Hi all,

Im playing a Duskblade in an upcoming campaign, and Id like to have Use Magic Device as a class skill.

Id prefer not to dip into other classes. Is there any other way to get UMD as a class skill?

The only way I know of is the Apprentice feat, from DMG2.

If you're a human, you can take the Able Learner feat (first level only), which won't make it a class skill and won't increase the skill cap, but will let you get what ranks you can at normal price, rather than paying double for them.

Alternately, depending on what you want it for, there are a variety of ways to get around the need for UMD. Arcane Disciple: Magic, for instance, would let you use wands of any wizard spell without the need for a check.

Arcane disciple does not grant you the domain power, just the spells.

Here's a previous thread on the issue. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160850) It has the relevant advice.

Oh, right, in that case, use the feat Planar Touchstone to attune to Catalogs of Enlightenment. That grants the domain power without the spells.

Human Paragon 1 (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/racialParagonClasses.htm#humanParagon). Use Adaptive Learning to pick up UMD as a class skill, always and forever.

As a rule of thumb, anything you want to know about D&D has a handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=6832.0), in this case, on how to get new class skills.
