View Full Version : Lantan, Gondsmen, and Smokepowder; oh my! -OR- Fun In Faerun

Have myself and Gnome Eberron-style Artificer who is also a Lanatnese Techsmith with a Gondsman (Faiths and Pantheons 207).
Fun facts, Gondsman are proficient with whatever you hand them, and Techsmiths have access to Smokepowder firearms.

The current goal is to build the best non-epic, non-homebrew firearm we can. Money is no issue.
Any 3.0, 3.5, PF, Dragon, Dungeon material is fine.

Basically want the best darn gun we can build. Feel free to discuss the simple joys of exploding things or shooting them dead instead.
Just no Homebrew please as it wouldn't be useful to my efforts.

Question 1, what Wand would help shore up the general weakness of firearms?
Going to put it in a wand chamber in the gun.
Bonus points if it's 3rd lvl or lower so I can use an Eternal Wand for it.

I would say dispel magic for the wand.

As for the gun, I really can't say. AFAIK, you only have access to muskets and flintlock pistols, so there's not a ton you can do. Maybe make a custom flintlock gun that has many barrels? Like a double-barreled shotgun; each fires separately. Or just use a double-barreled flintlock in each hand, and have a few more ready via quick draw.

The problem there is enhancements/special abilities; you would be spending a fortune on each gun.

There are a host of other firearms of comparable ability in the Dragon magazine I listed as a firearms source. (Hilt Pistols are my new most favorite toy ever. Gunblades FTW! :smallbiggrin: )
And I thank you for the kind suggestion but I did mention that homebrew wouldn't be of any use to me. Sorry.
