Hey playground, I'm just trying to make sure I have all the information on invocations. As far as I'm aware, they're only found in Complete Arcana, Complete Mage, Dragon Magic and Cityscape; are there any others in other books?

Dotu - drow of the underdark, has some.

Magic of Incarnum has 4 new invocations. While they all interact with incarnum/essentia, only one of them is a strictly incarnum-based effect.

Those two- Drow of the Underdark and Magic of Incarnum- are the only two you were missing, by the way, excluding any third party books or homebrew stuff. For future reference, you can find them all by use of the invocation index. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/invocations)

There's also the Infernal Adept (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frcc/20070613) feat, which grants you access to most of the DFA invocations. That free identify Least is pretty sweet.

My word... How are Warlocks meant to choose so few invocations, they're all so incredible...

Take 2 levels of Chameleon, use your floating feat on Extra Invocation depending on what seems important for the day. Helps a bit.

Unfortunately the feat requires that you select an invocation two grades lower than your highest grade, which is just completely awful. You're generally better off taking Extra Invocation instead.

Indeed, pretty much the only reason this feat matters is for Chameleon, and even then... my guess is you're going to use your floating feat for better purposes.

Kinda disappointing, really. :smallfrown:

Also, if you're allowed homebrew there is plenty (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14851032&postcount=2) out (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=12213065&postcount=3) there (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13321110&postcount=166). I think AmberVael is being modest and not mentioning the great ones that she has made.

Shopping for warlock/DFA homebrew invocations is swiftly moving up my list of stuff to do. I'll be sure to check with some of these links.

How ironic: about 18 months ago, I was convinced warlocks were way too powerful. Now I realize that unlimited ranged touch damage is actually pretty tame. *shakes fist at optimized tier 1 casters moving the bar while I wasn't looking*
