Ok this may be a slightly dumb question, but lets say a weapon grants you immunity to fear, and another weapon grants you like immunity to death effects. Since you have both in your possession do you benefit from the effects even when you are just in possession of the weapon, or do you only benefit when wielding said weapon?

RAW-wise, it depends on the wording; some weapons specifically say "wielding", and some do not.

Do you have the exact wording?

If it says something like "as long as it's in your possession", or "grants the possessor...", then just need to possess it, not hold it. You can just have it in your bag. Luck Blades, for example, grant luck rerolls to the possessor, even if it's sheathed.

If it says "grants the wielder...", then you have to be wielding it to gain the effect.

However, note that you can wield an absurd number of weapons. Twenty two at least (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=288376) on a normal humanoid, far more on a multi-limbed creature with a bite attack.

It also depends on the specific property in some cases. Defending weapons specify that they only work at the start of the turn before using the weapon, meaning that they have to be used in some fashion at some point during the turn.
