So, I see a lot of these 'favourite xyz' threads out there, and seeing as I shall likely be playing a war weaver in an upcoming game I thought this one would serve a dual purpose.

So, what is everyone's favourite buff spell?

Mine is either Fly, Bear's Endurance, or Fist of Stone

Because who doesn't love flying, more HP+better save, and +6 strength from a lvl 1 spell?

Divine favor, divine power, righteous might, righteous wrath of the faithful. Can you tell I like clerical buffs? Lol

Mental Pinnacle, probably. It's a buff spell that means you don't have to burn any more spells for the rest of the encounter, plus the abilities you get include a daze effect, a multitarget stunning attack, and a save-or-die.

Greater Mighty Wallop has currently made me never want to stray from Minotaur Greathammers on ever character I play.

I'm a big fan of Trollshape myself.

Some less common ones I like are Friendly Fire, Primal Instinct, Sheltered Vitality, and Favor of the Martyr.

Heart of water is one of my favorite spells, even if you're choosing out of all spells in existence. It's not the most powerful, but it has a ton of value. Freedom of movement, of a lower slot, and with an arguably more powerful duration, is just too good to pass up on.

Blessing of Fervor (Pathfinder) - THE clerical spell to take and know as an oracle. Everyone in the party will love you.

Bless - I've long since lost count how often party members hit the bad guys only because I cast Bless. Every +1 matters.

Bull's Strength - Staple warrior buff.

Protection From Evil when I care about saving throws, Shield of Faith when I care more about AC.

Things like Tenser's Transformation are just hilarious. "Oh, you're a Fighter, so you can take on a poor little spellcaster like me? Not a problem."

Although Divine Power is slightly better because you can still cast spells in emergencies.

I'd have thought you'd like Mass Haste :smallwink:

These are all great. I forgot about all the higher level buffs

Yah, the Heart of ______ line is really good

Glibness (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/glibness.htm), Polymorph (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/polymorph.htm), Displacement (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/displacement.htm), Glove of Invulnerability (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/globeOfInvulnerability.htm) and Anti-magic field (Only on a level dip in Archmage) (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/antimagicField.htm).

I'd rather not have to fight through encounters and would rather avoid them entirely. :smallwink:

Haste — more speed, AC, and an extra attack.

I forgot my other favorite buff spell that I always bring up. It's primal instinct from dragon magic. Among other minor effects, it gives a +5 to initiative, and unlike nerveskitter, it gives that for 24 hours. I probably wouldn't take it on a sorcerer, because it's not remotely spammable, but it's perfect on a druid who wants to pump initiative.
