How to Random Banter:
Rules of the Random Banter Thread

1. Spam. For the purposes of RB, one word posts are generally considered spam. Likewise, posts that are nothing but *actions like this* are also be considered spam. Remember that the quality of the post's content is much better than the speed of your response.

2. This isn't the Play by Post or Town forum, nor is it the Silly Message Board Games or Structured Games forum. Please avoid continuous roleplay or mock battles and fights such as the "competition for control of the universe".

3. If it's already a thread, don't bring it to RB. RB has such a huge range of subject matter even restricted to the little snippets that probably don't warrant their own thread, it doesn't need legitimate thread topics cluttering it up as well. The exception to this is to bring something that is off-topic from one thread, but on-topic for RB and the subject doesn't warrant a thread of its own.

4. Don't advertise other threads in RB. Just because these new threads move at speeds more appropriate to a message board than an IM session doesn't mean you need to come over to RB and brow beat people into posting in your latest brainchild.

5. Please don't post single line posts alerting us to your current status -- as in "I'm back." This is Random Banter, not "How to stalk Random GitP forum members."

6. Don't poke, kick or bump the thread. It will move at whatever pace it wants to. Also, please refrain from Captain Obvious comments akin to "My, the thread is fast today."

7. Random Banter can only be as good, or as entertaining, as you make it. Demands to be entertained will fall on deaf ears unless you can add something more meaningful to the conversation.

8. As this is a public forum, where the current topic is nicely recorded for you, and not a conversation where you could have missed the beginning, please refrain from asking something to the effect of "What's the topic?". Please take the time to read up a bit first.

9. Thread Creator must include the words "Random" and "Banter" as well as the thread #. Try to be concise as well.

10. Every post should contain two visible, legible complete sentences, Subject and Predicate. C'mon, make your old English teachers proud.

11. Remember, Random Banter is not your IM client. If you want to have a back and forth discussion with just one person, look in their contact information for IM details.

12. Whenever a new thread is created, all "first post", "first page", and all posts of that nature will be deleted by the administrators. Please avoid doing this, as it is frustrating for them to deal with one-lined posts like this.

13. Double-posting is not your friend. We have edit buttons for a reason.

14. Once you have made a Random Banter thread, you must wait 50 threads before making another one.

15. If you can avoid dibs calling on making the next thread, that will avoid people needing to wait if the thread hits 50 pages while the dibs-caller is asleep.

Awe! :smalltongue: Such wonderful silliness.
Also please ignore my 2nd edit to my above post. I forgot when reading through to catch up that you mentioned him more. Still sorta waking up.

Yes, he is one wonderful thing. Impossible at times, but when something like this comes up you just have to forget his cranky bits of the day. :smalltongue:

'Sokay. Now we have cookies in the thread, all is fine!

*asplodes*

Nay, this I will not allow! *stands up* No braiding.

Mayhaps I'm just using the wrong name... :smalltongue: Also: thank goodness.

Heheheheheh

Yay, now we can make some Amistew to go with the Amicake!

Hey! Hey! I'm in the midway of doing it. You totally ruined it. Hmph. And it'll be hard to open from there as your hair is so tangled up. You know, you might want me to brush it or something. :smalltongue:

Well, you may as well be aware of one's true name, but you do not know the nickname that is used in the family. So, sorry, still not good enough. A good attempt, though. :smallwink: not cute enough YET. Heh.

Indeed. My jaws are hurting from laughing. His face, priceless.

Oh Cuthalion, I just love your avatar.
So, do I, so do I. I wish budgies were larger, though. I would have changed it by now were it not for the count to 50 thread, which needs me.

I know I've cooked for myself and the rest of my family. I've heated up Clam Chowder, cooked Kraft Mac and Cheese (it took a few times to get it right. At one point I accidentally made Mush and Cheese :smallsigh:). And I actually heated up some Calzones with the oven. It was my first time working with the oven, and yet the Calzones came out perfectly. So I know how to use the stove, oven, and the microwave (but then again just about anybody can operate a microwave :smalltongue:)
You know, making calzones isn't all that hard. You make a small pizza and fold it in half.

When people say "Kraft dinner," they mean "prepackaged macaroni and cheese." There are very simple instructions on the box.
The one time I tried to make prepackaged mac'n'cheese (primitive for your family) I added the cheese at the wrong time, I think? It ended up really weird. :smalltongue:

Crotchety Old Man never mixes well with discussions of the baser elements of humanity, I find. The closest you can really get is a Sam Vimes, and, well, that's Sam Vimes.

It's simple, really - just say "kids today" instead of "people" and you somehow gain both crotchetiness and credibility.

I am indeed aware that the dark side of human nature applies to more than just sexism. Sexism, however, has tendrils in many aspects of our darker nature.

I am disinclined to argue this point, mainly because I realize that my own views are heavily influenced by regional norms and personal experiences that may not apply to you - or anyone else on the forums, for that matter.

Happy birthday new thread!

Also, regarding Les Mis.

Javert's death is tragic, and I don't think it was the only way out for him, but it is so appropriate with his characterization that I love it. Unless I understood it wrong, he just walked out into the ocean and never came back once he came under. A man weighted down by his guilt so much that not even the sea will spit him back up.

How can you turn on the oven in this heat? Are you making solar oven cookies? I would like to try that again once I figure out the wasp problem. For now anything set up outside which is wet attracts wasps. Watering the zinnias is frightening. They try to land on the stream of water as it is poured.

My lunch was bread and citrus peel. I think I must go grocery shopping.

Last Thread Malarkey.
They were high and stupid, and also one of them was my sister, you shouldn't be surprised by this.

I guess it's a good thing I don't have a sister, really. It seems like just about every time people mention them, I wonder why they haven't headbutted them yet. :smallconfused:

My sister has infact cooked this stuff before. She knew better and was specifically asked to not bother me for food, and she did this even after I gave her, from MY OWN STORE OF FOOD, out of the goodness of my heart, some pepperoni sticks.

That was your first mistake. If you give a mouse a cookie or give a sister a stick of hot, spicy meat; it matters not. It all ends in tragedy and crying and screaming.

No! Bad Coidz! BAD! :smallmad: *slap*

Exactly. Now to learn how to use a microwave and a stove to boil water safely and properly. :smallamused: Maybe make some cake in a mug (http://www.rd.com/slideshows/cake-in-a-mug-and-more-mug-recipes/).

I have never once made myself a Kraft dinner, but that is because I have never heard of them before. I'd probably need someone to do it for me.

Hmm?

Can you boil water, use a colander, measure liquids and butter, and set a timer?

Whaaaaat? But the mods banned it aaages ago, when some shippers went too far onto the adult side...

As Coid said, that was actually the Crack Pairing thread over at the OotS discussion, which tipped the scale with something rather incestuous I read half of but got fed up with (I'm not sure why I read it to start with, I only know that I read the last crack pairing ever posted on these boards...), but what made the mods wary to start with were when the image threads for fine renditions of males and females in a classical roleplaying setting devolved into pure pornography threads.

Also, shipping nowaday mostly consists of saying "shipshipship", not actual descriptive shipping like in the old days, although there was a semi-recent (halfway between the ban and now) event when RB strayed too far into the descriptive end and was locked for quite some time while the mods looked it through (they provided a backup thread, though)...

*Amipie? Yes, yes you are*

Whee, more silly images! It's so fun to see other's mental pictures, not just hear of them.

Also, Hugcake totally wants to become friends with Amipie, and will be so sad to see Amipie become the main course...

Thank you for asking, Haluesen, and thank you for the simple answer, Coidzor. From the way it was used I thought ship was short for "put two people in a ship and shipwreck them on a desert island and see what happens". That still works doesn't it?

Usually it's fairly organic or in response to baiting or actions that are so close to baiting that everyone is made uncomfortable by the fact that they're unintentionally ship-baiting and so inform them of how things look.

Usually.

I get shipped the most of, like everyone. They've started pairing me with people they've never met, who don't go on the forum.

I get shipped with Teddy, LaLa, Blue, Hatter (although that's mainly just form him being an idiot), and I think even Mutant at one point. That's not counting the two or three boys I've mentioned who don't reside here who I've also been shipped with.

The trick is just to stab anyone who brings it up so they don't start shipping you again.

Sometimes. Sometimes we just joke about Lala having an unrequited, forbidden love for you.

Aww, I never get stabbed by Moony. Though I guess I can take consolation in the fact that I now have a blister in the shape of the moon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCkNelMonqI).

The bandages are kept in the kitchen for good reasons. The knife is soaking in bleach.

I can make the sauces but I cannot fry anything well. There is also that special flavor of fry oil that has been heated many times. Even if I could fry food well the oil would be fresh and miss something.

I can make my own pizza though so that is a good enough trade. Maybe I will try a calzone soon. No mushrooms in the filling though. Their water all comes out and makes a wet calzone.

1. My mother prepared bowls of wonton soup for everybody, but for some reason they didn't want them, so they ended up handing over their soups to me.

2. Tasted alright. Pie-like crust on the outside (sort of the sort you would taste from a Chicken-Pot Pie, creamy melted cheese, and bits of sausage and pepperoni.

Dear Doctor Edward Feser,
I understand that you are significantly more versed in Philosophy and Theology than I, being both several decades older and possessing higher degrees than I; however I wish to criticise your writing style.
Your Aquinas: Beginner's Guide is an entry in a Beginner's Guide series; this means it is intended to slowly introduced key concepts of a topic to people who know little to nothing about the topic in question.
This means you don't write lengthy paragraphs where half the paragraph or more consists of fairly lengthy quotes from Aquinas' work, especially on such an obtuse and difficult concept as medieval metaphysics (which is even tricky for those who have studied it at length), without explaining it in better terms than an analogy restating and rephrasing the quotation, with little to no actual explanation.
Yes, I see you compare medieval metaphysical beliefs with later interpretations of the same concepts. Concepts you admit to being difficult for the uninformed to understand without sizeable help. What a lay person would like, when trying to get a better understanding of a topic they have developed an interest in, is a clear, concise (or at least a concise as possible) overview of things designed to encourage that interest without being condescending to a new student.
To conclude Dr. Feser, what I don't want in a book designed to introduce me to a new subject is convoluted, circular, imprecise explanations on a sub-section of that subject that is actually a key component to understanding a major part of that subject.
In this case: when trying to learn more about Aquinas, I would like a better explanation for such a confusing subject as metaphysics, because his stance on various aspects of that subject is one of the key aids to understanding his thoughts on theology. Y'know, that thing he's most well-known for: the Summa Theologica? One of the most famous, and most influential, books in Christianity.
You've almost entirely succeeded in putting me off the Angelic Doctor entirely. And people who've witnessed by enormous wall-o'-text quotestorms with Dragonprime about Aquinas, history, theology, the medieval period, Scholasticism and the impact of all those things on literature know that this is a truly outstanding achievement.
Please rethink your writing style, because I believe it discourages more potential new students/readers than it actually encourages.
Thank you for reading this letter.

Yours aggravatedly,
Miss Koorly KitGirl.

A Rocky Horror Picture Show at Macbeth? You would have to shout that. And shout whenever someone said Macbeth. And probably throw something red in the air whenever someone talked about blood. And the scene with the porter would be audience participation.

Though I could be wrong. I need to find a good book on the topic.

That would perhaps be the worst method of discovering one's allergies. Though it is good to hear that you're getting better.
I'm not particularly afraid I'll end up in hospital. We've caught this comparatively early and I've had it a couple of times before without serious issue. Though the sore throat really bugs me.

The important thing is though, you are not contagious, which is always a good thing.

I think those only happen near the areas with mines. I did not see any markets like that before I came to California. Here there are gem markets. I do not count the jewelry district in LA since that is a big enough market that it brings in gems from everywhere.

Bad news about the sickness. It is his turn for us to tell him to take care of you because we are too far away to do it ourselves.

Hmm... That is indeed odd. After all, there are no mines around here that I'm aware of.

I shall have to guilt him into doing things for me. But there are no guarantees of success in that endeavour.

Local gemstone markets? Pffft, where do you live to believe this to be a common occurrence? :smallwink:

And no, no travelling gemstone shows either...

You misunderstand... In this case, the markets are generic. And the shows are agricultural/industrial shows put on by various towns and shires annually. You would probably call them fairs or something.

Yeah. It should probably be a small gem, but a rough gemstone in the right setting would probably be quite admirable indeed.

My citrine would probably be better for being set while rough as the crystals are substantially smaller. But I do much prefer purple to orange.

From an environmental and large-scale societal perspective: Don't. Never take antibiotics unless prescribed such, and if you ever start an antibiotics treatment, you must fulfill it. Multidrug-resistant bacteria is a large enough problem as it is, and the main cause is by far the rampant overuse of antibiotics.

Trust me, these are prescribed. One can't get antibiotics without a prescription after all.

This is why I wouldn't show Othello to sophomores. Much Ado I probably would, because it's a comedy and you aren't supposed to take it seriously, but I wouldn't expect a sophomore to take anything seriously, given that I've seen sophomores laugh at both a video of a puppy being thrown off a cliff (a shocking opening to a presentation on animal cruelty) and the ending of Of Mice and Men.

Pfft. I've had mothers say that I'm never allowed near their children again. Just because I said I found it funny when children injure themselves. Which was totally out of context.

I got called lady repeatedly in the two weeks my dad was out of town for some reason. It was sort of surprising.

GLARGLE

And then mutate into a female and attempt to continue the species.

I've just had mothers clutch their small children in terror in my wake, really. It's much more surreal to play nanny to Coidzpapa and Coalzor at the same time though.

Oh? Surprising? Because usually it's "Stop that young hellion!" instead? :smallamused: Or because people called you a lady once you were no longer escorted by your pater familias?

And here I was thinking that my brains had just become complete pudding when it came to academics. I suppose I'll just have to see if I still have it in me with some other scholars then.

Yeah, that's why I had to erase the backups. I needed the extra space. Couldn't fit it all on there, anyway; I had to borrow your flash drive to get the last few discographies.

A Rocky Horror Picture Show at Macbeth? You would have to shout that. And shout whenever someone said Macbeth. And probably throw something red in the air whenever someone talked about blood. And the scene with the porter would be audience participation.

I knew there was a reason I liked the cut of Taet's jib from the get go.

Heh :smallamused: I'm less afraid of volcanoes than I am of being killed by some random poisonous animal in Australia. :smalltongue:

Never fear; the pegasus is not in danger. The only thing getting slaughtered is the alphabet, and (when I inevitably die) the @ symbol. :smallcool:

But the food is much more interesting without it, don't you think? :smallamused:

If you go around eating random things, then dying is your own fault. However, as you are no doubt getting poisonous confused with venomous, I suggest using common sense. It's kept us Australians alive for as long as we've been here.

Hmm... Are you sure it's wise to slaughter the alphabet? A pictographic system can be annoying to use from time to time.

It all depends on the dish in question. Some of them I wouldn't even dream of adding sanity to, whereas others simply must have it to give it that little bit of extra... Hmm... It's not easy to describe...

That's when I get up

I really wish I could get up at that time. It would be very convenient.

No! Flight of the Conchords came from there! More awesome. :smallyuk:

Try being nearly killed/hit in the face with/blinded/<insert bad stuff here> with fireworks, then you'll understand me.

*shrug* I just get pretty flowers, I don't care what they mean. Besides, their meaning is strongly knit with culture, so. Different places might mean different meanings.

Bah! So many more awesome things owe their origins to Australia. Like... Um... The Bee Gees! And ACDC! And... I can't remember anything else music related. Mynxae knows more.

Ahh... That's indeed unfortunate.

But I like flower language... It makes planning wreaths and floral borders so much easier!

Myeah. It was rather interesting. Together with my rather bad swelling of the neck, I couldn't breathe and the skin on my face just sort of dried completely. After that all of my allergic reactions have become worse, don't know why.

Well, it's not like me being an auntie has been a secret or anything. :smalltongue: You're saying it as if I were a mother... :smallamused:

That would be due to your immune system overreacting on future occasions because it's very zealous.

But I have the greatest respect for aunts! I mean, if I were a woman, I'd be someone's spinster aunt! However, I may simply be lucky with my aunts as they are all awesome.

I believe poppies would be more appropriate... :smallamused:

What? Consolation, fantastic extravagance or sleep depending on colour?
Well, the last one might fit, I'm not really sure.

Though there is the other connotation of poppies, but my sources are limited and I don't know if it counts.

The important thing is though, you are not contagious, which is always a good thing.

Hmm, so would your opinion of me have changed if I had become an aunty instead of an unca?

Indeed, it's a terrible thing to be contagious. And an even more terrible thing to want to link most Sexual Lobster flashes... XD

I usually solve that problem by shipping Cap with Black Widow, but to each his (or her) own.

HAMLET WAS NEVER TRYING TO BE A GOOD WRITER, HE WAS TRYING TO GET TWO SPECIFIC PEOPLE TO SQUIRM.

I despise people like that. Not the laughing at the end of Mice and Men, but the people who think they have to act as if they aren't emotionally affected by things that are real, or think it's cool to be without empathy or ethics. But Branagh's Othello totally had a hilarious scene. It was when Iago was trying to get the handkerchief from Emilia and he is just making out with her on the bed. Suddenly he sits up totally straight, shouts "TRIFLES", and basically just walks off screen. Everyone was ****ing hysterical over that, jsut from the mood switch.

But... they have nothing that would make them work well together. They didn't even have chemistry in the film.

See, I often actually do act as if I'm not emotionally affected by things, because when I see them I don't trust the people around me with my emotions. Then I call my sister and we yell about the feels.

He went to the doctors yesterday afternoon to get them. I find it funny that he's complaining more even though he can still eat and drink, which I couldn't for the day of and day before going into hospital. :smallsigh::smallamused::smalltongue:

Perhaps that's the explanation, if it hurt so much to you that even complaining wasn't worth it. :smallwink:

Do not stab me, MoonCat. I can stab myself well enough. I was cutting vegetables for dinner and cut my finger with the smooth knife. I thought that it was supposed to be the wavy knife for meat and skin. :smallfrown: It's hard not to bleed on the food.

No, the wavy knife is for bread and other foodstuff with a hard crust, and has a tendency to curve toward one side or another (which is annoying when you try to make straight slices). Meat should be cut with a straight, sharp edge.

Also, ow! I hope it isn't too deep...

The bandages are kept in the kitchen for good reasons. The knife is soaking in bleach.

Why bleach? Cold water and some detergent should take it all away.

.................. Odd. Seems like my stomach is trying to decide to either be hungry or full. :smallconfused:

Welcome to my life. I blame this for one of the reasons to why I can't gain weight...

You misunderstand... In this case, the markets are generic. And the shows are agricultural/industrial shows put on by various towns and shires annually. You would probably call them fairs or something.

Well, there is one weekly market, but they mostly deal in fresh greens and clothes and accessories, and no, no fairs selling gemstones, at least not in my town (and I think we'd actually call them something Swedish :smallwink:)...

My citrine would probably be better for being set while rough as the crystals are substantially smaller. But I do much prefer purple to orange.

Hmm, perhaps you could try to go for something slightly larger than a ring, like a buckle or a necklace... A cape buckle would be quite awesome, if requiring a cape to show off...

Trust me, these are prescribed. One can't get antibiotics without a prescription after all.

Ahh, good, I got the idea that you had yet to visit a doctor when you wrote all that.

And while that's true over here as well, it isn't everywhere...

And here I was thinking that my brains had just become complete pudding when it came to academics. I suppose I'll just have to see if I still have it in me with some other scholars then.

So many academics, while amazing lecturers and teachers, should not be allowed to write an introductory book on a subject, or sometimes even one that finds its way onto an undergraduate's reading list.
Although for that one I should partially blame on the people who set the list; however, I do concede that sometimes the material in the books are just so useful, or so pivotal to a certain essay they have to be there, and conscientious tutors/lecturers/blah do (and should) make a note that the material is difficult/dry/[problem] and the pertinent information is found in ch. [x], or just make themselves available to explain it.

I really like the [Subject]: A Very Short Introduction (http://global.oup.com/academic/content/series/v/very-short-introductions-vsi/;jsessionid=0A5A80B4879A3AB75339EF5A396F2D2E?cc=gb&lang=en&) series, though given each one is written by an expert in [topic], so you can still run into obstruse writing styles. But the plus side is that they're typically one hundred pages give or take, The size of the pages is less than an A5 piece and paper, and they always include a sizeable Further Reading section broken down by chapter so you can direction your own interest more easily.

All the Cambridge Companion (http://universitypublishingonline.org/cambridge/companions/) are usually of very high quality. These are a collection of essays on [topic], but since they are essays the writing is often clearer because there's a rough page limit to it. Depending on the subject they might sort it by chronology, theme or style or something else entirely. Not all these chapters are aimed at beginners, instead it's just as if they wrote essays aimed at undergraduates, but in such a way that a novice would mostly understand as well.
Personally, I've never had a problem reading a Cambridge Companion or reading the bits I wanted or needed to, but that's still not to say that some of the material isn't challenging at times.

The other good point with both of these series, as opposed to many of the 'popular' history/science/etc. books aimed at the beginner/lay person is that these are all academically rigorous books with (hopefully) few to no misconceptions.
That is, all the information is accurate, as much as it is given to you, but it won't be entirely accurate because parts of it have been glossed over for length (VSI) or because the Companion, I think, pretty much allows its essayists relatively free reign to write what they want within a broad topic, so with the Companion they'll write how they interpret a thing, and that gives you a starting point on whether you agree with the reading or not, and then off you go.

THEN HE SHOULD HAVE HIRED A SQUIRMOLOGIST. I THINK THEY HAVE THOSE IN DENMARK.

Hmm, I need to catch up on my Branagh then. XD

I like to refer to those as "out of left field"/"tidying up loose ends"/"refusing to go with actual chemistry" ships, myself.

Well, something is rotten in the state of Denmark, so that makes sense.

Now to make myself breakfast, trying to get actual breakfasty stuff and not just make ramen noodles, though I may be losing that fight in the end.

There is enough boiling water in a kettle to make one cup of tea plus one bowl of ramen noodles. That is a sign. Ramen for breakfast. Mine was shrimp.

Nah, you're not being pushy. (and you'll have to do quite a lot more than that to come off as offensive to me. :smallamused:)

The past is a wonderful place. It's much more comforting than the future. Also, I'd protest that I live in the present. :smalltongue:

There are green peppers and onions on this pizza (among various meats), so I think I'm doing just fine, thank you. :smalltongue:

Alright good. I hate offending others, well most of the time at least. O:)

Eh, the past and future both are so weird. I think I like the present most of all.

That sounds like a delicious pizza. :smalltongue: Now I'm all jealous!

I enjoy it when I can but my family set ups are just so odd. Like how I am a minion to one of my best friends and yet a henchman to another, which are both somehow different, and sometimes counted as an uncle to a friend that I treat as a sister...all kinds of loops and ties. It isn't really about knowing how. It's just doing whatever comes naturally, at least to me that is how it seems. I don't actively try to be the way that I am.

Yes, a sign! It must be true! :smalltongue: I got myself pork ramen with garlic and onions. Mmmm...

That's a cute song, though a bit clunky on the tune.

Pizza can have vegetables!

I know, I know. That's just part of the Finnish state of mind, though. We're not tactful at all.

Silly thing! What I stated here was "pizza is not a vegetable", which refers to a certain derp conducted in the US of A. Pizza with vegetables, lots of them, is amazing though.

Aww but he is good! I wish I could smile as much as he does and he kicks so much butt! And I am kinda a cake fan, so there is that too.

So you had fun with your nephew then? Got no nieces or nephews of my own yet, but I know someday.. :smallsigh:

Pseudorrito... I just... You 'Murricans come up with the weirdest things let me tell you. :smalltongue: What's a sloppy joe?

Pseudo-burrito, pseudito? *shrug* A sloppy joe is basically the bastard lovechild of spaghetti sauce, chili, and hamburger. Essentially you take a tomato-based sauce with pureed/finely chopped vegetables and seasonings and spices, mix it with browned, crumbed ground/minced beef(or, I suppose, a mixture of beef & pork or beef and/or pork/chicken/both), mildly reduce it at a simmer long enough for it to soak into the meat, though it usually comes thick enough to eat anyway, and then spread it on the inside of a bun and eat as a sandwich.

Good way to disguise that you're giving a child vegetables by making him think you're just feeding him fatty, unhealthy meat and grease.

Hmm, if you have a relatively large wall space and permission to nail stuff to it, you could try and get your hands on some oversized staples (I've forgotten the Swedish name, so I can't give you an actual name), or just buy a solid steel wire and bend some yourself (and perhaps sharpen the ends with a file) and nail them into the wall to create holders for your knives. They should be wide enough for the knife to slide all the way down to the guard without touching the sides, so that the edge won't get damaged.

If you don't want to do this sort of damage to your wall, or if some of your knives have rather large hilts, you can get a nice-looking plank to nail the holder-thingys into instead, and just nail the plank to the wall instead. The downside to it is that all knives will have to be lined up on perfect rows, which may look good if they're all of similar length, but not necessarily if they're all different...

If you want, you can add another one further down (and nailed deeper into the wall) to force the blade closer to the wall and prevent it from dangling...

It's a bit too late to draw a picture, but if you want some clarification, I can do a quick one tomorrow...

Americans put men on the moon and put their food in a foil bag. Americans put cheese in cans. With a short spout thing. Shake the can and touch the spout and cheese comes out in a line or a spot or a mess all over the sandwich. Americans put a hot dog on a stick and then in batter and then in frying oil. Doing things to food that no one should do and calling it local cooking is what we do.

California has lots of bears. There is even a bear on the flag. But we think that bears are not wild things to be shot and made into food. Just shot.

Aww but it is very good! Probably extremely unhealthy, but good! :smalltongue: But okies then Finn we won't force feed it to you. Well I won't, I can't speak for them.

Well there are bears out here, but I don't know any place where you can go get it to eat, and I don't know anyone who hunts, so it is unavailable to me. Even if I could hunt I would be way too terrified to go after one for food unless desperate. As far as animals go my fears are bears, then above that sharks, then just above that bearsharks. Tigers and lions are close to bear. Also stinging or biting insects, those don't count as animals to me though.

Oh I typically see axes as a tool rather than a weapon too, but this was modeled after old medieval battleaxes. This was not something you used casually. Hehe elephant butter!

There is but one corner here, but out in the world there are more corners. Do you hope to conquer them all and grow many thistles? If so I would gladly help. :smallamused:

We don't put cheese in cans! We put cheese product in cans. Dairy was not involved at any point in the creation of cheez-whiz. We do, however, bread and subsequently deep-fry cheese. And as a midwesterner, I've eaten macaroni and lime jell-o. So yes, we do things with food that simply should not be done. :smalltongue:

Don't forget flavored, breaded, and deep-fried butter. Also, I think the stuff that comes in cans is just cheez or "cheese" rather than cheese.

Indeed, you have to get up to Alaska or Appalachia before you find people who'll eat barr for some strange reason. Maybe the Californian barr are protected so it's OK to kill them but not to eat them, or maybe they're too fishy.

Would you have the world be any other way? You can always tell a lot about a person based upon how they approach and think about food. You can tell that I'm a culturally imperialist swine based upon how I really like pork and whenever I encounter foreign cuisine and begin to understand it I want to apply and mix it with my knowledge of my own ethnic cuisine. :smallamused: Amidus is quite correct about Manwich (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCuuGNc96lw)being the superior brand though. There is, however, something to be said for making it yourself.
What in particular don't you do? Crumble up cooked ground beef rather than forming it into patties prior to cooking? Incorporate vegetables into a sauce? Eat a thick sauce as part of a sandwich? :smallconfused:

Never heard of children not wanting to eat vegetables or otherwise being difficult about it? A common technique for dealing with it is to puree the vegetables and incorporate them into a sauce or stew or other food where the child won't notice their presence. Sort of like weaning your pet turtle to eat carrots by feeding it a mixture of carrots and ground beef and slowly changing the ratio of carrot to beef until there's no more beef.

That's more than I've gotten to have it at least. Still jelly, but less so. ...I want both a pet bear and to eat a bear at the same time right now. :smallconfused:

Arguably that should make his flesh more succulent and sweet, even as his cruelty knows no bounds.

Hello everyone. I am now back from the work. Yaaay.

How's everyone doing tonight?
