GUFIPOLICE STATION

Inside the building there are many people at various desks. They all have something in common, a badge. This badge certifies that they are members of a squad developed and devoted to doing just one thing, stopping crime. They are the GUFIPOLICE.

As you walk into the [Foyer] you can see a large doorway on the right in what you're sure is an outside wall. Looking through it you can see a set of metal stairs leading down to some more cells. A sign above the doorway says

I will update this as often as I can, but please remember that it may not be current.

The Rules:
If the police get evidence on a crime, and are able to track down the criminal, then we arrest him. The suspect will be in jail for a period of time according to the crime, after which the criminal will be released back into town. Due to rights for a speedy trial, the criminal will be held at max for 48 hours in the station if we can't settle it in court.

If the a criminal makes a successful hit, they will PM the person attacked with evidence. The person hit will only be able to tell us of the evidence. Outright attacks will lead to outright arrests.

To Report A Crime
GUFIPOLICE members will be identified by a badge in their signature. Anyone posting information in the station without a badge will be considered giving us a 'tip', but if the evidence is not collected by the GUFIPOLICE, it can not be submitted as evidence. Please LINK to the thread where the crime was committed. We play this as real time, so if we enter the building after the crime, all we can do is collect evidence/statements to prove the crime. If we are in the building while the crime is happening, that officer may make an arrest on the spot. If a crime happens, and there is no officer around, then the police don't know (although we may read OOC) that a crime happened.

To Kill An Officer
Also, to murder a member of the police (since we can make arrests on the spot) we agree to abide by the following rules for kills. Normal murders would be the evidence searching thing, but hits on police officers would be different.

1 hit: Arrested
2 hits: Both arrested
3 hits: Police choose one person to arrest, the organization the suspect belongs to (mafia/troupe/temple/horde/gang who decided to group together to make a police kill) members choose another one to be arrested by the police
4 hits: Police choose one person to arrest
5 hits: Organization choose one person to be taken by the police
6 hits: Everyone involved in the attack goes free
10+ hits: every goes free, 3 (Organization chooses who) of the participants cannot be arrested for the next crime they commit.

This must be hits in a row, if a random poster pops in and interrupts the hit, it stops the attack. Also one person = one hit, so for 3+ hits to happen, 3 different members have to attack. The officer being attacked will not have the option to interupt the hits, but may identify the people attacking them to another arresting officer.

To Become An Officer
To join the GUFIPOLICE force, either find the Captain or a Detective (see below) to swear you in. A police officer will receive weekly pay of 100gp, weapons (of your choice), weapon repair, and riot gear, a desk at the station, and room and board in the station barracks should they want to.
Senior Officers receive no pay increase, but have authority over other officers (within reason). Sergeants receive 125gp/week, have authority over Officers and Senior Officers, and can deputize citizens during an arrest, while Detectives in the force receive pay of 150gp each week, have authority over the lower ranks, may deputize citizens and swear in new officers, and handle police station political matters should the captain be off duty.

Internal Discipline
Officers who are discovered to be neglectful or willfully derelict in their duty will be subject to disciplinary action on a three-strikes system. Infractions last for 1 month, and on officer who commits three infractions within a month will have his badge taken away, his powers as an officer revoked, and be asked to leave the force.

Godric -he has a superiority attitude, Ravina -she only to happy to help and will give you flowers, Feorwyn - She is pretty darn surly for a lady, and Krista -she just wants to get the work done and is always running around hecticly.

All cells in the station and the cell block are made of reinforced adamantine and enchanted to block all use of magic and psionics inside them.

Godric looks at the gnome. While I am not an officer, I can tell you that such an act, if not taken in self-defense, would be defined as assault, and would land you in jail whether you did it to an officer or not.

A voice booms from the sky. Attention, my celestial servants. You are being deputized by the GUFIPOLICE. That gnome is a criminal. Arrest him.

The army of celestials of various types cease their work on rebuilding the police station and say, with one voice, You are under arrest for assault. Come quietly, or we will use force.

"Where do I go then?" The gnome says cheerfully?

One of the celestials produces a pair of manacles and goes over to the gnome. Once we are finished rebuilding, you will be put in a cell. In the meantime, you will sit here.

"No comfy jail cell? I didn't hit him for this!!!!"

The cells have been destroyed. We are rebuilding them as quickly as we can.

The strike connects and Godric goes down. Iames sees it happen.

Ah-ah-ah, no lethal force against a police employee. In my judgement as acting captain of the force, that entitles the use of lethal force in retaliation. So I really doubt you want to take it to that level.

You are under arrest for murder of a police employee. Surrender now, or I will employ lethal force against you. Iames's eyes blaze like violet suns, and he allows his divine aura to expand out to its full 21-mile radius, infusing his allies with determination and resolve, while his enemies (specifically the Hawk) feel despair and hopelessness encroaching on their minds. ((It's a mind-affecting ability)).

Did you really think that would work? He turns invisible and flys at Thecla, attacking her with his scimitar.

Iames scowls and considers pursuing, but then his player remembers the paper he's been putting off and decides not to.

Thecla looks up at Iames, there are 3 dead females at the Tavern behind an illusory wall. They smell like they've been dead for a week. Thecla twists to look at her side, she licks it and casts CMW on it, since the hawk 'ported away.

The station is completely rebuilt. The celestials go through the portal and begin refurbishing the cell extension.

Gaheris entered the police station, leading Gemini by the manacles.

"Godric, I captured this man in the Slums, destroying random buildings with fire and lightning. Iames deputized me for this purpose. I need him booked.

"Wukei was also in the slums, killing random NPCs. Might want to capture her at next opportunity. I have one thing to take care of, and then I'll be back to file a report and serve my own sentence. I'll be sure to bring something to read," he said with a smile over his shoulder.

Gaheris stepped back into the station.

"That went well," he said as he dismissed Percival and wiped his boots on the mat. "Good to know the bounty hunters are so disciplined about their work," he smirked. "Anyway, I'm here to file a report, and then to get my damnedable sentence over with."

Right. Godric picks up the keys and flies over to Cell 1, opening it. If you could disarm yourself before entering, please...

Gaheris began the non-trivial process of disarming himself. First he removed his sword belt, followed by his shield and knife and potion studded bandoleer. Next he slipped a dagger out of each sleeve of his tunic, pulled a long knife out of his right boot, removed his iron bands from their pouch on the inside of his cloak, produced another dagger from the folds on the other side of the cloak, and finally laid a blackjack on top of the small arsenal he'd piled on one of the tables.

"Take care of these, would you Godric? That sword is all I have left to me from my family," he said before walking back towards the cell block.

Barrik walks in to the police station in search of the sheriff.Excuse me, I need to talk to who ever is in charge, I need to prove someone's innocence.

Gemini, along side of Gaheris, "I am prepared to take a full sentance. I want to be forgiven. This sinned body needs repent." Gemini sighs.

[Renegade Paladin]

"Put him in the cell next to mine, would you Godric," Gaheris asked behind his shoulder. "I think we need to have a talk. Oh, and those are my manacles; could you put them with my weapons?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Godric takes the pile into the storeroom.

Ravina looks back after him for a moment, then tears her eyes away and looks at Barrik. Yes? How can I help you?

[Barrik_Arsland]

Barrik looks at Gordic, I believe Wukei is either possessed or has multiple personalities. The person who attack me, Barrik Arsland, was not Wukei, it seemed like a different person. Besides, don't you need me, the victim, in order to file the charge.

I don't know, actually. I believe we can still arrest her on charges for the NPCs.

Godric comes back out and leads Gemini to Cell 2. What were the charges against this fellow, Gaheris?

"There's still not exactly trivial matter of the people she killed before stabbing you," Gaheris called out across the station as Godric locked his cell.

He turned to face Godric. "He claimed to be sent by the god Valkar to destroy the Town because it's a cesspool of injustice or some such thing. He was doing precisely that; destroyed at least a dozen houses, probably with people inside."

Devian yells from within the hole on Iames' desk: When will you release me?! I'm bored!

Verdandi comes through the portal. Krysta, report.
Krysta looks up and reports professionally. There is said to be a wrecked ship on the beach, apparently some people were injured. A man named Gemini went on rampage through the slums. He is caught and over there. Wukei Shipmaster, or someone else, was reported killing some NPCs, and Gaheris is serving his sentence, along with a random gnome who punched out Godric. Oh, and Hawk is wanted for assault and theft.
Verdandi nods, thinking through it all.

Hmm. Multiple murder charges, multiple charges of vandalism... We're only allowed to hold someone for a maximum of 48 hours without a court sentence, so I'll put him down for that.

Iames enters and looks around at the bustle.

Barrik looks puzzled, So Wukei is free if I'm right.

Verdandi smiles at Iames. Hello.

[Calpurnia]

Calpurnia enters the station nervously, her tail swishing back and forth.

Godric looks at Barrik. Sorry, that last wasn't directed at you. And if Wukei is being possessed, we will punish the possessor rather than the possessee, if at all possible.

Iames goes over to his desk and opens up the hole after dismissing the antimagic effect. I'm sorry. Things have been a bit hectic lately, I honestly forgot you were there.

He smiles back at Vera. Hello, Vera. Seen the new plaque on your desk yet?

Verdandi turns to Calpurnia. What do you need, citizen? The valkyrie's voice is crisp and official. She shakes her head at Iames.

Devian jumps out of the hole and looks at Iames. It's about time! Counting stuff to pass the time is fun, 'cept for when there's nothing to count! He looks around. So, am I free to go? he asks no-one in particular.

"Oh. Good afternoon, Iames," Gaheris said with forced joviality, casually leaning against the bars of his cell.

[Calpurnia]

The centaur looks confused at being called 'citizen'. "Um... need? Uh... nothing, but, um..." she fiddles with a gold disc on a chain around her neck.

Barrik bows and then leaves.

Yes, for now. That will change if you commit more crimes. Hello, Gaheris. Count yourself lucky that you only have 4 hours to serve. I got 24.

Verdandi glares at Devian. You are free to leave, but you had best follow the law. She smiles at Calpurnia. Well, was there something you came for?

Devian's eyes flare, but die down. I will follow these "laws" of yours. You can count on that. He responds to Verdandi. Devian chuckles and leaves the Station.

Gaheris dropped the grin as his face turned serious. "I don't know whether Wukei's possessed or not. What I do know is that I saw her killing people and exhibiting strange powers; she seemed to be moving around by summoning some sort of stream of water and melting into it." His face looked grim. "Even if she is possessed, she should be brought in for safety reasons until this thing's cleared up. The people at the bounty office were being remarkably uncooperative when I went to report this to them; I was fairly thrown out of the door."

[Calpurnia]

She winces as Verdandi bears her teeth. "Uh... no, but I was wondering... do the, um, Gufipolice cooperate with the, um, authorities of other places when, um, they are looking for escaped criminals? And, um, would it count as assault if they attacked the criminal? And would, um, hot pursuit laws apply?"

[AmberVael]

I believe that we only handle the crimes within our district. Is that correct, Iames?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames nods. It is. Just out of curiosity, why do you ask? He directs the last comment at Calpurnia.

Verdandi shrugs and moves to her desk. She smiles a little at the new plaque and makes note of Hawk, Wukei, and the shipwreck. Iames, did you ever look into that shipwreck?

[Calpurnia]

((Sorry, I had to engage in a debate involving chicken and nutmeg for a while there.))

"What?! Oh. Um, no reason. Just, y'know, something I, um, thought of a while ago and I, um, saw the station and thought, um, 'why not, um, ask?' So, yeah." She smiles nervously.

Iames's face becomes more serious and he holds up a hand to Vera. To Calpurnia: If there is a danger, or a potential danger, I would very much like to know.

[Calpurnia]

"Danger? Um. No danger... Um... It's nothing."

"I'm not sure," he said with a shrug. "So, why were you trying to destroy the Town in the first place? I don't think I've ever heard of Valkar."

"Well, Valkar is the god of courage. But I don't know why he sent me to destroy the slums. He enchanted me and gave some of his deity powers, making sure I would obliterate the place. I wanted to at first, because of power. But once I saw all the homeless people there, I gave up. The beacon of light that spread across the whole city, yea. That was me. I have made a special barrier so that he could not send any of his royal guards to come after me. I'm not sure how long it will last, that is why I must get out of here. I must get out of this town. Otherwise, it will surely be destroyed. It also seems I still have some power left over. The magic I use isn't ordinary magic, it's god magic." Gemini walks over to the bars of the cell. "There's been another murder. I found a body in an alleyway near Iames' temple, throat slit." He paused. "There was great evil there. Some form of vile taint; I don't know why, but something apart from the simple act of murder is horribly wrong."

An android with a pistol in each hand enters the building. He looks for the nearest person of authority, then admits to murdering an innocent in the slums. It has a smirk on its face as it does this, and offers evidence by displaying a holographic message involving an innocent man shot in an alley. It shows the android commiting the act in great detail. It would appear that the man was shot several times even after he was deceased.

Iames smiles as the bullet wounds are healed instantly. Assaulting an officer with intent to kill. You must have a death wish. Iames creates a forcefield blocking all exits and sends a blast of electricity at the android.

Gods, Jormungandr mumbles, flicking his tail.

The electricity has temporarily disabled the android. In his last moments of conciousness (if you could call it that), he accidently displays another hologram, this one of a cloaked being commanding the android in a dark room filled with sharp devices likely for the purpose of torture. The cloaked one seems to have a red dot as the only visible thing in the hood. Go out, and purge the foreign dimensions of all potential resistance. Edit: (After that, its red eyes go black, and it falls to the ground. The pistols are sealed inside of the android's chest.)

Gaheris jumped wildly backwards out of the way of the exchange of bullets and magic, coming up with Bright Edge somehow in his hand instead of it's sheath, held in a guard position.

Iames picks up the android and puts him in Cell 1. Godric, 1 charge of murder, one charge of attempted murder. 48 hours in all. Godric nods, writing the information down, and Iames blocks the gaps in the bars with another forcefield, dismissing the first one. Then he disappears.

Jormungandr shakes his head. I think the other NPCs have the right idea when they say that the PCs don't care about us... He sighs and heads to the door.

"Okay, so what's going on," Gaheris asked the NPC as he moved to the door. "Here, let me take a look at that," he continued, indicating the wound and removing his right glove.

Jormungandr shows him the wound on his back. A woman shot me today...in a temple. The temple banned her once before for attacking it's regulars... He clenches his fist, But they've done nothing now...

"Here," he said compassionately, his eyes and right hand beginning to glow a pale, watery blue. "Is any of the arrow still in you?"

The android reactivates itself later, and curses itself for its naivete concerning the magc of this world. It examines the cell, and its situation. It talks to anyone in hearing distance, saying:Get me out. Now.I have authority to commit my actions.Edit: (It redisplays the hologram with the cloaked being,and threatens to contact an army if not released.)

Jormungandr glances at the robot and chuckles. He then turns back to the paladin. No...nothing else is in there. He looks down at himself. Ah, forgive me. He transforms into a full subject. I am Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent. Eldest child of Loki, god of Chaos.

Gaheris looked up from tending to Jormungandr. "Oh shut it, you metal git," he said in an irritated tone. "You have no authority here." He softened his expression as he turned back to the snake-man. [Yuan-ti?] The blue in his eyes changed to a slightly more solid color as an afterthought.

Your authority is not recognized here, Godric responds. Go ahead and call your army. Town has weathered such things before, and it will do so again.

He checked out all right, but his words surprised Gaheris. "Child of Loki," he said in a slightly shocked voice as healing energy flowed into the snake-man's wound, sealing it. "Well, I should think you'd have hardly needed my help with that. What brings you here?"

Originally? My sister. Now I stick around for a young lady I've found quite a bit of interest in. And you're wrong about not needing your aid...we can still be injured, and healing is not in my portfolio.

The android paces about, disappointed that his bluff failed so miserably. All contact with his lord had been lost months ago. He thinks of something else to attempt.
It flashes series of brutal murder scenes commited by the android, all clearly not occuring in this town. It flashes from event to event, showing the most graphic things it can find in its memory.
The sound and image quality are perfect, and the droid has a cruel smirk as he displays the various brutalities.
Free me, and the torment ends.

Please meatbag, I'm just bound by programming. Even if I found a way to resist my cloaked lord, I'd face this. It displays swarms of robot soldiers now, gunning down civilians in the street and swarming in unimaginable numbers.
After that it switches to the torture devices it so prominently showed before, and moved the view to show androids being tortured in devices that were equally, if not more cruel.

It then does the same thing, only displaying text for the speaking parts.

With the big guy gone, the android spits out every trick he's tried so far again and again, trying to appeal to every human emotion it knows of. All at once. THe holograph display becomes a blur.

The android prattles on, calling everyone in the general area meatbags, and insinuating that the police force is largely imcompetent.
The torment seems to never end. Suddenly, the android deactivates itself, the guns are put away, and the red eyes go black as it sits down, leaning against a wall.

"Finally," Gaheris grumbled.

Jormungandr smiles, Oh, I don't know. Sometimes I like to watch how idiotic they act. It makes me think I'm still sane.

He regarded Jormungandr with slightly narrowed eyes. "Sometimes, yes. Anyway, I've spent far too long here; I have other business that I need to attend to. I'll try to send the first officer I see around to help you," he said, inclining his head to the demigod as he stepped towards the door.

Jormungandr nods to him as well before disappearing in a swirl of water.

The droid reactivates and tests to see if the silence spells have faded.

Rather than continue ranting, it studies the barrier in silence, feeling its texture and attempted to analyze it with technology not designed with magic in mind.
He learns nothing more than the obvious:He is sealed in and unable to free himself.
If the silence spells are down, the android states its name, Evil Secret Agent Robot Stick. Or ESARS. Afterwards, it spends some of its time spinning its pistols, performing a variety of flips, catches, and the like. It then projects a holographic human, and spends the rest of the night practicing ts accuracy, with realistic damage dealt to the human. Every few seconds the guns would suddenly have new ammo, and the human's damaged parts being regenerated.

At this point, the android is seething with rage and makes a series of gruesome and violent threats. None of these seem to bother the agent at all.

"Huh. The Police Station. Not the brightest place to walk after commiting a murder," Snake says, entering and looking to the android, "Looks like you did to yourself what I intended to do. I don't know whether to be relieved or disappointed, really."
Looking to the other man and listening to the argument, he adds, "You two family? You might take the disfunction award away from my brothers and I, if you are."

The stranger's attention turns back to Lord Iames.
There's a way to give him a longer sentence, right? Parole maybe? If not, I can promise you that me and him are going to have some violent encounters in the future.
The stranger leaves before given an answer. He is overheard muttering
Only hours? The bucket of bolts should've been able to get himself a death sentence by now!
The door is slammed on the way out.

Also, the android states that it(going to the station after committing murder) was done so he might ascertain the greatest threat to his mission. He doesn't say any more than that, aside from some meatbag comments and some violent threats.

"Ease up, sparky. I don't like your tone and I've killed much bigger, better robots than you before," Reptilus tells him in a condescending voice. Making an enemy of a powerful robot hours before he's released from prison might not've been a good idea, but if Snake had a nickle for every bad idea that he hadn't come out of ahead, he wouldn't have neough money for a stick of gum.
Which he didn't have, really, right now. Snapping away from the android, he turned his eyes to the potential case in front of him.

Meanwhile, the android gives a holographic presentation of what he plans to do to Reptilus. It starts with a violent spine snapping. It ends with him searching everywhere for an android that could ever aspire to compare to him. While accompanied by Reptilus's corpse, dragged along the ground.

"Look on a place called Eath. The Robot was some thirty feet tall, with machineguns bigger than your whole body and the ability to destroy cities in a single attack with no ability to stop or detect the assault. You've failed to escape from a prison cell after killing an unarmed man who isn't even dead any longer. I'm more impressed with it than you, sorry to say. Oh, and the couple Cyborgs I've fought? Blow you out of the water. Those guns of yours? They'd deflect the bullets. They could teleport, go invisible, and pick up that robot I just mentioned. They're half meatbag and make you look pathetic."

The android displays a holograph with NSC rebellion troops being slaughtered left and right by the android which is all alone. Also, it boasts that after a self evaluation, it is now immune to being overloaded with energy. ((Like lightning. Not like magic)) It checks its built-in clock, and displays its time left in the cell via hologram for all to see.

Maybe those androids and dirty crossbreeds have more muscle, but they sure as heck can't be mass produced the way I will. Once I prove my worth in your pathetic dimension, there will be millions of beings designed in my image. I will have the honor of leading them all.

For the time being, ESARS seems rather docile, compared to his earlier performance.
If there is nothing for him to do, he leaves the station peacefully.

Yes, he's in Cell 1 over there. Which reminds me... Godric flies over and lets NPC #whatever out of jail. Your time is up, now get out of here.

The NPC looks outside, and sees an NPC orc watching him, waiting for him to come out. He looks at Godric, and punches him. Whether or not the punch hit, he turns around, and locks himself back in his cell.

The Jedi Squirrel runs in and chatters fiercely, then leaps through the bars and mauls the NPC's face.

There is lots and lots of screaming.

After a moment the Squirrel fries the NPC with lightning, then depcapitates him with the lightsaber. Its scampers out the door.
And there was much rejoicing.

The NPC looks at Godric. I am pressing charges.

Gordric reminds him he just had his head cut off.

Godric shrugs. It was a Jedi squirrel that came out of nowhere, and if you wanted me to interfere, you could have taken control of me. I am an NPC, you know.

NPC #56781s9-2 walks in and cries out to see her brother dead.

It was a Jedi squirrel. It came out of nowhere and vanished before we could react.

Well, I expect it to be brought to justice.

A lightsaber flies in, aimed at the new NPC's head.

She ducks and cries out, before diving behind a desk.

The Squirrel leaps in after his lightsaber and then uses force lightning at the new NPC, his eyes red and crazed.

Stop, you're under arrest. Iames!

The girl rolls, and the lightning singes her shirt.

[AmberVael]

The Squirrel entirely ignores Godric, continuing to shoot lightning.

More and more of the shirt is singed as the girl keeps rolling.

Iames appears and takes in the situation. He uses hand of death on the jedi squirrel.

The Jedi Squirrel resists the divine power with the force of Player's Indomitable Will, and then begins slicing the NPC with his lightsaber.

She screams and dies.

Iames interposes himself between the lightsaber and the NPC. ((Or.... nevermind?))

The Squirrel chatters madly and lets his red lightsaber go out.

Iames attacks the Sith Squirrel, attempting to decapitate it with his vorpal hands.

The Squirrel does a leap and flip, then scampers out the door.

Iames sighs, raises the NPCs, and disappears from the station.

[McBish]

The mutt leads Mark into the station and into a cell. Right charge him with two counts of assault. I have to go back to Trog's. The mutt doesn't wait for an anwser and runs out the door. Back to Trog's.

Iames appears and puts the were-lizard guy into Cell 2 and lets out the random gnome. The he disappears.

Narfang returns, with reports from informants, and sits at his desk, filing them and peicing together information.

(Ahh...we all hated the NPC family anyway...you know you did!)

Markan comes awake groggily and almost falls back asleep before noting where he is. Then his eyes widen momentarily and he grins sheepishly, scratching the back of his head and yawning. "Huh. Anyone around remember what I did this time?"

EDIT: Markan begins poking around the cell, looking for a way to bypass the antimagic enough to use a projection.

Godric looks at Mark An officer brought you in for two counts assault.

"Yeah? Who'd I attack? And if this is a bar fight like I suspect, you guys seriously need to lighten up...How long do I have to stay here?"

[McBish]

I don't know but from the look of the officer that brought you in it looked like one of the assaults was against him. He rushed off without explaining much. Your in for 48 hours, unless someone drops the charges.

((Also there is bail but I'm not sure how that works. The mutt will probably stop by and drop his charges on you after he has been healed up.))
