Wrote a new article for Gama:

Not sure how good a job I did, but too tired to do better! I hope I get featured.
Does anyone here play Crawl? I dearly love the game, if you're a fan of Roguelikes you owe it to yourself to check it out.

The Webtiles version is particularly cool if you have a stable connection and want to play online.

Man, has it really been that long since Cogwheel threw himself down the stairs in his dungeon runs on here...

Paging Dr Cogwheel to this thread...
That evil swine got me hooked on roguelikes. Dungeons of Dredmor, FTL, Spelunky (sort of) and a whole bunch of others I can't recall.

Ooh, a Dungeon Crawl threa-
Dear god, people remember that trash? Why?
(Also no Mewtarthio did ADOM and it was much better.)
Anyway yes I should pick this up again. It's been a while and I could always stand to ascend a fourth time and/or die. Good taste, by the way. Octopodes or whatever they're called are second only to Felid berserkers in excellence.
Thanks for the thread, nice little reminder.
Edit: The wiki is 403ing me. Bother.

If you're using an old bookmark for the wiki, it changed structure recently. Here's the link from the DCSS main page. It works for me as of just now:

P.S. I loved your LP's, Cog, particularly the epic of Meepo.

Ugh, I beat this game only once, back when mountain dwarves existed and the beehive gave you effectively infinite food. You just reminded me that I have to beat this again, now that all my old tricks got nerfed. :(

Thank you, but it doesn't work. Judging by some other sites, it may be a Chaosforge problem.

Why thank you but it's a complete embarrassment and I would delete all traces of it given half a chance.
At any rate, I downloaded it again and decided to try a Felid Monk.

For a silly idea, there are worse ways to go down. Not pictures: All the orcs and centaurs I slaughtered before this point.
My build, it burns with the legitimacy of a thousand totally optimised suns.

+1 for Cogwheel's and Mewtarthio's Roguelike stuff getting me into Roguelikes.
I still play Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup off and on, but recently I've been playing some Tales of Maj'Eyal. Still haven't won either of them. ._.

Yes good. ToME is good times. Best times.
I should start a thread for that.

ToME seems like it has become vastly more popular recently, I think I'll look into it when I got the chance.
Just started a Tengu Air Elementalist, going to try the new summoning fixes.

We enjoyed watching you suffer. I also enjoyed your Avernum playthrough more than I enjoyed actually playing Avernum.

So bad that it got me interested in roguelikes as well back then and start GenCrawl. Shame on you. :smallwink:
