View Full Version : Adjusting Lifedrinker to Half-Vampires?

I am playing a Half-Vampire for a level 5 adventure. The character is based on Diplomacy/Bluff manipulation and a Grapple Blast Warlock build so he wont starve even as a caster (I do not know if it will be any good, but flavor wise Im loving it).

Since warlocks keep getting their invocations known, invocation ranks, and eldritch blast damage as they get Caster levels on Prestige classes, the DM and I searched for possible PrCs, but the only one that would be both good and interesting is the 1-level dip on mindbender (I am trying to stay far from Hellfire Warlock cheesyness).

We eventualy stumbled upon the Lifedrinker, a Vampire only class that is meant for casters but doesn't improve your caster levels. Huh...Weird.

We decided that we would adapt the Lifedrinker PrC to allow caster level progression and allow the Half-Vampire template. But there are many problems concerning vampire/undead exclusive features, such as the d12 Hit Die and boost to special abilities that the Half-Vampire doesn't have.

Therefore, I would like sugestions on how to adapt the Lifedrinker to work with a LA2 Half-Vampire template and remain relatively balanced.

EDIT: I do not know if I am asking this on the right forum. In case i should have posted this on Homebrew Design, I apologize in advance.
