Can anyone stat up a coelacanth for me? For 3.5 addition. I wanna make a coelacanth hengeyokai but I need a base animal to work with, and I'm terrible with home brewing and I wondered if any of you amazing people on the forum could help me! Thanks in advance!

Its not an especially threatening fish. I suppose you'd have to see if there were any stats for similarly unthreatening fish in order to establish a baseline?

I'd probably just do a swimming lion. ie. take the lion's base attack bonuses and damage, and have it be aquatic.

Hmmmm. A coelacanth, you say?

:smalltongue:

Is there anything in particular you wanted the coelacanth to do? I'm not too familiar with hengeyokai, apart from the often-mentioned sparrow, so I'm not sure what the benefits would be.

Coelacanths are generally large, slow, deepwater fish, and very long-lived. Is that where you wanted to start from?

Yeah
Large, slow, deep water, long lived sounds about right!
Once I have the base animal stats it'll be pretty simple to make a hengeyokai based on it.

I'm not sure what attacks it'll have..I was thinking a bite. A weak bite...and I think they have a higher AC?

I'm not too familiar with coelacanths besides that they are cool, pretty colored fish that are elusive and live long.

Rename it and remove references to lizard and it's pretty close.
