So out of curiosity what are the best feats for an archer?

Thanks for input, Sam

It sort of depends on what type of archer you're making.

In general, either Ancestral Relic (BoED) or Item Familiar (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/magic/itemFamiliars.htm) for your (Elvencraft Composite) bow can guarantee you the needed weapon enchantments to optimize your damage. Woodland Archer (RotW) is always useful, or extremely necessary in the right situations. Knowledge Devotion (CC) provides some reliable bonuses if you have skill points to spare, just one rank in six skills guarantees a +1 out of it.

For a Swift Hunter, Greater Manyshot (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#greaterManyshot) and Swift Hunter are your most important feats.

For a Cleric Archer, Zen Archery and Divine Metamagic: Persistent are extremely necessary.

For a Fighter Archer, Ranged Weapon Mastery is the reason you went Fighter.

For a Soulbow (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060403a&page=2), the TWF chain is a huge advantage.

If you make an archer that's not one of the above four, you're going to feel fairly useless.

for skirmishing type archers improved multishot is a must.

after those convince your DM to allow the 3.0 PrC deepwood sniper and you take the first 3 lvls, then switch into peerless archer for 3 lvls then finish out with cragtop archer and your done
