They cheer at Miko's gruesome death (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0464.html).

They cheer at Therkla's death (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0593.html).

They cheer at V's children being eaten alive and soul bound (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0629.html).

They cheer for genocide (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0639.html).

They cheer over brutal executions (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0707.html) motivated by speciesism.

They cheer when slaves are being burned alive (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0759.html).

They cheer when the Resistance is crushed (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0827.html).

They cheer after finding a whole family (including at least one child) dead (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0841.html).

They cheer after Durkon becomes a vampire (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0880.html).

They cheer when V's soul is taken (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0897.html) and when it is revealed that what they are doing is helping out archfiends.


Either they're the happiest people in the world or they're agents of Evil. Possibly both.

They must be pretty good actors. In the comic, they seem sad about some events. But on the bottom of the page, they are happy about it.

I suspected that for a long time. Everyone takes anti-depressants to deal with Elan. Even Elan.

Guys! I just realized something!

Not only do they cheer at all of these horrid situations, they are also shouting "Thanks, everyone!"

Does this mean that those four think we're to blame for the bad stuff (and I guess the good stuff) in the comic?

Well, we've already established that they're doing some serious drugs, so I wouldn't take anything they say too seriously.

In that case, perhaps they're not actually evil, but are hallucinating that something good is happening in every strip. After all, they thank us regardless of whether what's going on in the comic is Good, Evil, Lawful, Chaotic, or Neutral.

I would further hypothesize that the reason they are thanking us is because it is our kickstarter money that they are using to purchase their drugs.

The answer is simple.

The OOTS and all the NPC's are actors. It's all a staged experiment to teach V, Miko and Belkar (the only 3 who think all this is real) a lesson of some sort.
