GUYS! He was obviously making a reference to this (http://xkcd.com/974/), in strip 894! The title of xkcd 974 is "the general problem", while the title of OOTS 894 is "the last room." Notice the similarities? That's right, both titles are exactly three words and the have the same first word, "the"! Even more obvious, both titles contain three words which start with consonants! Obviously this is a reference!
