dragonfire adept or dragon shaman which is better. also someone i know says that a gestalt of these would be decent, is this true?

I have never played a dragon fire adept or a dragon shaman, but have been in a party with both. I would say that the dragon fire adept is the better choice, as the dragon shaman is strictly along the line of buffing, and their are other classes that do the job better. A gestalt might be decent, as you could buff yourself with the shaman's aura while using the abilities of the adept.

Solidly dragonfire adept. Dragon shaman is just a generally boring class that scales poorly (you would think that a dragon class would scale well). Aura based classes are basically just "Turn me on and take a nap: the game." Dragonfire adepts actually have abilities, and those abilities are interesting and active in nature. Also, entangling exhalation is cool.
