I'm about 85% sure I'm right in my ruling for this, but having back up would be nice.
I have a PC who made a sorcerer and took the Metamagic Specalist variant from the Players Handbook II. He currently can use that skill 3 times a day.
He took the Empower, Slow and Chain Spell feats. (took a flaw)
He claims that he can use Chain Spell on Acid Spray, then use the Slow Spell feat on it three times, then get rid of all the casting time slow downs through his metamagic specialist powers.
I say "no". First, way too over powered.
Second, Slow Spell actually goes in and modifies the original casting time of the spell. The casting time then gets further altered because he is a sorcerer applying metamagic to a spell. Being a Specialist will remove the slow down from being a sorcerer, but won't re-modify the slow down from Slow Spell, since that has nothing to do with him being a sorcerer and everything to do with him using a feat as described.
Does this make sense? You guys think I'm right? Opinions?
