I'm trying to help a friend with his Ranger(or Hunter, not sure which it is). He he's looking for ways to counter/reduce the effects of blindness and the various forms of concealment.

Does anyone know good feats/items/paragon paths that do these things?

Well, the first thing that springs to mind would be some sort of extraordinary sense, like tremorsense or blindsight.

Both are attainable, but the real question is how often are you looking to use them? Tremorsense is pretty rare in general, so let's take a quick look at "permanent" ways of getting blindsight without dipping into epic material, and something that - even if it's a daily power - need not end at the end of the encounter:

Items:
Unguent of Blindsight (AV192) is a consumable that gives blindsight till the end of the encounter. At 9k a pop tho, it won't come cheap (at least, not until epic levels), but it's a good solution that works regardless of any other choices the character wishes to make.
Powered Armor (D410) is plate armour (10+) offers limited blindsight and tremorsense to a range equal to the armour's enchantment bonus. Expensive, but gets the job done.

Feats:
Thri-Kreen Antennae: only one here! And only gives blindsight 1. And requires you to be a Thri-Kreen of course.

Themes:
Deep Delver (Into the Unknown): you gain Blindsight 2 as your level 10 theme bonus.

Paragon Paths:
Impure Scion (Psionic Power): you get blindsight 5 whenever you're blinded, so wrap a scarf around your eyes and you're set!
Darkstrider (MP2): meet the "be a ranger and have dungeoneering trained" and once you hit level 16, you'll get Blindsight = to Wis mod + 2.

The Extreme Way:
Faceless Hate (BoVD): get this disease, and let it progress to stage 3! You'll get blindsight 5 with only a few minor "drawbacks", such as an alignment change, the preception that everyone's an enemy, and attacking anyone that comes within 5 squares of you. But blindsight 5!

Does that help?

Simply take one area burst, close burst, or close blast power and you don't have to worry about it.

Yeah, that. Concealment doesn't give big enough penalties to worry about, and blindness should be relatively rare.

I believe you can get an encounter power to ignore all concealment until the end of your the next turn, that should be sufficient in most cases.
