Feat purchassing

OK, so there's the feat purchasing variant, but I seem to recall a variant "feat&skill training" or something where feat and skills were purchased with coin IC. Not sure that I or anyone else will use it soon, and it may be 3.0, but it's been irking me that I can't really recall where it was, so I was hopping the playground might ease my agitation. :smallbiggrin:

Well that's pretty useful, but think this was an optional variant instead of gaining them every 3 levels. :smallconfused:

Yeah, I initially misread your post. Not quite what you're actually looking for, but interesting. Could it be in the PHB II or DMG II maybe? I can check the DMG II, but I don't have a copy of the second PHB. Could it have been in a Dragon Mag at all?

Nah, pretty sure it was a 3.0 or 3.5 source book (not 3rd party either since I don't really read many). Could have been one of the second books... Not really sure. :smalltongue:

Magical Locations, such as the Otyugh Hole from, IIRC, Complete Scoundrel are another way to buy feats using GP.

Otherwise, all I can think of is E6, which substitutes feats in the place of levels above 6th level.

It's pretty barebones, and more about training instead of "I level up and instantly know how to blindfight!", but you could probably combine it with the rules from AEG on how to price feats on magic items.
