulhu to squick contest.
