Seven is far too early, and you know it. :smalltongue:

Er... Hrm... My wardrobe mostly consists of four colours, so... >.>

Yeah, but I'd like to get up at that time. That way I won't start thinking of myself as some kind of layabout.

One only needs four colours after all. White, black, grey and blue are more than enough. Though I have more green than grey... I must remedy this situation.

In semi-related news: I have listened to your album and must say that I really like the acoustic piece. It's quite relaxing, but not completely calm either. So, relaxing but with a bit of energy?
Makes me feel bad for never learning to play guitar though. Now you've made me want to buy one and take it up again... The world conspires to force me to have more hobbies! And for some reason it reminds me of either Dwarf Fortress or Diablo... Not sure why.

According to Wikipedia, the oldest recorded version is still nearly identical to the contemporary one. At least in the final line...

Yeah, that's the beauty of it. To take another example, a slightly tweaked version of the 'Æ' is a chest or a backpack, seen diagonally from the side with the upper half being the lid.

And yeah, I thought about that too, except you usually don't coat cheese wedges in wax, but rather the whole wheel...

Well, the last line kind of works from the English perspective if one remembers that it is a song as well, and not every sound is of the same length. Had I some sort of convenient score writing software available, I'd write it down and show you what I mean. But alas, I do not. Note to self; Acquire such software...

That ones a bit more difficult to see, but I can kind of.

A wedge cut from such cheese retain the wax coating on the outer edge until it is removed. I would say it was a choice to avoid using colours that are harder to differentiate, but that game uses cyan, yellow and numerous shades of a lot of colours.
Though admittedly... Some kinds of cheese are reddish...

Easy. Turn that non-existent money of yours into real money. Can't be that hard.

I value imagination and how we people use it, and the thing with the ASCII is that I can use my imagination nearly to the fullest extent. It also lets me focus more on the technical side of the game, which in my opinion is amazing.

Oh! This just means that I have to give you a massage!

If that were easy, I'd be visiting you all in my zeppelin such that we may listen to Liszt on an antique gramophone and talk of many things, of shoes and ships and sealing wax, and cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings.
Truly, Lewis Carroll is among the greatest people ever.

Imagination is indeed important in all things. For instance, I do so often try to envision what my SimCities would look like if one could look at their skyline rather than the game's isometric perspective.

I'm not sure whether or not a massage would have any effect. I've always found attack to sooth rebellious muscles. Or if not sooth, force them to recognise my sovereignty as the one in charge of most of the electric impulses.

Now, as part of my plan to teach my sleep schedules who is supreme overlord and master, I'm going to go upstairs and read before bed.
Goodnight everyone! Remember, in the event of an unscheduled apocalypse, exits are located to your left and behind you to the right.

Hmm... If you still want to teach, you could try to get the qualifications to teach another subject... That way you'd manage to get into the education system and possibly move into the arts. But I don't know if that would work particularly well.

Well, there's two problems with that -

1. I'd have to go back to school and go through another program to do so. I'm certified K -12 for Art, which is different from most subjects where you'd get certified for a smaller range of age. I'm crushed under the debt of my first bout of college, so I can't really afford to do that again. Even in small increments, I just don't get in enough money to be able to afford ANY classes. Even if it was just one a semester.

2. Even if I did get a further certification, I know many who have tried that route to get "in" and have never escaped that role to go on to teach their intended subject. Art is a program that continually is getting cut, so its a mindset thing for schools. Which makes me go: Art is such a fundimental! Why is this happening!?

It's a similar joy to reading books, I think; I like to read the forms, then fill it out with style. (By "style," I mean add lots of exclamation marks.)

Example:

Name: TaiLiu!?
Age: Twenty-three?
Occupation: Socially unacceptable!!

I admit, I laughed pretty hard reading this.

Perhaps. I read for knowledge, and pleasure. You?

General curiosity, really. Hm. My enjoyment for filling out forms is similar to my dislike of music, it seems, in that people find both irrational.

Like...all music? Like you'd prefer a movie to not have music rather than have a score? Or rather, most genres don't appeal to you? Or just a straight - music bad. Silence - good.

Word. Instant coffee is a travesty. In fact, I'd advise everyone to develop their own coffee ritual, simply to enjoy the experience more. Coffee-drinking should be me-time.
*shudders*
No worries. I refuse to drink instant coffee. I will relent and force myself to take coffee time seriously. I suppose I don't really need to melt all the tastebuds off my tongue anyway...

Oh, believe me, if you visit the masseur I went to, you'd feel very attacked. I basically have rock solid shoulders that need some serious whacking (thanks to doctors neglecting the issue for ages), gentle rubs can't do a thing. I also enjoy lying down on an acupressure spike mat, but they're honestly just for temporary, immediate relief - nothing that can fix things for as long as a massage does. I get a massage every 4 to 6 weeks and it's coolbeans.

Have a good night!

And we all know what this means.
Time for Amidus to fill out more forms! WOOHOO!

Lucifer is a damn bureaucrat. I've had enough of this "fill out stuff" nonsense; they should have all of my information already, from all the other forms I've filled out. *explodes*

Screw it, I'll do all that crap after I get up. Too much trouble to do it now.

Seven? I like to get up around a quarter past six.

Easy. Turn that non-existent money of yours into real money. Can't be that hard.

I love to use them too... or, would love to, if they were as good as my old headphones... *narrows eyes*

And so say all the people that haven't experienced the awesomeness of a nightless night. :smallcool:

Why did I even attempt to expect anything further from you?

You'd be surprised. :smallamused: I've been trying for a while, admittedly sometimes half-heartedly.

My old headphones are held together by masking tape, and the cord has a short in it, so... I mean, they're still really good headphones, but... they'd be easily surpassed by a good new pair.

Oh, like I'd know the difference. I'd have to go outside for that. :smalltongue:

I like it being closeish to midday when I get up. 8 is as early as I like to get up, 9 is the normal time, 10 is when I want to sleep in, and 11 is if I accidentally turn the alarm off. Like today, for example.

True, I suppose. I've got a handful of dark green shirts that I like, though. :smalltongue:

*bows, perhaps akin to a cello* I could teach you how to play it, if you wanted... granted, that'd be easier to do if you already knew how to play guitar... it's fairly simple.

EDIT: Ah hey Kneenibble! You sorta messaged while I was writing. ^^ Yep I know of them, though my knowledge of birds is lacking. *laughs* No nibbling I'm too ticklish! *flees*

Just as FinnLassie will scribble on your face, or poke you with long slender objects such as beech branches, becs-de-corbin, baguettes, or paint brushes -- so too I will nibble you about the ears and the eyebrows. It is simply what is done. *divebombs and nibbles*

KNEEBS!

I am still waiting for you to fly in the window! ;_;

;___; I got lost on the way, and had to turn back. I'm so sorry. This world is a dangerous place for such a little fluffster as I.

I sent your, my, and Teddy's drawings from the other day to my sister last night, who also loves budgies. I am still awaiting her squee.

I just really, really dislike wine. Bleuch. I need to rinse that taste off with a good pale ale. :smallyuk:

Oh, wonderful! Delightful! Exquisite!
*falls in trance gnaws carrots* Mmh... would go well with a bit of teddy bear...

That's okay! More for me. :smallcool: I don't claim to understand not liking wine, but I can respect it.

Excellent... she took the bait. *takes advantage of the carrot trance to tangle up a big fluffy nest in FinnLassie's golden hair*

Gasp! AUGH BOOZE, and SUPER GASP WHAT?:smalleek::smalltongue:

Draw Your Friends! In the Arts & Crafts area. Well, "Draw" can be any arts. It's quite an enjoyable exchange. Mr. August even composed some music for me the time before last.

I wanna play Dwarf Fortress...:smallfrown: (Also:Those other things.:smalltongue:)
*swills and drinks all the wine*

That is not the giggle I imagine of Knee lying on his bed with the window open. It IS madhouse worthy, though.:smallamused:

Rather than "my girlfriend says things", I say YAY CARROTS. *looks at them*

Dwarf Fortress is free! You could play it right now! You could become thick and giddy with wine, and be forging platinum statues before a teatime of bacon-wrapped water chestnuts and cheese cubes and fresh figs and hot roasted almonds and purple carrots!

Tee hee hee. :smallwink:

While I am appreciative to Devmartian's girlfriend for her sentiment, I am appreciative to you as well for yours. KEEP LOOOOOOOOKING *waits for the carrot trance to set in, for reasons*

I am the bass-man, except in the acoustic-only song, where I play the guitfiddle, aye. I sing some, yes. Rafiki does also, and both Robin and Logan sang briefly.

*bows, perhaps akin to a viola* Thank you, sir. :smallcool:

Ooh, cool. Interesting colours... what variety are they? Do they taste different than the normal orange ones?

In Hyser? Wow, beautiful playing.

They don't taste wildly different, but slightly. The yellow ones, Yellowstone, have less earthy and more clear taste. The purple ones, Cosmic Purple, are actually not a true purple carrot -- only the outer skin is red, the insides are orange. They are a really nice carrot but they taste just like any other good orange carrot. Then the orange ones are either Scarlet Nantes or Yaya -- I forget which seeds I actually planted.

I couldn't get seeds for true purple carrots this year, but I'm going to try next year. Also white carrots. And one day I hope to grow the red carrots of Punjab. All the carrots.

Gameplay mechanics and Fun come first. Graphics come second. Okay, but as a composer aiming to get involved with game soundtracks, I do think DF is lacking on the sound front.

The little music it has is the perfect mood for me, but it drives me completely crazy to listen to it for the hours that a good DF session takes. Do you have any particular idea what music to make for it?

I would want a very mellow brass quartet, I think, without other instruments.

They're more colour than my entire wardrobe! Green, red, orange and yellow? Four whole colours?! I jest, but not by much. I just like sedate colours too much.

Well nobody is asking you to wear the carrots, mi Elementalis. Although I could give you one to tie on your belt -- that is coming back into fashion.

But that aside, I am very impressed by your harvest. Our every attempt to grow carrots fails miserably despite the apparent vitality of the plants in question. And Mum keeps serving frozen carrots, which are of course entirely lacking in quality. I do understand that she doesn't have the time or energy to prepare carrots on every occasion, but it is depressing when I find one of the few vegetables I actually enjoy to be too disgusting to eat. Maybe I should just prepare my own salads and things...
Anyway... Carrots should ideally be served raw in my mind.

Frozen vegetables. I'm not sure that should be a thing. With commercial-grade carrots, they are not always good for eating raw: but when you pull a tender, crunchy, candy-sweet carrot out of the garden, it seems silly to think about cooking it. Even knowing that it makes its nutrients hugely more digestible.

Can you tell me what happens to your carrots when you try to grow them? I know you've told me before -- was it that the foliage grows fine, but no root develops? I might be able to advise you. What kind of soil do you have over there?

Oh my, how grand. I hope it was most flavourful.

Word. Instant coffee is a travesty. In fact, I'd advise everyone to develop their own coffee ritual, simply to enjoy the experience more. Coffee-drinking should be me-time.

It was indeed. It was a lovely rich Pinotage with dark red fruit and honey flavours. I've never been disappointed by a South African wine.

Yes! That ritual and that stopping-to-think moment is what turns the caffeine buzz into a sublime bliss. A quick cup slurped down in a rush will stimulate, but it will not transcend.

I value imagination and how we people use it, and the thing with the ASCII is that I can use my imagination nearly to the fullest extent. It also lets me focus more on the technical side of the game, which in my opinion is amazing.

Yes, to add to this discussion, I am astounded at the way the imagination works after getting absorbed into a good Dwarf Fortress session. I start to see detail that isn't there, and hear sounds -- the roar of the waterfall I built in my dining room and the mist-wet beards of the dwarves who stand nearby to admire it. That is why I don't use a texture pack: because the poverty of the graphics, combined with the game's bogglingly intricate mechanics, works such a freaky magic on the mind.

The creator is a mad genius.

So it turns out Andre is also not a morning person. :smalltongue:

Strictly speaking, Umami Daikon, ginger is a rhizome, not a root. But you're right -- the competition is fierce for best nibbling root. I cannot give you sassafras or ginger, to my shame, but should you visit these northron estates I can provide you with radishes, potatoes, and carrots all in abundance.

Some where, yes. T Rex babies had downy feathers, though they became the big ole scaley scales that we know and love. Basically all raptors where feathered, though, throughout their whole life.

By George, next you'll tell me that velociraptors liked to sit in laps and purr.

Oooooooh, I can't wait to see Andre get all soft and feathery! Look at all those pin feathers that are going to turn to fluff!

Do you have pictures of the parents? I love cardinals.

You must have missed the ones I already posted! :smalleek:

Here they are!

Baby cardinal update!

He's grown and fluffed up a bit, and we've named him Andre (or Andrea, if he turns out to be a she. Given my caterpillar-raising experience, I've learned to go with names that are easily gender-converted)
Anyway, here's the most recent picture of him, and one of his parents:

My old headphones are held together by masking tape, and the cord has a short in it, so... I mean, they're still really good headphones, but... they'd be easily surpassed by a good new pair.

Oh, like I'd know the difference. I'd have to go outside for that. :smalltongue:

I sent your, my, and Teddy's drawings from the other day to my sister last night, who also loves budgies. I am still awaiting her squee.

That's okay! More for me. :smallcool: I don't claim to understand not liking wine, but I can respect it.

Excellent... she took the bait. *takes advantage of the carrot trance to tangle up a big fluffy nest in FinnLassie's golden hair*

Oh my! I hope you got back home fine! Sigh... *before closing the window, she gazes to the sky with a single tear in her eye*

Hehehe. I hope she finds them delightful.

Here I am, imagining you in pure shock, wee feathers trembling... "What? Some do not enjoy the wonders of wine? I... This is a feeling I cannot comprehend... But... I must accept people with different likings from mine! O, woe is me, having to stand such complex people!"

Oh, Kneebs! Do you think I would actually mind, you messing up my hair? <3

Strictly speaking, Umami Daikon, ginger is a rhizome, not a root. But you're right -- the competition is fierce for best nibbling root. I would take the yieldingly explosively sweet crunch of a frost-nipped carrot picked in September over any of those, however, any day. I cannot give you sassafras or ginger, to my shame, but should you visit these northron estates I can provide you with radishes, potatoes, and carrots all in abundance.

Heheheheheh, have fun with that. :smallamused:

A wedge cut from such cheese retain the wax coating on the outer edge until it is removed. I would say it was a choice to avoid using colours that are harder to differentiate, but that game uses cyan, yellow and numerous shades of a lot of colours.
Though admittedly... Some kinds of cheese are reddish...

Yeah, but the outer edge don't quite motivate it in this case...

I value imagination and how we people use it, and the thing with the ASCII is that I can use my imagination nearly to the fullest extent. It also lets me focus more on the technical side of the game, which in my opinion is amazing.

This too. Getting to build up the scenes yourself in your mind is the greatest pleasure. I mean, the combat wouldn't be nearly as delightfully gruesome if you actually got to see all the swings rather than just read about them...

If that were easy, I'd be visiting you all in my zeppelin such that we may listen to Liszt on an antique gramophone and talk of many things, of shoes and ships and sealing wax, and cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings.

Saying you don't like the taste of wine, is almost like saying you don't like the taste of food. There are many, many different kinds of wine, from the very sweet to the very dry, highly sparkling, lightly sparkling, non sparkling, without additional flavours, with special flavours including fruity, honey, and other flavours, alcoholic and de-alcoholised (as well as non-alcoholic imitations), your traditional wines and fortified wines (such as port, sherry, vermouth, etc.), and more. Additionally, there are many wine-like products that sometimes go by the name of wine, such as mead (honey wine), sake (rice wine), plum wine, etc.

I'm not going to try to force you to try the many different types until you find one you like, but to say you dislike the taste of wine is a little too broad and sweeping...

So, question:
Earlier this week my power pack quite literally started sparking and nearly set a bed coverlet on fire. Naturally I ripped the damn thing out and chucked it. However, when this happened my battery was at some eight percent, and during the frenzy that followed (including getting a bollocking for nearly setting fire to a bed) my battery ran out completely.
I managed to find a (read: stole my brother's) power pack charger thing for a quick stand-in until my new one came earlier today.
And about four hours ago I received an alert from my laptop informing me my battery could no longer hold a proper charge. And as the warranty was only for a year, I get to buy a new one.
Is this normal? For a battery to stop holding a charge after about eighteen months and only going to zero percent once?
Currently running off battery to see my new battery life, and I've lost six percent in two minutes. Doesn't seem that bad really.

Do you leave the battery in when running the laptop from an outlet? It's not times empty that matter, it's amount of charging. If you run it off wall power a lot and leave the battery in, that really kills it. I usually run mine off the wall with the battery out when I can.

Usually it's off the plug, minus the battery or running completely off battery. I'd hazard a guess that aside from charging the battery it's only plugged-in-with-battery two or three hours a week.

Um. How much time has it recharged? Any charging matters, it's just that plugged-in-with-battery is the least intuitive and it's constantly charging while it runs.

RE: Laptop battery - It depends on the type of battery as to whether or not you're supposed to let it charge. Lithium-ion ones you shouldn't let go dead - Nickel-cadmium ones you have to let die every once in a while.

I thought that would be the case. Like so many plans that initially sound plausible, it gets bogged down in the details.
I suppose there's really nothing for it but to volunteer with something, but that has its own problems.

Because governments are annoying and can't seem to properly fund anything. And when it comes to education, they'd look pretty stupid if they cut reading, writing and arithmetic.

The difficulty in that case would be setting aside money to get a massage. Alas, it is hard to justify the expenditure when one is unemployed and there are so many nice things I want.
That and I'm very shy and uncertain of the entire idea.

I almost did. Stayed up too long reading Alice in Wonderland, but not too long. And for some reason, I couldn't force myself to stay out of bed this morning. But I feel rested now, so that's good I suppose.

So it turns out Andre is also not a morning person. :smalltongue:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/1010403_10201857278576492_388642513_n.jpg

The process of gaining feathers (fledging?) looks very painful. That and it makes the birds in question look really creepy.

Eh... I feel ill and tired when I get up, and because electricity continues to be expensive, I've decided that I may as well get up early so I have a long supply of daylight such that a smaller percentage is wasted on feeling terrible due to just having awoken.

I must admit that I do like green. Actually, I'm wearing it right now. Well... It's a green pattern on a white background, but that's not the point!

I did learn a little about seven years ago in grade eight. Still, learning the guitar for a month or two hardly counts as anything at all, so I've probably forgotten the lot

Well nobody is asking you to wear the carrots, mi Elementalis. Although I could give you one to tie on your belt -- that is coming back into fashion.

It wouldn't work alas... I am against the wearing of orange without good reason.

Sadly, it is a thing. I cannot recall a vegetable that was improved by being frozen, and so many are made terrible by having done so. But there are those that retain some measure of quality, though I much prefer canned or fresh.

Well, they're not bad cooked, I just prefer them with that crunch they have. It is truly wondrous.

Indeed. The leaves are lush and verdant, but the roots merely grown one or two inches, content to not develop in the conditions of our garden. I fear it may be a combination of our mild Winters and long growing season. After all, why develop a store of food when one doesn't need it? Though the odd thing is we can grow other root vegetables with ease, so it may indeed be the soil.
I'm not certain what kind it is, but it manages to grow quite a number of plants with ease.

Truly, I couldn't agree with you more. Though I am bound by honour to point out that I failed to proper enclose the quotes in my previous post, and though it does say you are quoting me, you are in fact quoting FinnLassie, whose thoughts on this matter are much more articulate than mine.
I really need to play that game more often though. But alas, my computer objects to certain elements of it and it still boggles my mind too much at this stage for me to get properly absorbed in its inner workings. That, and a pool of water is blocking my plans for a grand hall to act as thoroughfare to quarters in the Northern section of the fortress.

It is a mystery for sure then.

Again, I must point out how that was said by FinnLassie, not myself. I promise I will fix the broken quote with all due haste. Just give me a little time.
And this reminds me, I need to look up quartzite so I can imagine what the dark halls look like when illuminated by the flickering light of candles and torches.

That sounds wonderful beyond comprehension. It is one thing to visit friends, but to travel with them would be truly wonderful. Though we would still have to factor in flight zones and the like.

Where's she going that she could possibly go through one hundred dollars of spending money? I could probably go to the Ekka on a few days and still have change! The trick is not buying show bags. They're overrated anyway.

Interesting... I suppose I've got to look up "memory effect" now...

Heh. I don't post much on these sorts of threads, mainly because I trip over my words and my posts become an incoherent mass of commas and third grade sentence structure.

But hey, might as well give it a try. :smalltongue:

Yeah, that tends to be the appropriate reaction to Zodi's sister's actions. :smallamused:

I must admit that I do like green. Actually, I'm wearing it right now. Well... It's a green pattern on a white background, but that's not the point!

I did learn a little about seven years ago in grade eight. Still, learning the guitar for a month or two hardly counts as anything at all, so I've probably forgotten the lot.

*nods* Green is a noble colour.

Ah, well, then. I suppose we'll just have to teach you again, then. :smalltongue:

Indeed. But if anything, I need more purple in my wardrobe, and ties hardly count as they're supposed to have colours beyond the range of the rest of one's clothes.

I need a guitar first. But I should be able to get one with ease as there is a music store within walking distance and I'd easily be able to get my Mum to drive me anyway so walking distance doesn't matter.

My best friend doesn't like wine because it all tastes and smells like alcohol to him. So he drinks vodka instead.

So, he doesn't drink something that has considerable non-alcoholic flavour and an alcohol content that is sometimes as low as 7% (or lower, in some cases, not to mention de-alcoholised wine) and sometimes as high as around 13% in the stronger varieties because he can taste the alcohol, and drinks something that is 40+% alcohol with water added instead? Makes sense. Though, why he doesn't just drink rectified spirit (over 95% alcohol by volume) instead, I'll never know...

And I have to say that comparing the taste of fine to the taste of food is far too wide of a concept. I would say, it's more like, saying I don't like wine would be saying I don't like the food from a specific culture/area.

I've tried various types of wine, trying to find anything that I like, but there isn't any, really. I don't get why I should even like wine and why people seem to have the need to prove me it is good, it is not a necessity in anyone's life, nor is any type of alcohol.

Again, I must point out how that was said by FinnLassie, not myself. I promise I will fix the broken quote with all due haste. Just give me a little time.
And this reminds me, I need to look up quartzite so I can imagine what the dark halls look like when illuminated by the flickering light of candles and torches.

Ahh, I was a bit confused about you two saying the same thing, and I did actually remember the errant closing tag, but I missed to link the two together. Sorry, Finn!

And quartzite is a pretty okay rock. Pure quartz is prettier, with a milky semi-transparency sometimes turning toward clear rock crystal, and while there often are many thin veins of quartz interspersed in the quartzite, the rest of it is mostly just uniformly whitish grey with the slightest sparkle to it...

That sounds wonderful beyond comprehension. It is one thing to visit friends, but to travel with them would be truly wonderful. Though we would still have to factor in flight zones and the like.

Nah, zeppelins are low altitude vessels. For as long as you stay away from the airports, you shouldn't have to worry.

Indeed it is, untarnished but also blending, fit for someone who wants to leave no footprint of harm in his wake.

Well, I must admit that I've found the intensity of vodka to have the ability to (at least sometimes) shock your taste buds into not tasting the alcohol, while many wines seem to amplify it instead...

That is still far too specific, wine is available from many different cultures and has incredibly varied tastes and styles. There are so many different kinds, and they are so incredibly different.

Eh, I'm not trying to prove to you that it is good, only saying that you can't really say that you don't like the taste of wine, only that you don't like the taste of what you've tried, because there are so many different tastes.

It was written as such. And yes, though when you posted it was only eight in the evening, but I was playing Space Empires V and that murders time so it is now eleven.

No worries. All that matters is that this misunderstanding has been explained.

Huh... My image search showed it to be highly variable and rather pretty. While it is not as sparkly as quartz, being a rock and not a crystalline mineral, it would likely be a more practical material for construction as, to my understanding, crystals are inherently fragile.
As always, one must examine the stone and decide which would be best for facing and which for structural sections no one will ever see. They did it with Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal, the Pyramids of Giza and just about everything else ever built.

While that is likely the case throughout the vast majority of the Earth, I am certain that are restrictions in regard to cities, towns, industry and mountains.

Yeah, I'm mostly working from what I've seen around here. After all, there are next to no types of stone which aren't highly variable depending on where you are in the world...

Hmm, I've seen a fair number of ultra-light planes flying at low altitude over our house, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen any flying over the town centre (but then again, I usually don't hang around in the centre, so I may just have been unlucky)...

Ah, the fabled "allowances." How exactly do they work?

OH NO

*shrug* In our family, me and my other sister (this was introduced when me and her became teenagers) got 50 euros per month (later 70 as the cost of things had gone up a lot). With that we had to cover movie tickets, 90% of our clothes, CDs, DVDs, any extra transportation the folk didn't agree to... Hmrmmm.. Something along those lines.

I KNOW.
Tastes good though. Eyes just don't agree with the wonderful taste.

Bah, you're living in Scotland, it's a fair assumption. :smalltongue:

Strictly speaking, no.

My life has a new, odd aspect to it.

I have been here but not wanted to talk much. Just talk to me and lean on my shoulder if you need one. I am sorting the things from this morning's garage sales. I could buy a small bag of craft toys for 50 cents and I got five. It's work you don't need to think about.

I hadn't before. Now I can't not see it.

By the way, been working on some pixel art, trying out a new style.

What do you guys think? :smallcool:

Made this one for the Avatar Fight.

You are right. Wide feet and a triangle body over all make it look like Megaman style to me and I have not even played those games. It's good work!

What's a good way to glue clear plastic sheets and not have the glue show? This bag had printed plastic shapes in it that would be good if they were stickers. They're just extra and it's OK if it is not possible. I bought this bag for the plastic sheets and the safety pins. Those will make cheap but fancy tags for the next blazer. Stickers would be extra.

Someone has already stuck stormtrooper head erasers on to all of the heads of the cross walk signs around here. I didn't do it. It's funny though.

To clarify things. I'm not saying that the image is like Megaman. I'm saying that the way it's put together, if I took Megaman and put him ontop of it, or it ontop of him, they'd overlap perfectly. Which is actually quite a good job for something made from the ground up.

Most of the time they are. It's good to talk with the person about why they are making their life simpler or what is the new hobby that took the place of these supplies or where they are moving to or how the kids have grown up tall and grown out of those toys. Sometimes they are sad though. Bank sales are sad and so are estate sales from someone who has died. There was an estate sale today for someone like us.

Alas, the stone available in any particular area is likely to be very limited. Though it does give a unifying touch to a city or town, particularly in the case of older buildings when the importing of stone was exceedingly expensive.

I suppose it depends on the kind of aircraft in question.

Dooooo ittttttt

I will do so then. First I need to check my finances to see how much I can put towards the purchasing of a guitar. I'd likely purchase a cheaper one due to the combination of being cheap and not willing to spend vast sums on something I'm not good at until I'm good enough to warrant such an expenditure.

Well, it's the UK, everything seems to have a student discount here. To be fair not all massage places have student discounts, and even the one I go to has a very non-existent discount... It's less money nevertheless. :smalltongue:

And now that I'm back home, is it time for you to be in bed? I would think so, heh, it must be the early hours in Australia.

One would be lucky to get a student discount at the cinemas these days... Of course, I can't get one anyway because I'm not a student. Though I do have a concession card that gets me cheaper public transport...

When you posted it was ten to two in the morning... So yes. At this moment, it is seven thirty-five in the evening. Brisbane is about ten hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time if I recall correctly...

This is a wonderful story, incorporate it into your game. A dragon which sprung from a figurine when it's crafter died, forever carrying his souls across the skies...

Well, it kind of requires a town where wood wasn't an abundant building material as well, or only the rich homes will have used stone (which they very well may've imported), and such towns aren't especially common around here, with Visby being the only clear exception...

Ahh, right, daylight saving time explains a few things...

I don't remember, but I think GMT actually includes daylight saving time as well, as compared to UTC which never does... Either way, GMT can be a bit confusing, while UTC never is...

No, GMT and UTC are pretty much the same (I'm not even sure if there *is* any difference between them). When we go into daylight savings in the UK the time zone becomes BST (British Summer Time), which is GMT+1.

Well, I did say about. And then there's always the possibility that you people in England are living with daylight savings at the moment, so that makes things slightly more complicated.

Eastern Australia (Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and New South Wales) is GMT +10. We're also not currently in daylight savings time.

I'm helping! ^_^

That is indeed the case. Most of the rest of Australia uses daylight savings, except for us in Queensland. Because we're awesome and special. There is actually a reason we don't, but I can't remember it.

Well, it kind of requires a town where wood wasn't an abundant building material as well, or only the rich homes will have used stone (which they very well may've imported), and such towns aren't especially common around here, with Visby being the only clear exception...

I meant for churches, fortifications and public buildings. The first two of which are almost always stone and the last of which is often stone. Before the invention of motorised transport, moving stone long distances was an exceedingly expensive and slow process, and if you needed a lot of it, it was best to just find the nearest quarries and save imported stone for embellishments.
Otherwise, one needs the infrastructure and might of an empire combined with convenient transportation to accomplish it, which is still no guarantee. Even the Egyptians who had access to what was practically a super highway in those days used different kinds of stone for their temples based on location to save on costs and time.

Back in Finland the only things you get a student discount with are matters of transportation, i.e. trains and buses, and not even buses at all times. Man, do I love Orange Wednesdays with a student discount, it's like paying nothing for a film ticket...

*has been confused about time zones since moving to Scotland about a year ago* I mean heck, I can't even remember when I can contact my sister in Japan. Stupid time differences.

As always, it depends on the business in question. Which is highly variable from place to place. Cinemas are often expensive here anyway, at least to my understanding.

Fortunately, all my close relations live within four hours driving distance so time zones are not an issue. But alas, it does play havoc with my trying to work out what the best time to be on the Internet to discuss things with people is. It is a curse I assure you.
So, I've had to come up with a solution and it involves making you all move to Australia. However, like most solutions it lacks practicality.

Though, I may have to learn to drive anyway if we move to Proston.

Indeed it would. I'm pretty sure they have those down at the local music store. But I can't remember how much they cost any more and their website was notably uninformative.

Not odd at all. I was apparently a really cute kids. More then three cashiers had asked my Mom if they can take my eyelashes because they're apparently like, super fantastic.

Cinemas in Finland were horribly expensive, guh. How much are they in the glory of Aussie-land?

My family's sort of all over the place... Sister in Japan, me here in Scotland (and well, I don't know where I'll end up :smallwink:), other sister has settled in Finland, but they might move to the States at some point, if her husband wants to do a phD. He does mean that, and he's taking it far to hard. If he had listened to the game's clues instead of assuming they were tricks, he'd of finished the first mission in around ten minutes, a perfectly reasonable length. As opposed to the 25 or so he did.

Money penalty practically everytime you get hit, if I remember right, but yeah, you can die in the first one. This one feels like more like Epic Yarn, however.

I don't really get it myself. The multiplayer is just the single player but with more frustration. It's the same gameplay either way, so if you dislike the main game it's going to be the same thing from what I've seen.

It can get expensive, aye, but only if you have to drive a long way or a lot.

Apparently not as expensive as I thought they were... Only about twenty dollars for the movies I checked. But it likely varied from cinema to cinema as I just selected the biggest cinema around here to look for prices. And the local cinema is even cheaper for some reason! What is this? My life is a lie!

Come to Australia! We're significantly more awesome than a significant number of other countries! Or not. I have no idea of what the job market for your chosen field of study is like at the moment.

That is a most excellent and humorous picture.

I'd suggest not Yellowknife because it's a small town! But also I would suggest Yellowknife since it's where I live and I want a bakery.

Bah. It's about the same size as Mount Isa. So... If Yellowknife were in Australia, it would be classified as a large town. But then, hardly anyone lives in Australia, so we don't count as a standard for deciding what is or is not a large town or city.

It can get expensive, aye, but only if you have to drive a long way or a lot.

*nods* You should be able to find a relatively decent one for the equivalent of $50-$100 US dollars, although you might have to get it used.

Well, I suppose I'd probably never actually drive anywhere once I did have a license...
But on the other hand, I have a lot of interests and once I have my own method of transportation, I may decide to pursue them, and that would require driving a lot.

Probably. But it has been a while since I looked at them in the music store.

I'd say it's more medium-sized, really, but y'all don't get luna (https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR7NTxk5-u1HleeFvrh7fLFeSFaJq_zj6lCwENP0GzgjbP8NwC-Cw)moths (http://www.breadwig.com/photography/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/IMGP9334-butterfly-lunar-moth-photo-breadwig.com-zoom.jpg)in Europe. I'm actually glad of it, though - mascara is a PAIN, almost as much as eyeliner. How some women deal with that stuff every day is beyond me.

They are very young parent birds if the male has colors like the feathers growing on the baby bird!

ION: I put new glasses and sunglasses into order today, hopefully the sunglasses will arrive this week. I wouldn't really have had the need to change my lenses, but as my current frames seem to be falling apart as we speak... It's sort of necessary. These have been fixed far too many times up until now. *narrows eyes* My sunglasses will be polarised. Aww yiss. :smallcool:

When will you wear sunglasses in Scotland?

I was just talking to my girlfriend about running away to Canada and opening a bakery, if anyone else is interested :33

The bakery is to be "Gingerbread Queers" so we can totes make those.

What I want from a bakery is plain good yeast bread that I can buy every week. This is not easy to find. I am lucky that the cheap supermarket makes it.

Moth haters, unite!

Apparently not as expensive as I thought they were... Only about twenty dollars for the movies I checked. But it likely varied from cinema to cinema as I just selected the biggest cinema around here to look for prices. And the local cinema is even cheaper for some reason! What is this? My life is a lie!

Hmm... Perhaps buying a cheap but engrossing and really long game on Steam or something could solve this issue? For example, Space Empires V will steal my life if I'm not careful.
Alternatively, you could go for walks along the shoreline and contemplate nature. Or take up embroidery or knitting or something.
I'm running out of ideas.

No idea what the status of teaching is at the moment, but I don't think they're in need of them. Or they are but refuse to hire more of them. At least in Queensland. The job market is in rather poor shape around here.

Hmmh, in Finland it completely depends on what time of the day and week you're going to see the film. Right now the tickets would be less than that, but evenings, and especially weekend evenings the costs can fly quite high.

I've been trying to switch to history. I don't know. Do I want to remain in the education course? Aargh. I have to choose this year. I just have to. Well, there's that too. But I wouldn't really know anything about it as I so rarely go to the cinema. And when I do, someone else is usually paying. So... yeah.

It is indeed the worst state to not know what to do with one's life. It once stalked me at every corner. Now, I still don't know what I want to do, but I've decided that worrying about it would just lead to continual illness. But that could just be my medication dulling the overwhelming feeling of doom resulting from anywhere from fifty to eighty* years of accomplishing nothing with my life. Either that or I've just become content to a life of quietly pursuing my own interests.
My own issues aside, I have little wisdom that could aid you in this matter. After all, my own successes are few when it comes to gaining an education. Apparently being smart is not good enough. One must have intellect in the time and way possessed by the majority.
Still, all I can say is, go with what you think is best. Teaching is very rewarding, but it's not for everyone. My Granddad considered education, but decided against it and became an office worker, bookkeeper and highly respected and beloved individual by his friends, relatives and neighbours.
In short, don't think of what society would accept. Think about what you want, whether you can be comfortable doing it and if people hate you for it, then that's their issue.
Though I will finish by saying that history is an excellent area of study. I mean, there's nothing to stop you from doing history and art after all.

If that was any help at all, I will be most surprised as it was mostly me just going off on tangents and typing randomly. But if anything, I do hope it provoked some thoughts.
And despite saying that the above made little sense, my conclusion continues that trend. Truly, acknowledging a failing does not guarantee a solution.

*Medical science will likely increase life spans. I for one think living for a century would be interesting. Particularly if I live to one hundred and eight**, that means I'd have been alive in three different centuries. And an interesting fact that Mynxae pointed out to me, most of us are among the last humans to have ever born in a year starting with the digit one. There will be no one else to share that distinction for millennia. The future, is here.

**I increased the range just in case. And yes, this is a footnote in a footnote.

Hardly. It still applies. If there are too many helpful people, then eventually you'll run out food to feed them all with and some of them will starve to death and disease will spread through the surviving population. Alternatively, you could have so many that you'll be crushed beneath their weight.

And now I'm going to bed.

Good afternoon everybody. Today, as I was gathering the laundry, the same bird that bit my finger and neck jumped into the laundry basket. And I had someone else get the little rascal, since I dare not want to know where that bird would bite me next.

And when I was putting new toilet paper in the cabinet in the bathroom, a couple of bottles fell off, and one of them fell into the toilet. :smallsigh:

The one thing I enjoy about watering my mother's plants (vegetables and flowers) is the fact that I can scare wasps away by spraying water at them. And for those that do go down, I either attempt to drown them, or step on them. Feels good to drive those nasty bugs into the ground.

So, how are you guys doing?

Well, my good marsupial eschatologue, allow me to sit on your shoulder and tweet the answers to your questions.

Budgies are inclined to be cute and affectionate, but they need a lot of attention. If they are bitey or antisocial then it is the owner's fault. And yes, they chirp, but they have a lovely song and imitate sounds they hear frequently (sometimes words). Their small size and low price is misleading: they are full of personality and intelligence and love.

My family got a budgie when I was 8, and I fell in love with them forever. My current budgie is an older rescue bird who came to me bitey, antisocial, and unhealthy, but I have turned her into a chattery snuggly fluffball.

Anywhere from 6 months to 8 months full time depending on what field you are entering. Prison guards only take 6 months while investigators take 8 or more months. I am not quite sure what I want to do, but I got 4 or so months of basic training to decide.

Fortunately the county that I live in pays you while you train so I don't have to hold a full time job at the same time.

My aunt has a big cage full of finches. They're super cute but oh so chatty. It's a very effective way to keep yourself from oversleeping, because they're always chirping at about eight o clock. They're very colorful and cheery, except the one with the hurt wing who has to sit at the bottom and always seems cheery but makes me sad :(.

I wish the society agreed with me on this, I wish money agreed with me. I wish I could just, I dunno, make money whenever I needed to without it being an utter nuisance to the rest of the world.

Gong sayings...? :smallconfused:

Well for example in your quandary about Education vs. History (which I will frame as Gilded Cage vs. Horrible Horrible Freedom), it sounds like you don't want to teach (and who blames you): but you are uncertain what could happen for you if you switch. You could just switch, and figure the rest out later.

Heh, by gong sayings I mean vague pretentious wisdom-nuggets like "Confucius Says" that you would bang a gong right after saying.

Aw yiss, steak. I was at my friend's place out in the country this weekend, and on Saturday we barbe-a-queued some ribeye from his neighbour's cattle. Plus peas, smashed potatoes, and a salad all fresh from the garden. And then enough liquor for me to forget to change out of my suit before we went rolling around in a rye field...

He's getting fluffier and fluffier! Instruct his parents to feed him on the juiciest of snails and bugs so that he becomes fat and fluffy as can be. Let them spare no expense in his diet.

I'm sure that his parents already feed him as much as they are able. I have seen his father in particular snatch up an exquisite beetle specimen before returning to the nest.

Considering how hard it is to get a nice perfect distribution of heat, so you don't either burn yourself with the molten cheese spooge from hell, or bite into a layer of permafrost, I'd say that yes, it does!

I have just cooked and eaten pancakes. I spilled milk into the wet pancakes and worried that it would not work but they were perfect.

Helpful people are the blessed sun that illuminates this world. There really can't be too much helpful people in this world (although I suppose there can be too much sun... Broken analogy...).

They are the light.

Hardly. It still applies. If there are too many helpful people, then eventually you'll run out food to feed them all with and some of them will starve to death and disease will spread through the surviving population. Alternatively, you could have so many that you'll be crushed beneath their weight.

And now I'm going to bed.

I really, really want to do something with my life, but it's just that my mind fluctuates horribly often. I can't stay in place, I must go forward all the time. I just can't concentrate. I must keep on going. And well, the biggest problem with me is that I worry far too much about things although I know that worrying only brings more grey hairs to my mind.

Sometimes I wonder why there is a need to do something with life. Cats live fine without it. A day for them is fine if it is a day asleep. Maybe we are all making a big mistake to think that there is a need. Or maybe it is just the need to try to do something no one else could do. That's OK but being yourself is very small and not something that needs a big accomplishment behind it. If you see a light that nobody else has seen that is enough but it does not feel like enough. You have to tell someone about the light too. The telling is the doing. The sharing of a story with someone else is the doing. And it is not paid for unless the listening person is being paid as a therapist.

I deleted something about medicine. Sorry. I never took pills. But what opened my mind was a hurt that I cannot stop or undo. Pills you can stop. Sometimes I wonder if I could have opened my mind and then stopped if I had dared to take medicine.

Elemental

Elemental, you are at a good stage where you have released your grip on the idea that you have to have your life figured out yet. Come, swirl with me in the existential whirlpool! Slouch with me to 30 to be born (I'm chipping away at my grad degree like a dwarf mining silver with a dentist's pick, and have changed my direction seven nine times since high school)!

Indeed. Their is so much of my life ahead of me, planning it all now would be a pointless waste of time. Though admittedly, I would prefer something more stable than a whirlpool but I am happy for the current to take me to exciting places from time to time.
Hmm... Nine changes in direction. It is indeed a good thing you chose not to become a navigator. However, a slow pace allows one to better follow the vein of silver rather than lose it in the darkness of the Earth and be forced to settle for the dull grey of lead.

I have heard really sad disturbing stories about budgies in the company of larger parrots that I do not wish to utter. ;___; Suffice to say that body language and behaviour differs amongst birdkind, and my people's innate curiosity and fluffy friendliness can be taken... amiss by more territorial and aggressive creatures.

It is indeed the case. When I last visited a bird sanctuary, the larger, more aggressive birds, macaws, cockatoos and the like, were in cages, whereas the smaller and/or less aggressive birds were free to roam the entirety of the interior. Of course, that didn't stop some of the little finches from flying through the gaps in the cage of that macaw... Fortunately, it did not seem to go after them when they did and they did not annoy it in turn.
I'm not sure if they had budgerigars there... But they did have lorikeets and other parrots, as well as doves and pigeons of numerous kinds. The lorikeets in particular were quite bold.
But what I remember most was the nests built on top of nest boxes. It strikes me as a truly excellent way to make use of them.

YAY! I just got accepted to my local police academy! I am going to follow in my late father's footsteps and become an office of the law! (hopefully)

Since I don't really have anyone to share this information with, I thought I would tell random people on the internet!

Also, heh, yeah. Our life span has already extended, so I can't see it not getting longer in the future. I wonder what'll be the ultimate limit, though.

It's ok. I'm hopeless when it comes to helping others with this sort of a matter. And blah, medication. That time for me was rather hazy.. I don't really remember feeling like anything after they were forced on me.

History is really interesting, and I would love to study more on civil wars and such conflicts, plus oral history and its preservation. But... The job choices? Researcher (could be ok, doesn't pay much) and... teacher. HAHAHAHAHA. No.

*pats on head*
My train of thought never makes sense.

As always, I can only suggest to do what you think is right. If society won't accept you for it, then there's not much we can do about it.
Of course, on the surface that just advocates going off and operating soup kitchens in poor neighbourhoods, or something else suitably charitable. But in reality, it advocates not being a jerk. But we all knew that already and now I'm being circular in my terrible advice.
Anyway... Worrying is the worst. It's worse than failure. After all, if you fail something, it's failed. If you spend days or even weeks worrying, you merely extend the period of stress and uncertainty. Not to say that worrying is inherently a bad thing. It helps us plan for contingencies and prevents us being caught unaware when stuff goes wrong. All I can say is to remember that you are young and have plenty of time. The days are getting longer after all.
Likely the lifespan of the human brain cell. Whatever that turns out to be. I don't see many people living much after one hundred and ten even with highly advanced medicine.

Mine's pretty mild. It's only an anti-depressant, not a mood stabiliser. It does dull stress and help a bit. I do genuinely feel more happy now that I'm on rather than when I wasn't. At first, I didn't really feel anything, but I've adapted. Of course, this is merely anecdotal evidence, and a single piece of anecdotal evidence is not enough to base one's decision on regarding psychiatric medication.

On the one hand, researcher could lead to almost anything. You could go on to become a historian specialising in medieval documents and folklore and end up on a remake of Time Team in the future or something. It is pretty open ended, so you're not pigeon holing yourself like if you got a degree in meta-academic epidemiology or something else narrow that actually exists.

Apparently, whenever Mynxae hears the phrase "train of thought", he thinks of trains. That evokes some rather humorous imagery.

Sometimes I wonder why there is a need to do something with life. Cats live fine without it. A day for them is fine if it is a day asleep. Maybe we are all making a big mistake to think that there is a need. Or maybe it is just the need to try to do something no one else could do. You have to tell someone about the light too. The telling is the doing. The sharing of a story with someone else is the doing. And it is not paid for unless the listening person is being paid as a therapist.

I suppose the issue could be that unlike cats, we are descended from prey. We need to strive to escape doom, a cat is a doombringer. True, we're masters of our destiny now, but we weren't all that long ago. Blessed with intelligence, we truly understand how fragile we are, and we fear that. We need to accomplish something if only to prove our own significance. Cats on the other hand, they have little understanding of their own mortality and thus feel no need for accomplishments to prove themselves. Combined with domestication and the protection and comforts they receive as a result, they quite literally feel no need to do anything but relax. Ignorance is bliss after all.
Not that I would exchange my intelligence for a relatively carefree existence. That would remove my ability to debate the nature of human achievement.

In related, but completely irrelevant news: I find it really annoying when people but double spaces after their full stops, ellipses, exclamation marks, question marks and other sentence ending punctuation marks. It's completely irrational of me to be so annoyed by something so minor that I can only detect when quoting people's posts. And it's not like I don't understand why people do it, but that doesn't help at all!

Ah, but you see, I did. I was walking along, singing The Killers as I am wont to do, when I found myself being spied upon by Eegore's (to this day I haven't a clue why they named her that) beady little eyes of doom, perfectly still. On a whim, I started a different tune, changing the words to "this bird wants to kill me." She nodded enthusiastically. Thus, she has already given me a confession of her murderous intent.

Hmmh. I don't know what it is, but seems like all humans have the need to do at least something significant in their lives. Of course the level of how significant they want things to be varies, but, hm. Blah. I don't know, my brain isn't really collecting any thoughts properly. Um.

I honestly think that being yourself... At least on my part it's the most difficult thing.

As always, I can only suggest to do what you think is right. If society won't accept you for it, then there's not much we can do about it.

Blah, I suppose this means getting to know what I actually think is right. And that stuff requires brain work, what a nuisance... *wipes dust off brain and looks for the on-button*

The worst thing about worrying is that I know I postpone my own life and priorities by taking other people's worries to myself as well even if it's not needed at all. I would lie if I said I didn't worry for myself, but I smother that worry and then worry for others. Hmh.

Well, I have always had this silly need to work at a museum or something and being a historian wouldn't exactly lower my chances, but, gah. Right now I can't see myself happy in any form of profession. Roaming free, now that would be nice...

I have to agree on this, hehe.

Here is a sketch I wanted to do for Teddy a week ago to help him cheer up. It is Teddy riding Ovis into battle.

@Polarised lenses: If you get a pair and look at a flat screen monitor with them and tilt your head to the side, it makes the picture vanish. I think... Damned Wikipedia and their American spellings...

Yes, this is true for normal LCD screens. My Tablet PC's screen is special, and instead turn incredibly psychedelic, looking a bit like I imagine an LSD trip would...

Hardly. It still applies. If there are too many helpful people, then eventually you'll run out food to feed them all with and some of them will starve to death and disease will spread through the surviving population. Alternatively, you could have so many that you'll be crushed beneath their weight.

Heh, they're hardly helpful if they breed so much they overpopulate the Earth, or all decide to jump upon you, but you have a point...

YAY! I just got accepted to my local police academy! I am going to follow in my late father's footsteps and become an office of the law! (hopefully)

Since I don't really have anyone to share this information with, I thought I would tell random people on the internet!

Congratulations! Become a willpowered and honourable policeman, I've always looked up to people of that creed.

Heck, I don't know - I just wear the glasses! :smallyuk:

Well, you should be happy to know that polarised glasses have many wonderful uses! Going to a lake/river/the sea? Bring your glasses to look through the reflections in the water. Going cloudgazing? Bring your glasses to make the sky behind darker, making clouds you never saw visible.

I was rather shocked that the guy I talked to was really nice. I've usually ended up shouting at the people about how inept they are at what they do as a living.

It struck me quite recently that I'm reaching the point in my education where I can't those working in my field to be more competent than me on virtue of them having a job while I'm still learning. The fact I could do better than someone out there isn't entirely reassuring...

I'm cookin' steak! Yay steak!

Anyone else cook stuff recently? I'm guessing yes since you're all responsible adults :smallamused:

I made taco burgers the other day!

Get ground beef. Shred LOTS of cheese, preferably a jack or cheddar, or mexican blend and some taco seasoning. Hand mix both into ground beef. Make patties out of meat. Cook. Add salsa, and other fixings into burger. No need for cheese, as its in the burger.

Add bacon for extra enjoyment.

Repeat as needed. :smallcool:

This is giving me flashbacks to the taco pizza they served in the cafeteria last year. I decided to try it assuming it just had hot sauce and sausage and was like a taco in that respect.

NOPE.

It had refried beans instead of pizza sauce. I nearly died.

Now they've removed his entire left ear and part of his right. My dad informed me the ear removal surgery went well. to which I texted back - "Good to hear."

...and I just realized how terrible of a pun I just made about my grandfather's sugery by accident, and I'm abashed and sad (and also a tiny bit amused...)

I guess I'm here because most other threads I am in go too slowly; here I can actually converse.

Well yeah, the homework is for an online college class that goes year around. My "vacation time" is anytime that I'm not actively doing class work. And the game is great. I play it on the computer and enjoy trying different game mods.

I'm sorry to hear about problems. :smallfrown: I hope your grandpa will be okay. It is good that the surgery went well though. And heh, sometimes having a small joke in worrying times can be a good things. Ear based humor is a plus. :smallwink: It could have been worse.

Refried beans look and taste like they have been through someone's body already. I agree with you. :smallyuk: What a bad surprise on a pizza.

Huuurgh.

I just ate a four pack of icing due to personal reasons.

Remind me never to do this again :smallsick:

Icing is made to leave a bad feeling in your mouth after the last bite that only goes away when you eat more icing. Glazed donuts do too. I don't know how to fix that so I just do not buy and eat them as long as I remember. There are other good things to eat that do not hide a bad feeling in every bite. Even at a dollar store. :smallyuk:

*is delicious?*

...I think part of it might be that it's hard to look fierce when you're a prey animal. A fluffy, adorable one.

Elemental says that we are prey. So looking pretty is enough for some of us. Or looking fierce.

Hmm... Nine changes in direction. It is indeed a good thing you chose not to become a navigator.

All I can say is to remember that you are young and have plenty of time. The days are getting longer after all.

This is true,

and it is a good thing that you are not a calendar maker. The days are getting shorter in August. :smalltongue:

A lot of people need to pay a tiny bit to give a researcher enough money to live. Time Team works because it is research for thousands of TV watchers and keeps the cost low enough. FinnLassie wants to keep doing something new so she needs to research quickly so she can get through a lot of new things. After that she can sell many uses of research to a few people each instead of one big thing to thousands of TV watchers watching the same thing.

You make sense to say that we are prey. I cannot say that I feel it though. If I die someone will not loot my time and my kitchen and my future food that I would have eaten ten years from now.

Is Elemental the only one who was not taught to use two spaces or am I the only one who was taught to use them? I worry.

...my first guess was curator, but that seems unlikely, unless you are secretly a museum.

It sort of works. If Teddy's spirit is open to the public. And it is here.

Bit of programming, modelling, calculations and troubleshooting. Thing is, once the brain is geared like that, it's difficult to stop.

I've calmed down a bit now, though. Might just go to sleep. I'm actually exhausted. Mental strain like woah.
