I got bored today, and thought, what if people on a forum were given the opportunity to vote up a hypothetical ideal video game? How would it look, or feel, or play? So this is what we have here in this thread. I apologize if this isn't quite the right forum, but it seemed like the most sensible place.

first order of business, what genre(s) do we want?

I'd suggest rewording the description of the first post.

Video games have the adventure game genre. Adventure games have been made using all the themes you listed. I suggest renaming "genre" to "theme" or "feeling" or something like that, and defining which kind of adventure you mean. Perhaps "pulp adventure".
