I am starting at first level. I have done very little for this char as of yet, but I do know I want to play a kobold cleric. All books are open by my dm. Any help would be great.

Well... are you planning on a kobold deity to worship, a dragon deity, or something completely off the wall, like Pelor?

What are your character build parameters? Point buy? Rolling? Alignment suggestion? or do you have total fiat?

Yeah, you'll have to give us more to work with aside from race and class, especially since a Cleric is one of the most flexible classes. Did you have any particular character roles you'd like to fill? Roleplaying aspects you would like to have some mechanical support?

who your worshipping is important. I would guess either Tiamat or Kurtlemak

Kobold Domain is awesome if you encounter traps often. There are lots of cool dragon gods with good domain selection. Being a Dragonwrought Kobold is cool for some of the dragon gods since you will be a dragon and can be the kind your patron is.

Check this out: LINK (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a)

It should give you a couple of ideas.

Go Cloistered Cleric (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#clericVariantCloistere dCleric) of Kurtulmak with the Trickery and Kobold (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a) domains, and the party doesn't need a Rogue any more. Additionally, you could secretly worship Vecna and get the Whispered Secrets initiate feat in Races of Destiny to gain Spot and Listen as class skills, always know when someone is using a Divination (Scrying) effect on you, and get spells like Disguise Self, Glibness, Arcane/Prying Eye, Mind Blank, etc. added to your Cleric list.

Sorry the last post was just a quick go.
We do stats with die rolls. I am thinking of Tamara or Pelor for deity. I am planning on NG and am the groups primary healer/caster. I will be in a 4-5 person party.

And we usually have to deal with undead!

...I am thinking of Tamara or Pelor for deity...primary healer/caster....usually have to deal with undead!4 words: Radiant Servant of Pelor.

RSoP is a prestige class in Complete Divine that requires NG alignment [which it looks like you will already have], Base Will Save +5 [which you can get with Cleric 6], Heal 5 ranks [which you can get by Cleric 2], Knowledge (religion) 9 ranks [which you can get with Cleric 6], the Extra Turning (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#extraTurning) feat [which you can take at Cleric 1, 3, or 6], able to cast 1st-level divine spells and access to the Sun domain [which you can get at Cleric 1] and must have Pelor as patron deity [which is one of your preferences and probably your best choice].

Once you change from Cleric class to the RSoP prestige class you switch from d8 hp to d6 and give up Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (the planes) as class skills. You gain Sense Motive as a class skill, plus a bunch of class features that boost your effectiveness at healing and at undead bashing.

Start with a NG Kobold Cleric 1 worshipping Pelor.
Pick up the Sun (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spellLists/clericDomains.htm#sunDomain) and Healing (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spellLists/clericDomains.htm#healingDomain) Domains. This already gets you started with a daily greater turning (RSOP will increase this to a number of times equal to 3 + your CHA modifier) and +1 CL on Healing spells (RSOP will later allow you to Empower (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#empowerSpell) and Maximize (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#maximizeSpell) these spells without using a higher slot). RSOP will later give you a bonus domain - take Glory for a +2 on turning checks and +1d6 on turning damage. AT RSOP 8 you will also get a positive energy burst that does damage to undead in a large area. Right there you have a very solid primary healer able to handle undead very well.

Pelor, the Burning Hate, is a fine deity for a Kobold Cleric; he was the deity of my namesake, in fact. Walker in the Waste is the Prestige Class for which you are looking.
