need advice on some tweaking

Hello! In a world that I've been working on for months now, I've come up with using religous adeptsto replace clerics and I'm wanting to tweak the magewright to replace the wiazards. Only problem is, magewrights spell list is very limited. Any opinions on tweaking the list to make it a suitable adventurer spell list? Reason is I want limited magic, and the idea of e6 doesn't appeal to me. Please help, thanks!

Maybe using the way wizards learn spells, but apply it to a specific school of magic? Use thewwizards spell list? Ideas and thoughts?

You know what? Has anyone else thought about slowing down spell progression? I like the idea of having the wiz, clr, and drd of my new world having their pwer slowed, but if I do that, would the non casting classes need a balancing act as well? Would love feed back please!
