I am working on a campaign setting. I want to have a class that allows characters to have a bond with their weapons. The weapons would boost the character in some form, much like He-Man and Thunder Cats. Is a class the right way to go? I had thought maybe magic weapons, but I want them to be common. Thoughts?

Check out the Bladebound archetype for the Magus from Pathfinder:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/magus/archetypes/paizo---magus-archetypes/bladebound
In the description it says it can only be a slashing weapon, but you can easily say it could be any type of one-handed weapon. You can also go with the standard Magus class.

Then there's the Arcane Dualist archetype for bard:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/bard/archetypes/paizo---bard-archetypes/arcane-duelist

And of course the Paladin with who has to option to bond with his weapon.

To my knowledge the last two work for two-handed weapons as well, but they do not receive the power to bond until level 5.

If you use all these, then there are still some interesting choices for the players.

Thank you. I think these will help. I really want the weapon to be used like a barbarian's rage, but you know, different.

You could just go down the spell list looking for buffs. Enlarge person, divine favor, bull's strength, and haste all work fine.

The Giant made a class like this. Scroll down a bit to find it.

I played it once, it was fun. My grandfather was complaining and stuff all the time, it was great.
