Name the book (help me!!!)?

Ok so a long time ago I started reading a series and kinda wanna start reading it again but can't find the book or remember its name. I was hoping someone could help.

Heres what i remember: -the main character is very wealthy -he and his friends play a card game that involves faries and other mythical creatures -said creatures turn out to be real -his family turns out to be an influential group of a secret society dedicated to protecting humanity against the faries and orher evil creatures -the main characters father betrays him in the 2nd (?) book -the main character has a weapon called the Codex which can morph into a gaunlet or a ring for ease of transport -his love interest's family is also part of said society (her dad mistrusts him) -they descend into the underworld (or other similarly dangerous realm) -ragnarok and ydrassil factor into this somehow

That totally sounds like a Yu-Gi-Oh! spinoff.

Haha cept the card game isn't really important other than the protagonists remember facts about the monsters from when they played the game. Oh and their mentor is also the guy who owned the card store they all played at.

But yeah it does kinda sound like a Yu Gi Oh spin off huh, but no the book is not a Yugioh spinoff
