View Full Version : So it turns out I'm a Cylon...

Ok, so thats a bit misleading.

I decided this at the beginning, and I'm not a Cylon, as I am not a robot (I think)
But, the idea is the same. Everytime my character dies, he (or she) returns to the same place, and is reborn, with all the old memories. There will be many copies of my character, and there are at least three different people who this affect is working with. Me, my characters sister, and their father.

So, what do you guys think? how should I involve this in the story, and where should I go with this?

Eventually I will find out for sure who or what I am, but until then, how do I explain this to the other characters?

Just looking for advice as to how to spin the story together, I already have specific personalities and characters written out.

Are you the DM? Are you a player that the DM is doing this to? Or are you just someone who thinks this would make a cool story?

Sorry that this is not clear.

My DM and I agreed upon this earlier after I made an offhand comment about something. They said it would be cool, and I was ok to roll with it

Or the child/heir/scion of a powerful spellcaster. They felt strongly enough to set this up for you.

You may enjoy a read through Dragon 354. This brought the Wedded to History feat to mind, and a few of the backgrounds presented in that issue can be fairly easily fluffed to meet your thoughts.

You are a warforged, everytime you are "killed" they take the gnome driver (your actual character) and put in a new warforged.

You could have a numbered tattoo on your body somewhere. Every time you die, the next character has a higher number. Part of your story could be discovering the origin of said clones. Maybe you were an experiment in immortality or an attempt at breeding an army?

Or maybe, just maybe, you are actually a Troubleshooter for friend Computer.

I am a huge fan of this idea. I may actually have to steal it for the next time I'm playing a new character.
