Important Note for Villains
Conflict is great! It's the heart of any story, and there isn't much to roleplay without it. However, as a player to player courtesy, please check in with the players who are active at any given time before launching an attack. Not everyone wants to roleplay combat scenes, and sometimes there are other things going on that players don't want to interrupt for a random fight. Either a PM/IM to players, a short post in thread to say (Mind if I introduce a villain here?) or a longer post in the OOC thread if it's a larger plot is appreciated.

The scorpion looks confused. His claws are big enougth to grab a person (and amybe cut it in half). The String, with his crystal end, might be something you could use like a pen, but it needs little imagination to gess what is is made for.

"Yes, Kyran. We're here. Getting bored playing with everyone's helmets?"
Kyran shuffles for a second before folding his arms and puffing at the air. "No, you're bored."

The shuttle pulls to the entrance bay, and pressurises. A slight rumble rocks the ship as oxygen is pumped into the small checkpoint. All weapons are checked, licences registered, and decons run. All armour is packed in heavy-lift gear, and are rolling on the floor.

[HALO Main Entrance]
The ensemble of soldiers walk through the room, and stretch out their limbs in an attempt to loosen up the muscles. The lead man, an Urban Dynarai by the name of Elendro Elessedil, takes in the sights of HALO through his slit, yellow and blue eyes.
"I think this will be a nice change of pace from the waiting while the Immortality be being refitted," he says.
"I wonder if there are food synthesisers here. I could go for a sandwich and some seaweed-wrapped fish rolls, right now."

The second soldier is a half-Dynarai named Kyran Meidaas. With all sorts of incomplete or co-dominances about him, it's easy to distinguish him from humans or full Dynarai. He searches around the room for the base map.
"I'm going to get a download of the map. We will need it later," saying in a slightly tired voice.
Kyran gets his MC5 Wrist-Mounted Datanet Terminal prepared, and walks to the overview of the HALO base to retrieve its listings and directions.

With Kyran walks a female ocelot. This is Koyomi Haturine, a Hikenian, better known as an Anthropomorph, or shape-shifter. Koyomi looks around the terminal before pressing her paws up to get a better view. "...You are here. Mess hall, crew quarters, engineering bay, armoury. I wonder where the catnip is." Koyomi is excited. She purrs in delight. "Caaaaatniiiiiip."

An additional three soldiers walk through the door. Ketsueki Yukionna is the next one in the line to enter. Her long, blood-red hair and sucker make her appear very laid back. She breathes in the air through her nose, and exhales with icy breath.
"This is HALO, huh? I thought it'd be smaller. And maybe a bit colder," she says without much emotion.
Her demeanour doesn't tell much, but on the inside, she's excited to be part of an evil-hunting battalion.

Kurutaris Inazuma looks out at the main entrance along with everyone else. As a Forest Dygarai, Kurutaris likes to analyse everything he can see. He sees the front, the halls to other sections, and the outside view of a school of fish swimming about.
His smile beams with excitement. "I will definitely enjoy it here!" And he walks around the main section, pausing to look at the scenery.

"HALO. An organisation dedicated to fighting evils, be it demonic, monstrous...
Anthropomorphic," and Koyomi furls her ears in discontent.
...Or vampiric.
Claire Harkness-Kalmiyasha was a vampiric human for several years before Kyran battered her and received the aid from his colleagues to free her from the Vampire Lord. As not all of her humanity is intact, she retains a portion of her vampire strengths and weaknesses. She'll sunburn easily, and her eyes are not accustomed to bright lights. Claire takes a deep breath and bares her fangs for a second before concealing them.

Finally, the remainder of Elendro's teammates enter the scene. Come three more, moving the heavy-lift gear with magic. They don't say anything, but merely look briefly at the area, and proceed to crew quarters.

The challenges Elendro and company faces are rather larger than life, and as such, requires a fistful of team-mates to stand steadfast against their foes.

With a narcissistic smile on her lips, Anastrinna replies,
"Just creating a physical spell powerful enough to cause a breach in durustanium, the most powerful alloy in the KSA database. It played an important part during The Battle of Juggernaut Starbase, where I syphoned power from a disabled ship's slipstream core to power the spell, shot it through torn space, and ripped that thing's armour to shreds!"
Anastrinna appears proud of herself, despite the normal professional appearance she tries to convey.

Koyomi, largely uninterested in the conversation that's happening away from her, thinks to herself, They won't miss me for a few minutes. And she grins on the inside as she starts exploring the base.

She finds a nearby alcove, and looks around every side of the room before entering the small nook. Rapidly, Koyomi transforms from her ocelot form to that of a young girl with a white dress shirt and skirt woven from lacing her fur together whilst transforming. She stretches her body and cracks her spine.
"Whew!" she says silently. "Now I find the catnip!"
Easily distracted as she is, nothing can get her away from a few things in non-combat situations. Lasers, string, cheeseburgers, fish, and catnip. In a light run to the mess hall, she begins daydreaming about the nice times she'll have in this station.

In this situation, she is available for conversation with anyone. She might be jumpy, though.

"That sounds neat. Wizards don't participate in actual battles. We sometimes have to deploy strike teams against particular baddies, but unless the Fallen is directly leading an army we have to stay neutral in planets' affairs. It's a rule. One which I am no longer bound by, of course. Other dimensions have their perks."

Elendro has his mind set on that rule. He was like that once. Acting on what he feels instead of what he's ordered. The War of Kaito'ion's and Meikona's Embodiments was certainly a wake-up call that everything can be done by order and by goodness.
"Yeah. Non-interference."
Soon, his mind was set on the destruction of the city Arecus, and faint noises of cannons and ballistae were running through Elendro's mind.

"I, um, had a Dygarai territory that was raided by Sodilians. The Infinity Academy, no less. Even if my orders were specifically, "to gather The Arcane Polyhedrons before they are drained, and eliminate only forces of demonic descent or collaboration thereof," I had my team rush to its protection."
The death of many unique and prized souls rung in Elendro's ears, and it soon took its emotional toll on everyone else currently in the group.

"It was a massacre before I even reached it. By the time the skirmish was over, over half the buildings were gone, and several priceless arcana lost. I was reprimanded for allowing the Polyhedrons to become more secured, but I didn't care. Better to save a fighting force in case one fails, aye?"

Ketsueki is placing her hands on her face, and her eyes are turning red. Anastrinna turned her head in sombre remembrance. General melancholy had been invoked to everyone else, as they had no experience with that university. :frown:

Koyomi is running to the mess hall when she comes across Thariza. She stops for a moment, and looks casually. She looks like she works here. I'd best not get my hopes up that I ran all the way to the mess hall without coming back with catnip. Maybe this nice lady can help out.

And with a quick slide on the floor with her shoes, Koyomi calls for Thariza's attention with a wave. "Miss? Could I ask you something right quick?" As her usual demeanour, she's very happy.

Natalia is sweating lightly. Holding kilos of equipment wasn't part of her job description, but as subordinate to Elendro, she struggles to maintain the spells. "Peachy, thanks for asking."

Elendro's eyebrows furl for a second, but dismisses whatever thought is in his head. "She'll be fine."
With a clap of hands, Elendro is focusing more now on meeting the mysterious "BR" and successfully registering the Mithril Knight Division Team Seraph to HALO.
Turning his head to Lex, Elendro gives him a better look, and says in a warm tone, "After you."

But once she's done, her normal, cheerful attitude returns to her. She takes a step back, and places her hands behind her back.

Whilst the two are shaking hands, Koyomi's face turns brighter as she remembers her common courtesy.
"Oh, my. I had forgotten to ask you for your name. The name is Koyomi, of the Haturine clan. And you are?"

"I'm Thariza... Ebonhorn," the Charr says. "But I'm going to change my last name soon, so don't put too much effort into remembering it."

Koyomi nods her head in acknowledgement. "I'll, ah, keep that in mind."

Once Thariza releases her grip on her hand, Koyomi will morph back to her ocelot form, moulding the white shirt and brown skirt back to fur, slowly turning back to paws and fuzz.
Koyomi looks back at Thariza one more time, then reverts her attention back to the main entrance where she must return.

[When Space Elf Avyri Throws Her Magic Shield!]

Avyri masterfully maneuvers her sword and shield about her so as to intercept what she believes will be BR's agile lightsaber strikes, which turn out to amount to no more and no less than a clever ruse, two feints followed up by a testing of her defenses! When at last BR launches this assault on her shield with his lightsaber, he might find her counter more compromising to his own defense than he might've foreseen. A second before BR's lightsaber connects with Avyri's shield, Avyri attempts to step in and viciously bash the hilt of BR's lightsaber to the side if she can do so. She'll attempt to create an opening which she'll then try to exploit in attempting to run him through except without the stabbing part. If all is successful, the tip of her sword might end up uncomfortably close to BR's flesh, though the smirking space beauty is obviously taking the utmost care not to follow through and actually impale him on her blade. That'd probably spoil the romantic night for the two aggressive lovebirds locked in a fierce warm-up for the real competition and fun soon to occur!

BR finds himself deftly outmaneuvered by the space-elf seductress, pausing and looking down, before looking back up with a smirk of his own, finding himself at swordpoint! "Perhaps...I'm a bit more out of practice than I thought," he allows, shaking his head in bemusement at himself. "Or you are more adept a swordswoman than I had thought..."

He allows her to hold him at bay for another moment, before flipping back, his shirt somehow choosing this dramatic moment to shed itself as he repositions for another move from his opponent!

BR's tactical backflip of dashing manliness is super effective! It gives Avyri a moment's pause. Before she so much as thinks of attacking BR once more, she spends a good couple of seconds flirtatiously ogling him with her sparkling bright blue eyes, her interest in the end of this duel decreased dramatically as her fascination and love for the journey by which the end will arrive skyrockets through the roof. With an eyebrow (and heart rate) playfully elevated as she not so slyly but silently compliments BR's features, she calls to BR in the voice of one absolutely captivated by a dreamy other,

"Why, I cannot figure out whether this is a most devious battle strategy or a most handsome reward for my efforts! Either way, you're distracting me and doing a flawless job of it at that and your impressive advantage tips this entire battle in your favor! Well..."

She'd never have ever in a thousand years thought up this underhanded tactic on her own, but she instantly feels and recognizes its devastating effectiveness. In a heavenly beacon of swirling wisps of blue virtuous light, Avyri's torso armor vanishes into thin air, leaving her in a scandalous gold-thread bikini top.

"...two can play at that game. All's fair in love and war, after all. Anything goes. And before we're done here, I think everything will go." :smallamused:

She flings her shield aside and raises her sword aloft attempting to boldly point the tip of it at BR, daring him to make the first move. He has given her an incentive to win that she cannot ignore but that same duplicitous incentive weakens her as much as it encourages her, if not more so. She attempts to circle BR intensely like a villain in a movie, though her intentions are not so sinister. Her eyes shift from BR to his glowing lightsaber and back again, though they lingers on BR more and more and on his weapon less and less as time passes. Gah! Focus on the weapon, Avyri, not on the hot, well-muscled eye candy!

And Avyri's distraction tactic is Super Effective! Well, for a moment, at least. As he begins circling as well, allowing his own gaze to drift from his opponent's weapon to her well-toned and curvaceous figure. Repeatedly looking back up to her gaze, then eyes drifting downwards once more, before being jerked back to her weapon hand...

And finally, he moves in, blade flashing as he brings it up in an attempt to dramatically clash against hers!

"Anything, and everything, indeed," the half-ghost promises the exotic elf from a distant land in a husky, almost-whispered tone, his eyes meeting hers in a long, steamy gaze before he steps back and begins testing her defenses, left, right, then left! More interested in Flynning (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flynning) than actual combat, though, it might appear, the better with which to admire her.

The muscle-bound half-Dygarai steps up to Patty, and tries to look least intimidating as possible.
"Name's Kyran Meidaas. Two A's. I'm Neutral Good, because I prefer taking things into my own hands, sometimes. Like the rest of my teammates, I operate for the Alliance and its Protectorate. About a few hundred years ago, I was part of the now-defunct Seraph Legion from the astral realm.
Abilities? Well, I'm stronger than all my team-mates. Pure magic isn't my strong second. I prefer melee with ground-shattering physical magic earth attacks. I want to join because I like a good fight. Also, because I follow Elendro everywhere. Key lime pie is cool, but I like myself a good pumpkin pie."

Ketsueki is next. She takes a moment to run through her memories with the team.
"I'm Ketsueki Hatsuyuki. Call me Ketsu, if you want." She says that part with a small smile.
"I'm Lawful Good, most of the time. Really, I try my best to abide by law. But, I suppose it's a Shield-Mate thing, but I can just protect people when it isn't my business. I think Elendro filled you in on the team's details, but I work with the Kel'Arthaes Alliance and its military, the Protectorate. I can cast protective transmutations that can keep anyone I choose alive for a while longer."
Ketsu is blushing as she speaks her reason for joining.
"I've been with Elendro since the Infinity Academy. Hard to stay away from him. But professionally, I just love to help people. And key lime pie? Way too sour for me. Sorry."

The dark and really dull Claire makes her way to the stand. A soldier-eyed gaze is all she conveys to show she's ready to work. But, formalities must be dealt with.
"Claire Harkness-Kalmiyasha. Chaotic Neutral. I work with Kyran and his buddies because they helped me out with a few problems I had in the past. I owe it to them. Oh yeah, and the Alliance's Protectorate. I work recon."
Claire's face turns, very subtly, worried. She whispers to Patty,
"I don't know how former vampires operate here, but if I'm not going to be a member of HALO, I'll work as a freelancer under Kyran, eh? So, I have superhuman speed, strength, and amazing agility with a scythe." As for key lime pie, I'll definitely eat that stuff up. I like sour tastes."

The ever-so-happy Koyomi Haturine takes her seat alongside Patty, and is very excited to work here.
"Hi! I'm Koyomi, of the Haturine clan. Chaotic Good. I scout out with my partners Claire, Aliyara and Kurutaris. They've gotten me from a tight spot with the Vasigaya. Along with everyone else, I work for the Alliance and Protectorate. Mithril Knight Division. Pretty hardcore. I have acute senses, particularly in sound, smell, and sight. I could spot a cute lil' fry from here to the waters outside your base. And key lime pie is a definite turn-off for me. Savoury food is my favourite."

Once Koyomi hops off with her usual silliness, a rough-looking woman sits down, and puts her left leg up on her right thigh.
"My name is Aliyara Kyudo. Largely unaligned, because I worked as a merc for Ancient Command before Elendro pulled me from the company under his wing. Got a few millions for the trouble. I work for the Kel'Arthaes Alliance for the Protectorate. I get pulled for deniable operations, sometimes. Really fun. I have the ability to sense my target if I can perceive him from any prior experience with any one of five senses. Kinda like a dog. Made the merc I was a while ago. Key lime pie is totally good."

A Dygarai woman calmly takes a seat across from Patty. She takes a deep breath, and places her feet below her chair.
"I am Anastrinna Madoushi, an Unaligned evoker. I've worked with Elendro at the Infinity Academy when we were younger. Since then, I've travelled with him in search of demonic power to be extinguished. I have affiliated myself with the galactic superpower, the Kel'Arthaes Star Alliance. Its exploratory and tactical subsidiary, the Galactic Protectorate, is my current occupation as a Runic Theorist, examining how runic magic is used in worlds that have adapted to its use.
