Hand vs. Light Crossbows

Making a rogue and want to know the playground's thoughts on which is better. Besides firing two at a time, I don't see why anyone would chose the hand version. Unless I'm missing something.

It's discrete. And if it's only to deliver Zyklon B sleep poison, nazi drow assassins sneer at the puny damage output.

I am also not too keen on hand crossbow being an exotic weapon.

Less damage AND a feat to avoid -4?

Rogues gain proficiency with hand crossbows for free, something many people tend to forget. In addition, there's a lot of great stuff in DotU to help with hand crossbow users.
