Interesting Image File Names

Thought we might want to make an index of comics with interesting image file names, in light of seeing that 899 is krackkakkooooom899.gif.

So far I've checked back as far as 749, nothing yet. I've also checked the other two Gate explosions, and again nothing (Dorukan's Gate is just oots120.gif, and Soon's gate is gibberish).

I wonder if this is the first hidden file name joke, or if just incredibly infrequent.

How about "gte", "soon", "oots", "rft", and so on. We could make up a jillion words that would make us think "ooh, what a coincidence, eh?". And then think about all the strips that could have these words have some relevance.

I always assumed that this was to prevent using tools like DownThemAll to automatically rip every comic to your PC, which is very easily done if images are numbered in any sort of recognizable alphabetical or numerical pattern.

I just looked at the file name after someone posted it in the main thread, which got me wondering and looking back a little before making this thread. Inspect Element is a wonderful tool.

The only thing even remotely interesting in what I saw was the random string on 879 beginning with 'Heir'.

Obviously, nothing to look for, per Rich's comment.

I actually wrote a script to download the comics for offline use when I don't have Internet which records the filenames, titles, along with some other useless infomation, into a database.
