At 3rd level, I have a druid (functioning as primary spell caster, not a gish) looking to pick up the sutra magic feat (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/variant-magic-rules/sutra-magic), which gives me wis mod/day extra "spells".

The thing is, I only start out with one of these spells known, and finding another one is tricky. I am having trouble picking out which one I want. I am leaning towards Flames of Jade because it uses the power of the Green (nature) and is auto damage, which is nice for that level. Expecting to get to level 15ish (rise of runelords campaign).

If you go to the bottom of the page I linked, there are a couple dozen example "spells", called tofudas.

Your help is appreciated!

And props to Talya for finding this.

I quite like Roar of Heaven. Sonic damage + knock back + knock prone. Sounds like a winner to me!

That is the most anime power I've seen in Pathfinder. Should be great for pushing squishies off cliffs.

Is there any way to heighten these things?

You're making me want to add this to my 3.5 druid.

Actually, sutras are automatically heightened!

I meant beyond the normal level.

I meant beyond the normal level.

Beyond 9th? I don't believe so. The problem is that the system is new, and hasn't really been expanded upon yet. That was actually a homebrew target for me, but I really don't have the time to devote to it at the moment.

cone attack with built in selective target, yes please (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/variant-magic-rules/sutra-magic/celestial-blades)

edit; grounding charm is pretty nice, hold outsider/undead. full round casting touch spell though. :smallannoyed:

Well, for what it's worth, Grounding Charm works on Fey and goblinoids from 10th level on, and on any target at 19th. The casting time is somewhat weak, though I guess it could be used moderately reliably by melee combatants.
